Taking a cannabis vacation isn’t a new thing, but for American travellers, it’s starting to gain more interest. According to a recent KAYAK survey, about 1 in 4 Americans aged 21-34 had already travelled to a destination because cannabis was legal. While this isn’t news to Canadian travellers, it’s a nice reminder that the travel landscape heading in a more cannabis-friendly direction. With this growing interest in mind, we created a guide to several (but not all) cannabis destinations across North America. From deciding where to go, where to stay and what to do when you’re there, this resource can help Canadian travellers discover dope destinations across the region.

Adults 21+ can possess up to an ounce of marijuana, up to 16 ounces of marijuana in solid form (edible), up to 72 ounces of marijuana-infused liquid products and 5 grams of concentrate. This applies to both residents and out-of-state visitors.

Consuming marijuana in public is illegal including in a parked or operating vehicle. Some cities and counties in Oregon have prohibited licenced recreational retail facilities, so be sure to check where local dispensaries are before visiting.
