So it wasn’t until we arrived at the layover point, we were told we had to pull the bags and re-check them in with Air Canada, go through the whole rigamarile of checkin, baggage check, and security. Not something you want to deal with when you are at the tail end of a red-eye flight. So thumbs down. In Westjet’s defense, they did give me a 200 dollar credit toward a future flight when I kicked up a fuss about the change to a 7-hour layover."

This was by far the best food I have ever had and economy class I have never encountered this food traveling from the US to Europe but traveling back from Europe the food is often better. This one was phenomenal."
Cons: "Selecting the entertainment choices was very very sluggish to the point where I just discontinued trying to find a show to watch. On both flights, going to Frankfurt and then returning from Frankfurt those international flights, the video or entertainment was very slow to select. I also noticed in some seats it wasn't working or people also just gave up. I did however like the fact that some shows we're closed captioned, that is really helpful because sometimes it is difficult to adjust the sound to to be able to clearly hear the conversations in the movie. Subtitles definitely help. I wish all of them had subtitles. The boarding is okay and I understand all the emeralds and rubies and platinum's Etc, but sometimes by the time group for get seated there's not always enough room in the overhead compartments because people tend to put all their bags their. And some people still take oversized bags that should probably be checked this is quite a nuisance."
We were in business class and had to go and find someone to get a drink a couple of times during the flight. Meanwhile, the lady in front of me slept for the first part of the flight and had her dinner later (making a lot of noise) and the steward treated her like royalty. Deplaning was also extremely odd as they spent 15 minutes letting all people off first that had to catch other flights. We were only 15 minutes late. I’ve almost never had to do that before, and only when we were extremely late. Almost seemed like this crew was new and/or inexperienced. Im sure they are going to blame Covid!
They simply did a great job. Covid makes it more complicated but they rose to the occasion. Maybe too many announcements

Cons: "I had a window seat which had the new dimming glass rather than the pull-down shade. I kept the window at the darkest setting, and, even so, the window was so hot you could not hold your hand on it for more than a few seconds without it burning. The heat radiated so far out from the window that I needed to keep the air vent open totolerate it. Usually, when one sits in a window seat, they have the luxury of leaning against it with their pillow as they rest. The heat made this very uncomfortable, and for me, impossible. In fact, at a certain point, a stewardess came to the row ahead of me and excused herself with those passengers saying that she wanted to check the window of that row as the person sitting there was wondering is there was a malfunction in the window because it was burning hot. I spoke up and told the stewardess that the window was unbearably hot and to try to hold her hand on it. She responded, "Wow! That really IS the hot!" She said she'd check up front. She came back saying the pilot said it was because we are on the side of the plane facing the sun. We were on that side for 8 hours!! While they rerouted others on the flight, they did not reroute us because we didn't check any luggage! Their reasoning was we had a chance to make the connection. But they made us wait in a line for 10 minutes to be told that despite our requests to go to the gate. By then it was too late. We then had to fly stand by to Chicago and stand by again to get to St. Louis."
Pros: "The van that waited to quickly take us to customs and then to the gate to escort us to our connecting flight (which had been held for us) was incredibly welcome and helpful. I am grateful for that consideration and effort made on our behalf. The flight staff was excellent. Everything seemed to go very smoothly. I really liked the built in screens (& headphones) and entertainment programming made available to us."

Pros: "I liked, that the staff was nice and friendly, I got my gluten-free food and there was enough entertainment (movies, movies, ...) to choose from, which made it a pleasant flight. Unfortunately, our flight from Munich to Toronto had a delay, so I couldn't make it to the connecting flight. Without having to ask or complain, Air Canada booked us on the next possible flight, which was the next morning, and gave us the boarding passes and a voucher for a Sheradon hotel close to Toronto airport, where I went by a free Sheradon Shuttle bus."
Cons: "I would have liked to be informed more than two times in 30minutes at the boarding area, about what was going on with the plane having to start later. It's not the waiting that is the bad thing in my eyes, it's the not knowing what is going on, also for passengers arriving after the first announcement. I could imagine people being a little more understanding, if they know what is going on, as well as your staff being less busy to answer questions, but instead being able to solve part of the problem."

My husband had the regular option and also commented on how it was very good (for airplane food). Only thing he didn't like was the light lunch that was a heated up wrap. At that point, we were almost home and it didn't matter. Nice flight! We will be back!"

The seats have very little padding and zero lumbar support, thank goodness they give you a mini pillow otherwise my back would have been so bad I wouldn't have been able to walk! I would NOT recommend Condor and will never fly them again!"

Cons: "Seating is very tight even for a petite 5’1” person like me. My boyfriend was 5’8” and he was definitely uncomfortable with the lack of leg space. If the passengers in front of you decided to put their seats back? You’ve lost even more space and feel closed in. Thankfully the aisle seat next to us was empty so we tried to stretch out a little bit without spilling into the seat entirely. Entertainment was eh. Two movies from the early 2000s (Alvin & the Chipmunks and What happens in Vegas) and an episode of Tom & Jerry and an episode of Modern Family but from Season 5? Not great if you’ve never watched the series.. About their hospitality... My boyfriend and I were completely disregarded and ignored by a stewardess with blonde hair and thick black glasses... Flight: DE2102 that left September 8th from Frankfurt to San Juan. We received our meals from her AFTER she handed meals to the people behind us - this was not the case for other passengers that spoke German, everyone’s meals up until ours was handed in order.. When it was time to pick up the trays she skipped us both times (with our trays ready in our hands to hand to her) - I watched her pick up the trays from the passengers before and after us. My boyfriend did say “Excuse me” but she ignored him - she probably would’ve paid attention if he asked in German.. She even looked at us as she passed by which blew my mind. Her coworker on the other side had to pick up her slack and was very kind enough to pick up our trays even though we weren’t his assigned aisle. It confused me because she was so pleasant with the German passengers but ignored us even when we made eye contact and smile for her attention.. I hate to say this because I give everyone the benefit of the doubt but to be honest I felt discriminated.. My boyfriend is German (speaks fluent German and English) but I felt because of my ethnicity (Asian) he had to suffer for that.. I felt terrible that he was suffering because of me. No one wants that for their significant other or anyone. Another occasion was when another stewardess was handing us our drinks. My boyfriend’s cup was broken and as she passed it over me it spilled all over my shirt. I did gasp from surprise. No apologies whatsoever.. She seemed impatient and grabbed the cup back over only to put another cup under it. I asked for a Sprite but they only had Cola or Fanta so I was totally okay with Cola “Cola bitte”. My German isn’t that great but I did hear her coworker ask why I gasped and she told her that it was because I was surprised they didn’t have Sprite - very untrue. I was shocked and I couldn’t respond. I have never been so disappointed in a flight and the hospitality. I am very forgiving if an incident happens once or twice, but when I see it happen in front of me over and over and over again? That’s where my tolerance unfortunately crumbles. I was on the verge of tears by the end of the flight. I hope I never fly Condor again."
Pros: "We got there with no safety issues. That is about all the good I can think of. Also a miracle our bags made it since the delay due to Condor made us miss our connection. The best part of the flights were when we switched to Luftansa controlled planes."

Our flight was delayed 4-5 hours on the way to Europe because the food cart didn't fit. Then a delay of 2 hours on way back to US because 3 of the 6 bathrooms didn't work. Had to wait in this prison like gate with hardly any AC and then take a bus to the plane. DO YOUR RESEARCH. This airline survives on those who don't do their homework(Like me) and those who don't take others reviews seriously. Spend the extra money and get an airline that is consistent. Check out Condor's on time rate..yikes."
Cons: "Flight was overbooked and we were not boarded. The personnel at the gate desk asked us to wait in the hallway outside the gate until further notification. When the plane was almost finished boarding, I went to the desk to find out whether we would get on. They admitted they had "forgotten about us". We then took the arduous trek through passport control back out to the main terminal to rebook. The only option we were presented was a flight the next day, instead of our 9h direct flight from Frankfurt to Seattle this was going to be a 19h flight via a long layover in Chicago. I tried hard to work with the agent to find another option, and asked for the supervisor. She told me "this isn't going to help you". Horrible horrible."

In route to Frankfurt we were told visa machine wasn’t working and if you didn’t have cash you were not able to watch any but the 2 free family movies offerrred. Seems to me if the visa machine is not working the passenger should be given free in-flight entertainment but then again I think that one should get free movies on an international flight. The food was poor and we were not seated together as a family Without cajoling the staff. There was no apology given for separating us. We were placed on standby on our return flight and we’re not told until five minutes before boarding that we were getting on the flight. I would never fly this airline again unless I had no other option. If you fly this airline pay extra for premium seating so you can get an assigned seat and get decent food and in-flight entertainment"
Pros: "I liked nothing about Condor Airlines and my life would be dramatically better had I never encountered this company."
Cons: "They cancelled my departing flight with no announcement or warning at all on the day of departure. I had to figure it out on my own. Rather than put me on another flight they rescheduled me to depart the next day from a city on the other side of the US from my original departure city and told me I would have to book my own transport to the new departure city. I spent 5 hours on the phone with them before heading to the airport where I was given a flight to the new departure city but now my nonstop flight had 2 layovers with one being 5 hours long. Luckily, this rescheduling meant I didn't take a Condor flight out. But my return flight was on a Condor plane and it was awful. Cramped seating and hot with no in-flight entertainment or the option to purchase WiFi. I will never fly Condor airlines ever again and I'd recommend anyone stay away from them."
Pros: "The price, the schedule, the convenience of the airports they use. Online Checkin is a breeze, and they seem to be very good at making sure that luggage arrives with passengers. Because we arrived at the airport VERY early (2:30 AM) for a 3:40 PM flight (Eurail scheduling vagaries required this), we checked our bags at 6AM (the earliest possible time) and worried that they had WAY too much time to screw it up, but they didn't, and even if they had, we were going home! Thy did provide a bottle of water for each seat, which was nice. After a late start, we made up some time and landed only a few minutes late."
Cons: "I know it's not entirely the airlines fault, but the boarding process for this flight was byzantine. first, the gate was in the 'basement' of the terminal and you had to show your boarding pass to get into the gate area and then you couldn't leave - and the bathroom was outside the gate area. Then we waited for 25 minutes in line to get on the bus to take us to our aircraft after the 'last call' for boarding announcement was made. When they finally put us on the bus, it was another 10 minutes standing still, packed in like sardines, until the bus actually moved anywhere. I have NO idea where the plane was, but we drove and drove, and drove around the airfield until we finally pulled up at our plane. They had two boarding ramps up, one in the front and one in the back, and just told us that low row number should board from the front and high numbers from the rear, but they didn't tell us what the demarcation was. With seats in row 31, it turned out we were over the wing, pretty much dead center, so it didn't matter. It would have been nice to have a frame of reference though. Aside from that, the food was EH!, the service courteous and efficient, but not friendly, the seats cramped, the no-extra-cost entertainment insipid (except for the audio portion - they provided a huge assortment of tracks by a wide variety of artists in many genres). With my (brought with me) earbuds, I gave up on any video except the flight map and just listened to classical recordings to drown out the screaming babies in the next row and provide a pleasant background for snoozing."

Cons: "I showed up to the airport 2+ hours early, I tried to check in online, was given a error the said my reservation didn’t exist. When I arrived at the airport I went to the check in counter, when I told them I was checking for a flight to Seattle, i was told that I couldn’t check in because there was a issue with my flight. I was directed to a corner of the terminal. This corner had no chairs or seats for us, we sat there for 2+ hours all the way up to the time our flight was intended to depart. All the while we tried to get information or what was the issue, but we were just stonewalled. Finally past our boarding time were were told the flight was being canceled, and to standby for more information. Another half an hour went by before they told us they were getting us a hotel, and buses to the hotel. So then we waited another 15 minutes or so when they asked us if we had checked in because we needed a ticked to get a room at the hotel. Again we waited in line for 20+ minutes to check in. I had 2 bags to check, one I need at the hotel, the other I did not. They let me check the one bag I could, told me to check the other at the business class check in in the morning to avoid the line, sounds good, or so I thought. So condor gathers us all up, an entire 767 worth of people, and begins hearding us to the buses, they don’t tell us where we’re going, just to follow the one employee, to the 5 or so buses. A large group of us got split off at a set stairs, helping older folks and family with strollers get down the stairs. Now I spent 30 minutes wandering around Frankfurt am main looking for buses. Well they don’t park them out front, they park them out in the middle of nowhere. Finally get to get hotel, it’s a nice hotel. The next morning the lady at the business class desk was extremely rude."
Pros: "The online entertainment has a nice variety of interesting shows, including documentaries. My seat was comfortable with good leg room, but only because I got lucky when I asked for an exit row seat while checking in. The regular economy seats are extremely narrow and uncomfortable with almost no leg room (and I am only average in heigh). Taller people sitting in regular aisle seats are hanging their legs out into the aisle throughout the flight because they have to for any kind of reasonable comfort."
Cons: "Somehow the airline should tell passengers that they are going to have to go through a(mother) strict security process before getting on the plane in Frankfurt to the U.S. We all stood in line for close to an hour in a very hot area of the airport to go through full-on security - water gets thrown out, shoes off, laptops out - the whole works, again. I had already gone through this kind of security in Vienna for the Vienna-Frankfurt leg of my trip. I had no idea this was going to be required and had planned to use my time in Frankfurt to relax and get something to eat. Instead it was spent standing in a surprise security line that moved extremely slowly. Not a fun way to spend the time before getting on an 11-hour flight. If they are going to require that security they should have many more lines available so that it moves at a reasonable pace."
Cons: "First, we went to check-in to get our boarding passes, onlyfor the woman at the counter to tell us we were on Stand-By... for the flight we bought VERY expensive tickets for a YEAR in advance, because they overbooked the flight (100% the AIRLINES fault). Then after some panic time had passed, the same woman told us she was able to get us on the flight, like she'd done us some massive favor, but that we would not be able to sit together. (We are a husband and wife that were on our honeymoon). Then, once we are finally on this flight, cramped near all these strangers, we both go to find some solace in the on-board entertainment, only to find out, they only offered TWO movies free of charge. Two movies for a 10 hour flight. Seriously??? Then, we were served some on board meals, due to the duration of the flight. The food gave me food poisoning. This was by far the WORST flight experience of my life. We will NEVER be flying air Condor again. Nor, will I be referring this company to anyone."

I do appreciate thought that the Condor airline made the necessary arrangements to ensure their passengers can make the connection to their final destination even though we landed past the time we were to make our next connection. They too care of making sure to secure another flight for the passengers who missed their first connection. Great job. I made it back home the same day."

Pros: "The crew let my wife and I move to the two outside exit row seats. I asked because it was open and mentioned that it was our honeymoon and they played some tetirs and made it work for us and a number of other people to move around and be more comfortable. Also, this particular flight crew was super friendly. I didn't enjoy my last condor flight and was considering not using them again but this team made me keep that door open."

So, on my return flight I upgraded to a 99 euro seat, thinking I'd just be charged the difference. No. I over-paid 150 euros for an exit door seat. The weight limit for a carry-on bag was lighter than for other airlines, so I had to check it in and overpay for that. One of my glass souvenirs was broken."

Boarded to find my selected seats had been given to a large family and that the seats themselves were absolutely terrible in design. they were narrow and had a console that interfered with comfort. the leg-rest could not be extended enough for even an average height person to use the fold down metal foot rest, which therefore was what my calves sat on. This all amounted to ten hours of pain. Condor is not likely to get our business again."
Pros: "The crew was attentive and responsive. The exit row had adequate leg room for me because I am tall. Food was not bad."
Cons: "These are the following issues I had leaving Frankfurt: 1. They assigned me a different seat, even though I paid 99 euro to book a specific exit row seat. When I asked an employee at the airport, she told me I can contact Condor for a refund and gave no explanation as to the issue. I ended up showing a flight attendant my proof of purchase and my boarding pass with the exit row seat assignment and he was able to switch my seat. The person who was assigned my seat never paid for it, so he was willing to switch. I find this unacceptable. 2. The boarding process was a nightmare in Frankfurt. While I understand there was enhanced security due to the terrorism in Barcelona, it could have been handled far more efficiently. For instance, because I transferred airports from Barcelona, I needed to go through passport control twice and go through security again before boarding. The problem arose where there were two different lines to process the passports the 2nd time from Condor and when that was complete, to go through security. It was a large waste of time. 3. The flight was full to Austin. As a result, I was required to check my larger carry-on bag. They tried to charge me 75 euro for the second checked bag even though they were forcing me to check it on. Absolutely unacceptable. 4. They charge 8 euro for every movie and tv show available except two movies: Garfield and the last Harry Potter movies and 2 episodes of two tv shows. For an 11 hour flight, this was incredibly disappointing. The movies available were a mix of older and new. There should still be some unpaid entertainment options available in Coach. That's ridiculous."

Everything from Alcohol, Movies/TV, snacks, food, etc. was unavailable because we didn't have cash. We basically starved the entire 10 flight. 2 meals were served at the beginning and end of the flight, but nothing in between. We were in Italy/ Germany for several weeks and no problems with our CC, we spent our cash prior to flight because we didn't want to bring back excess foreign money. Will not fly condor again. We flew premium economy there and it was enjoyable, the seats were not available on the way back and its was miserable flight."

I have flown Condor several times and usually enjoy flying with condor/ Thomas Cook!! But this was one of the worse flights yet!!"
Pros: "Crew were very kind and hospitable. The aircraft was comfortable. There were a good number of restrooms that were easily accessible."
Cons: "The food was not good. I was not given any options in meal choice. That was a bit of a problem as I have lactose issues, so I did not eat much. The entertainment was rather disappointing. The economy/free selection consisted of only two movies that are better for children and teens (Garfield and Harry Potter). All other selections required a purchase of 8 euro. I have flown internationally on several occasions, and this is the first time I have been compelled to pay for entertainment. It seems that for the price and length of such flights more economy options could be given, even if they are older movies."
Pros: "Long line through customs , which caused delays to boarding overall was nothing different during the process of the whole trans action of flight 2082."
Pros: "The food was super! Seats were very comfortable with ample leg room, and I could hardly keep my eyes open throughout the flight. The crew was also attentive."
Cons: "Just that the only entertainment was a limited number of music radio channels with country and old school music. I mean no TV for premium economy?! Lufthansa's basic economy has got a TV and WiFi for long distance travels!"

Cons: "- Inefficient boarding procedure. I cant tell if this is Lufthansa's or the airport's issue, but when you arrive to your gate, you then have to proceed with the security checkpoint which took forever. Then you're basically stuck in a smaller area until boarding. - While every seat had a TV screen, they only provided 2 movies to choose from (Harry Potter or Garfield) unless you were willing to pay extra for their whole movie collection. It was kind of a shame finding that out since most other airlines that I've been on provide the full set of movies for no additional cost."
Cons: "The flight was not with Lufthansa. It was with Condor, and they seem not to know very much about customer service. I get that the airport industry doesn't work based on customer service, but still."

Cons: "the gate for condor was in an isolated area of the airport, no restaurants, no shopping, inadequate restrooms and them stuck in a room with 2 vending machines for hours when flight was delayed"

Cons: "both the outgoing and return flights did not start boarding until after the flight was scheduled to leave. The gate leaving from Frankfurt had its own security line for just this gate, and then we were coralled in a small space waiting to board, and this little area was packed and really hot in comparison to the rest of the airport. Had to pay to choose a seat, as I didn't want them to stick me in a middle seat. also had to pay to get more than 2 movies, the card reader declined all 3 of my cards (they worked in the airport before boarding). I guess Im used to the fantastic service of Alaska airlines, where they are much more willing to give you free things on the plane, meals, drinks, especially if the card reader doesn't work. Luckily the gal next me had some cash to cover me. I also asked for a pen to fill out my custom papers, and a stewardess said no, she didn't have a pen and walked off. I would like to say I wouldn't fly them again, but they are cheap, and not having layovers is really nice"
Pros: "Entertainment was good and the flight was very smooth."
Cons: "Crew was very unorganized. Did not come to give food until an hour before we landed and we're rushing to pick up all the trays as we were landing. No vegetarian options even though I saw gluten free options the crew member would give me one even though I saw dozens on his trolly before he went back to retire that trolly and get the main meal. The young male crew member didn't know what he was doing and cause tension between the other crew members. Not a comfortable experience and the worst food I've had on a plane."
Pros: "Like that flight wasnt full. Had row to myself."
Cons: "Curfew in Frankfurt. Forced to spend the night as there are no flights going out in the airport after 11pm. Citizens of Frankfurt do not like airport noise. So just be aware of this when booking. Gate information isnt available or visible until 30 minutes before boarding. So if you're an early bird you are left wondering where to go or if you're in the right place. Boarding process is terrible. No announcement as to what section is boarding except for premium/first class. Free for all after that and rude gate staff. Like just open your mouth and tell us who is suppose to board so they'll be no confusion. If you are brown/black, please note security/police in Germany will do a "random" security check on you again at the gate. Just comply :-( As others mentioned the food is quite unsavory. Eat before you get on and bring plenty of snacks."
Pros: "Direct flight from Frankfurt to Portland Oregon. Nice flight crew. Friendly and welcoming. Punctual . Efficient boarding and deplaning process."
Cons: "Very uncomfortable seats. They do not conform to body shape for comfort. Ergonomically incorrect. Impossible to sleep during flight. Food was bland. No headphones and no access to entertainment."

Cons: "Seats are quite small and I could not upgrade Uncomfortable for a 10 hours flight Meals were poor. You have to pay for alcoholic drinks. Kind of low cost airline treatment. Storage for cabin luggage is very small. They have a 6kg limit and size is smaller that on regular airlines. This info is somewhat hard to find when purchasing the ticket. They only have 2 movies included, a decent entertainment package was quite expensive The plane left late but caught up during the flight I will avoid this kind of experience"

Cons: "Tightest passenger seating I have experienced in over 60 years of flying and the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE seat. I am just 6' and my knees pressed agsinst the seatback in the upright position. Firmly. First time ever I couldn't sleep. Accoustics meant the talking of a passenger across the aisle and against the window sounded like he was in my lap! HORRIBLE design. A ceiling panel came loose and swung down in flight (lights attached). Nobody knew how to fix it so the entire wait crew just stood and stared at it for 10 minutes until one woman swung it back into place. AWFUL training."
Pros: "Chose this flight for the price. Service on board was good. Friendly crew. Food was good and the beverage cart came by several times. I would only choose this airline again if my budget required it."
Cons: "While in Germany, I broke my leg, was in a cast, and required a wheelchair for mobility. The airport staff was not well organized to deal with people with mobility issues. After waiting for 25 minutes for someone to assist us to the gate, we decided we'd better just get there ourselves. The plane was already boarding when we made it there and an agent told us to just get in the back of the line. When we were half way through the queue another agent asked us why we were in the queue and at that time brought us to the head of the line boarding. The seats are tilted forward to make more room and it feels like you are sitting down slope...not enjoyable on a long flight. All the other flights, my wheelchair was waiting and my husband could take care of me. In Seattle, my wheelchair had been sent to baggage and we had to have an employee wheel me for liability reasons. He had two wheelchairs he was trying to maneuver, so we had to sit and wait several times while he was getting the other person to their destination. We were concerned about making our connecting flight."
