Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Crew was friendly"
Cons: "Not as nice as the flight to and from Honolulu"
Pros: "The extra leg room that you have to pay for."
Cons: "Insufficient padding in the “premium” seats. No decent meal selections. The wrap that I had was primarily a tasteless piece of flat bread."
Pros: "Boarding was OK."
Cons: "Very uncomfortable generally. No water on the plane. Cold coffee and tea. Just a bad experience."
Pros: "Windows"
Cons: "Mostly everything"
Pros: "everything"
Cons: "the turbulance but theres nothing that can be done for that."
Pros: "we caught the earlier flight to Vancouver, which was great!"
Pros: "Space for my legs, good movies and food. Smooth ride. It was my first trip with the airline and i loved it"
Cons: "Had to wait 1 hour to get my bag back. They were having trouble to find it. Because i waited an hour they gave me a $10 voucher to eat at the airport"
Pros: "I would choose this route again--I liked the timing of the flight and transferring in Toronto."
Cons: "The kosher food was abysmal which may not have been Air Canada's fault. When a seating problem arose with an ultra orthodox man who refused to be seated next to me (a woman) the flight attendant told me, "I don't deal with that." Finally another flight attendant found the man a seat between two men."
Cons: "seats were uncomfortable, cramped, didn't recline had to pay for entertainment no flight status information during flight food wasn't tasty"
Pros: "Gate customer service (Jaslon) at Newark Airport was great. When my flight from Newark to Toronto was late and I was going to miss my connection, Jaslon was very helpful by rebooking me on a better flight and having my bags transferred immediately. Second checked bag fee was reasonable,"
Cons: "You pay for everything - snacks, headphones, food. Slow counter service at check-in at Newark"
Cons: "At the gate, we were told our plane would leave soon. An hour later, they announced the flight was cancelled and we were briskly escorted out of the terminal, told to go through customs and pick up our luggage, which had never even made it on to the plane. They were not re-booking flights at the airport, and the phone lines went to a voice mail message telling us to call back in a few days. I was stranded in Toronto with no phone and no where to stay. It's a week later and I still have not heard anything from from, even though I've called and emailed and sent snail mail."
Cons: "It was delayed by 24 minutes."
Cons: "The prop aircraft that Air Canada uses for the YYC-YEG route are old and cramped. They do nothing for the Air Canada brand."
Pros: "We flew premium economy, and it was so much better than regular economy. Seating just two across made my wife's and my journey much easier. The crew was attentive when they needed to be, and the food was quite good. I managed to sleep several hours, which is about as good as it gets on a long haul flight."
Cons: "I was surprised at the selections available for movies and TV; not much that was appealing. Took a Singapore air flight a few days later and felt like the selections were better. But we brought an iPad and had downloaded House of Cards, so we were OK. Besides, I got to sleep."
Cons: "Tough to have a long-haul flight without functioning seat-back entertainment. Mine never worked. Asked three times about it - three times the system was "rebooted" - to no avail. I told each subsequent flight attendant that it had already been reset - they just "tried" it again. Very frustrating over the course of several hours. No one ever checked to see whether their re-set actually worked. Also, not sure why the window seats now have an arm rest on the window side of the seat - seriously interferes with passenger comfort when trying to sleep."
Pros: "My flight from Orlando to Montreal was comfortable and convenient. Boarding went smoothly."
Cons: "The overhead bins were surprisingly small so take that into consideration when packing your carry on. Staff was tolerable but not particularly polite or welcoming."
Pros: "The snack selection is excellent"
Cons: "No complaints"
Cons: "When I arrived in Seoul, Asiana would NOT grant lounge access. I had a business class tkt to Korea, and Asiana does NOt offer biz class to my destination...very huge let down."
Cons: "Same as above. Flight delayed by 45 minutes. No explanation given as to why... no inclement weather or other issues that day."
Pros: "No issues with the plane or service itself but we were stuck waiting for a replacement plan for a late night flight and departed 4 hours after schedule."
Cons: "Delayed because of mechanical issue"
Pros: "nothing"
Cons: "everything"
Cons: "They boarded early while our connecting flight was late. They told us they could not allow us in even though we arrived 1 hour before. Had to purchase all new tickets."
Pros: "The Air Canada ground and flight crews did the best they could in a bad situation."
Cons: "Where do I start? Maybe by saying that I'm really not a complainer. I'm really not. I know there are understandable, although not always pleasant, occurences and situations that cause or contribute to things. But this shuttle flight was a disaster of poor airline planning. The 1.5 hour flight kept getting delayed again and again and again. The assigned gate got changed 4 times and we found ourselves having to walk with our bags from one to another. It finally took off at 12:30 at night with an ORIGINAL departure time of either 8:40 or thereabouts. You're talking about a 4 hour delay. Weather? Raining, but nothing that was serious. It was just, well, raining. No explanation was ever given for the delay although, uhh, complimentary bags of pretzels were handed out. I felt bad for the ground and flight crew. They had to deal with us less-than-pleased passengers and, really, the delay was beyond their control. Which leads me to believe poor scheduling by Air Canada of available planes was a reason. It was all very, very bad and, given a previous flight 10 days ago that took 5 hours instead of the scheduled 1.5, we'll never use Air Canada again."
Pros: "Everything on time"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "Nothing in particular. We got here safely. That's good."
Cons: "1 bathroom for long flight. Ridiculous. Very tight and uncomfortable seats. No pillows, blankets, food and drink service only 1 time in long flight and all food is purchased. Basically, an exercise in human torture for 5+ hours. Should not be permissible to treat people this way."
Cons: "it was a horrible experience and i will never fly with air canada again. best of luck"
Pros: "Great attention from staff towards patrons."
Cons: "The late boarding, the delay to liftoff"
Cons: "Delayed, no food, waiting time to get out of plane too long"
Pros: "Its entertainment"
Cons: "very uncomfortable coach seats and 4 hour delay in Vancouver airport"
Pros: "Boarding of children at the beginning of boarding operations. Double thumbs up."
Cons: "At 2 hours into the flight I was most of the way through a movie. The crew then announced that some passengers were unable to view the entertainment system so they were resetting the entire system. Crew said passengers would be able to resume watching entertainment at the point they left off. Needless to say this was not the case. The entertainment system never got reset properly and did not function for the rest of the 4+ hour flight."
Pros: "The seats were comfortable and we had more leg room than most planes."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed over an hour and no food was served - only snacks you could buy."
Pros: "Got us home safely. Confortable seats."
Cons: "Left one piece of luggage behind. Had to wait for it to be sent on next flight."
Pros: "great seats much roomier than other airlines"
Cons: "It is Air Canada Express. It has long delay hours both to and from for us traveling from Chicago O'Hare to Japan. No explanation. Made us missed out flight in Tokyo and had to stay at hotel. Air Canada did not honor our flight mileages because of their delay, they had to put us to UA. UA was bad too."
Cons: "Was put on plane to France, 5 hour layover. Still waiting for my luggage to arrive. Frustrating in extreme."
Pros: "Flight was on schedule"
Cons: "Plane sat on Tarmac for 45 mins Flight attendant was busy chatting personal matters non-stop and was loud, when passengers were totally annoyed from waiting 45 mins to deplane"
Pros: "friendly prompt service, comfortable seats - free tv and movies"
Cons: "had to circle for about an hour before we were able to land due to a storm but that wasn't the crews fault - just bad luck"
Pros: "Wow these guys balance MANY flight changes and seat changes with professional and humor that all the passengers appreciated"
Cons: "I was sent to Frankfurt because Air Canada messed up my flight. When I got to Frankfurt, they had booked me on a lufthansa flight. When I got to the gate to get a boarding pass, the person told me that Air Canada had not paid them for the flight and unless they were able to contact them before boarding the plane, I would not be able to get in. They were able to do so right before boarding. The plane from Frankfurt was over one hour late. I was supposed to arrive in Lyon at 10:35am and got there at 7:30pm. Throughout all this ordeal, Air Canada staff members were mostly unhelpful and often rude."
Pros: "Again, we arrived safely but a bit late."
Cons: "We're on a flight for 10 hours and our breakfast was a piece of banana bread. After a very disappointing dinner. Really didn't cut it. Have to access entertainment on my device - no thanks. Overall they just did everything on the cheap."
Cons: "Plane was broken. Air condition did not worked. Flight was 2.5 hours late. Missed our connection to Budapest."
Pros: "Crew was nice and friendly and gave free Direct TV"
Cons: "Kayak sent me an email indicating both my flights were on Air Canada but my flights to and from SFO were on United. I was unable to change my seats online with no explanation."
Cons: "Deplaning and entering the terminal was delayed substantially."
Pros: "We had a pretty uneventful flight from Tampa to Toronto using Air Canada. That is a good thing. The airline offers complementary juices and drinks of the nonalcoholic variety. No complaints."
Pros: "Weather was nice so it was not due to weather. We had to stay in Toronto overnight."
Cons: "Sound wasn't working on TV set."
Cons: "Your unprofessional staff"
Cons: "Boarding was not clear"
