Cons: "b/c i booked (at the recommendation of kayak), my flight was cancelled and i was refunded by airline. My return trip was not returned to me."
Pros: "once we took off it was fine"
Pros: "We made it to our destination. Flight attendants were pleasant. Juice was served in a real glass not plastic. Storage in overhead very narrow. Couldn’t get standard size bag it it."
Cons: "Gate was changed but no announcements were made.Flight left over an hour late. No instructions given for people with connecting flights."
Pros: "I thought the staff - all of them, ground and cabin crew - were just extraordinary; so attentive, welcoming and really trying to make travel as easy and enjoyable as possible. For instance, my original first flight leg was delayed, which would jeopardize me making my connection in Toronto. The gentleman at the check-in desk at my departure airport immediately arranged for me to take an earlier flight into Toronto so I would not miss my connection. I didn't - or indeed couldn't - ask for anything more. Thank you to the Porter crew!"
Pros: "Free snacks"
Cons: "The flight was delayed twice and they didn’t tell us until 5 minutes after we had to leave. Also, I received the email that my flight was delayed from porter until 30 minutes after they announced it at the airport."
Pros: "The service was great and fast"
Cons: "Both of my Porter Airlines flights were delayed. It seems they often delay / cancel flights"
Pros: "Only 2 seats together - not 3. Free drinks and snacks"
Pros: "Once they were up and running, Porter was a great airline. Flight was short so i didn't expect anything fancy on the food menu anyway"
Cons: "My flight got delayed at least 5 times. Not a great first experience. Had an eerie likeliness of Spirit, which we all know is just not a real airline. not sure if I would fly again if that is the general perception of Porter airlines. I could care less about comfort as long as I get to where I am going on time, which I did not."
Pros: "Porter was very prompt on their loading and take off. Complementary wine and beer in delight was a bonus. Complementary beverages and he mix was a nice surprise during my layover as well. Their waiting area was large, adequate in seating and comfortable."
Cons: "The bathroom stalls at the waiting luge were small. You can barely fit your luggage in there with you."
Pros: "The lounge at Billy Bishop was lovely, and thee flight attendants are very pleasant."
Cons: "My flight was delayed because they said there was something with their fuel, and my connecting flight — which Porter told me would be held for the many of us relying on it — took off 10 minutes beforee we got in."
Pros: "There was a delay on my first flight with a very short layover and everyone I talked to helped ease my worry that I'd miss my flight. They ended up prioritizing us through security and holding our connecting flight back until we got on."
Pros: "in general it was fine"
Pros: "flight delayed, connection not possible, over 1 h waiting on phone to rebook! compensation minimal"
Cons: "Flight was delayed and an earlier one with plenty of room the crew refused to book us on."
Pros: "Glass !"
Pros: "Lounge and snacks at Toronto were great. Staff were excellent. Flight was enjoyable."
Cons: "Delays mainly. Flight from Toronto to Montreal was almost jeopardized due to lateness of first leg (Newark to Toronto). Understandably there was heavy rain that day. Return journey, (Montreal to Newark via Toronto) the connecting flight was delayed by an hour. In general, on-flight food could be more substantial, considering the time between Newark and Montreal."
Cons: "It was an hour late taking off"
Pros: "Like the complimentary lounge and good plane snacks. The crew was helpful and we were on time."
Cons: "The connection process was confusing. We were already at the gate we needed to be at but they made us go to a gate agent who simply walked us back to where we were originally standing."
Pros: "Seats were not cramped, plane was not full. Billy bishop airport is very easy to negotiate. Nice lounge with complimentary snacks. And they're even kosher!"
Pros: "Complimentary buffet for lay overs."
Pros: "free beer"
Cons: "flights were late"
Cons: "Hot in plane. Late"
Cons: "Tried to move my flight to an earlier one in the day there was space to do so but was unable to avoid a $200 fee. The later flight got delayed and connected flight as well."
Pros: "Professional staff, couldn't ask for more."
Cons: "Turbulence, can't blame the small plane and the whining 40 year ol that made things so dramatic, grow up. I understand flights can be scary, yes I was a bit scared myself, but I did not feel the need to wheep so loud to freak everyone else out. Panicaning is the worst attribute any person could have. Best small airline I've ever flown with."
Pros: "Very friendly crew"
Pros: "Excellent customer service, Very comfortable flight and warm welcoming crew"
Pros: "Accessibility of canadian flights"
Pros: "Lounge with free drinks (soda, coffee, water) and cookies/snacks! Glass drinks glasses on the plane! And leg room!"
Pros: "On time flights & good flight crew"
Pros: "Boarding, my carry on got to go in the hole. Nice not to have to muscle it around. Personnel were so nice."
Pros: "The experience was great overall. The aircraft are modern and the crew are congenial. There are advantages to riding in such small aircraft, as boarding and deplaning are quick and easy."
Cons: "There really is nothing to complain about."
Pros: "Love the snacks and drinks, and flight attendants were friendly. Boarding and take-off were very prompt and efficient! The music the airplane plays over the loudspeakers was a nice touch."
Cons: "The flight was delayed but there was no communication about this. It would have been nice to have an update, just to know what was going on (especially since the flight prior was cancelled due to weather). The flight attendants also mentioned bad turbulence several times, which can make guests a little uneasy. I'm not sure how you get around this, and it's good to have a heads up, but the consistent reminders can be scary."
Pros: "Friendly service."
Pros: "Always delayed. Took 7 hours to fly from Montreal to Chicago with change in Toronto. A bit disappointing"
Cons: "I needed to get to Boston that day so I woke up @ 5AM for that. I arrive at the airport only to find out that the Porter airplane just "didnt arrive from last night, we're so sorry". I asked that I get to Boston the same day - that's why I purchased the ticket. The crew said "they're so sorry all flights are booked". They could either have us get a later flight (not to arrive on the same day) or refund us and have us find another airline. We asked that they take care of our flights themselves - even with other airlines. They politely but categorically refused. We got our money back and flew with Westjet, and will likely never fly with or recommend Porter again."
Pros: "Fast boarding"
Cons: "The landing was a bit rough"
Pros: "The crew was great, which is not what I had expected of a crew stuck on a turboprop. A glass of wine and some snacks are included."
Cons: "My morning flight was canceled. Had I not checked the Porter website I would not have known, and would have been stuck at the airport for 8 hours until my rescheduled flight. I received a notification 90 minutes before departure indicating that it was canceled, but was not given a reason why (was it the weather? did the plane not make it to the airport the night before?)"
Pros: "Free alcohol and snacks! They don't skimp on drinks - you get a full water bottle, full can of soda, fairly large glass of wine, full can of beer - whatever you choose. Crew was extremely pleasant, kind and helpful."
Cons: "Planes were small propeller planes. Not a bad thing, just not my first choice."
Pros: "Excellent. Polite service, free (and tasty) food + beverages, (dry and otherwise) comfortable seats, other customers polite, bilingual announcements, fast + efficient. Really impressed! Good price too."
Cons: "Nothing, really! No in-flight entertainment besides a magazine, but all short flights anyway."
Cons: "The flight was delayed and they didn't even send a representative to the gate to let people know. I had to go down to another gate to ask about it. When people missed their connections they didn't even rebook them, they gave them a pamphlet with a 800 number to call."
Pros: "The service was very good and the airplane"
Cons: "Half hour delay in Montreal"
Pros: "Free drinks and snack"
Cons: "Old dirty plane, very noisy, poorly maintained, late"
Cons: "Delays are usual with Porter. Every time I fly Porter there are delays. One on leg I made the connection, the gate was still open, the screen said "final boarding call" and at the gate the lady said "sorry we gave away your seats". The lady handling all of the Porter affairs did not have a reasonable response for giving away our seats she just said "we didn't think you would make the flight", but apparently we did make the flight. Horribly unprofessional in every way. She did compensate us with a 15.00 dollar food voucher, but I would much rather have been on the flight I actually made, instead of having my seat given away."
Pros: "Nothing positive to say"
Cons: "Originating flight was delayed, so missed connection in Montreal and had to be rerouted. After going through 5 airports to reach our final destination, we finally made it - without our luggage!!! To make matters worse, the complete and extreme lack of empathy on behalf of Air Canada's customer service desk was less than appreciated by us.... As it turns out, Air Canada was aware all along that we would miss our connection; however, they still had us board our originating flight. The gate agent should have been conscientious and informed us that the delay was ongoing with our flight being number 22+ on the tarmac to take off, thus guaranteeing our missed connection. They should have rebooked us on another flight from our original destination vs rebooking us upon arrival in Montreal to miss further connecting flights. Very disappointed!!!!! Based on this experience alone, never again will I or my family travel Air Canada."
Cons: "I was simply trying to relieve myself using the restroom in the back. I had held it in the entire time during take off but I desperately needed to go. The seatbelt sign stayed on for an eternity so I decided to get up to go when I felt it might be ok. Another gentleman also did so, he didn't get yelled at but I got an earful from the flight attendant and she assumed I didn't speak English because I couldn't respond while trying to hold my nladder."
Pros: "They provided a meal, a snack, and plenty of beverages. The crew was pleasant, attentive, and helpful."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed three hours. My flight and one other were the last to leave that night. There were no TVs on this flight. The only way to watch movies was on a smart phone or electronic device through their app. My poor old fashioned dad, didn't bring his phone so he would have just sat there for seven and a half hours if I didn't let him borrow mine. AirCanada's alternative is to rent an iPad from them, just another way for airline companies to get money out of us. The movie choices on their app were bad and older. International flights usually have new movies to so it is less likely passengers have seen them already."
Pros: "Flight crew was nice and helpful."
Cons: "The in-flight viewing service was not functioning. For an entire 6 hours and half, we couldn't watch movies or anything else."
Pros: "This was a boring flight which is a good thing, no drama, no mechanical problems, no weather problems. More leg room than an overseas flight."
Cons: "There was some confusion during boarding."
Cons: "another delay"
Pros: "Help provided by the whole staff"
Cons: "This flight was two and a half hours late. We lost an hour and 45 minutes due to a mechanical problem with our airplane, then lost another 45 minutes due to a storm in Toronto. Air Canada blamed the weather for our late arrival, my missed connection and claimed no responsabilility for the fact that my trip ended up taking more than 24 hours when it was supposed to take about 9 hours. Also, there was the matter of the lost luggage which was a carry on that I accepted to have checked as the Air Canada staff seemed desperate to check our carry ons on a full flight to Toronto from Montreal. I ended up spending the night in the Vancouver airport without access to my luggage."
Cons: "my flights were delayed, crew could not help me find a hotel, instead had to sleep at the airport, plus my luggage was lost and still no idea what is going on. Had to miss work due to my flight being delayed, was supposed to fly from montreal at 4:30pm to Toronto, then catch my flight to Los Angeles, flight was missed due to weather. got to Toronto and missed my flight, the line to get help was absolutely ridiculous, stood there for 3 hrs along with other travelers. They booked me a flight from Toronto to Calgary but it was for the next day at 410pm on august 1st!!! I had to sleep on the airport floor and spend my whole day there instead of being home with my family I honestly would love a refund..."
Pros: "Very good crue"
Cons: "Very concientiousvAiur Canada employees"
Pros: "The counter assistant was very, very nice."
Cons: "It is good that the flight was very short. The seats were crammed together and the plane was very small. I felt like I was in a sardine can."
Pros: "Service flight on time food"
Cons: "No movies for 7 hour flight"
Cons: "delayed. no explanation for a long time. no agent at gate for alot of the time."
Cons: "No entertainment no snacks no checked in luggage. You have to pay to rent iPad to watch inflight movies as pay for earphones. Air Canada has become a premium priced airline with extra low cost /no frills service. Sad and disappointing. Last time I am flying with AC. Rather book cheaper airlines and know what to expect than pay a premium and get even less than the low cost option. Boarding staff was rude pushing people etc"
Cons: "Gate change but no announcement"
Pros: "We flew Toronto to Milan"
Cons: "Air canada doesn't know how to run an airline and should stop trying. They are hurting all of their passengers, and they do not care."
Pros: "Staff was very helpful and kind"
Pros: "We received generous vouchers, when our flight was delayed prior to its cancellation."
Cons: "The only disappointing thing about our flight was the cancellation without warning and explanation. We then had to work to get on a new flight as some of our party were not automatically re-booked."
Pros: "Cabin service was pleasant and professional, ambient lighting dimmed for sleeping (it was quite late), restrooms were clean, and seats were comfortable."
Cons: "Delayed departure"
Pros: "Loved the direct flight! Landed ahead of schedule which facilitated my workday."
Pros: "The flight attendants were very pleasant and helpful. My entertainment app was not letting me play a movies so they gave me a tablet for free. I thought that was very nice customer service."
Cons: "Nor enough moxie choices and mostly old ones. The exact same ones were playing on my return flight. The food options were not great. Not enough of a selection. Also my daughter and I were assigned seats apart and I felt not enough was done to help us sit together. We had to handle it ourselves once on the plane."
Pros: "Seats are quite comfortable. Flight was on time."
Cons: "Suitcase costs money. Food was ok. No headphones for entertainment. I felt it was like a low cost flght but we paid a regular price."
Cons: "Flight was delayed for several hours, while the crew assured us it was on the way. When it landed they still said it was being prepped. Then at 10pm or so, they said it was cancelled. Then we waited another hour and a half to speak to representatives and get our hotels. Then another hour to the hotel to go to sleep. Because I had to be back at the airport in 7 hours to catch the next flight. It would have taken me 2 hours to drive to Seattle from Vancouver."
Pros: "Dinner was ok, Breakfast and coffee were horrrible"
Cons: "Very rude staff, would not do anything I asked and responded with attitude"
Pros: "pleasant staff / flight attendants."
Cons: "i was unlucky to get young noisy kids behind me and in my row each flight. but that is nothing Air Canada can do anything about."
Pros: "Wireless was free and we were able to log on to the entertainment website to watch movies."
Cons: "Each chair didn't have a tv. There weren't any plugs to keep electronics charged up."
Pros: "Their staff is extremely friendly and helpful, but they can only do what is within corporate rules to help you. Their corporate policies are NOT GOOD!"
Cons: "Flying Air Canada is horrible! They nickel & dime you to the point of tears. They charged me $15 per leg to make advanced seat assignments ($60 total) then changed my flights and put me in middle seats on two legs without asking me - I didn't find out until I was ready to board and they called my name to come to the gate desk! They also charge $33+ US to check one bag. If you go over the 50 lb weight limit they charge $100. By the time you add it all up, I could have flown on Delta through the US for less. Trying to get my seat selection fees reimbursed was very difficult; At the airport, they told me to go online and ask for a refund; Online, I couldn't find the way to get to the refund link; Called Customer service again, who gave me an 800# to call for a refund; the person on the 800 # told me I had to request it online but walked me through it to find the refund link; I filled in the online request and was told by automatic reply that Air Canada would investigate it and get back to me within 3-4 weeks. Ugh! No more Air Canada for me!"
Pros: "The crew was very nice. The return seizing was great, also, with the check-in person ensuring I could sit alone."
Cons: "I still deplore that we are not given a glass of wine or a beer. Come on. Such a small gesture would make such a difference."
Pros: "Very nice plane, great service and smooth flight."
Pros: "Flight staff was nice."
Cons: "The plane was VERY tight. It is probably the plane with the least amount of legroom I have been on, very uncomfortable. The flight staff, although nice, was uninformed of the necessary paperwork to enter the DR and, as we landed, it made a big mess because no one knew what they needed and had to start filling out paperwork all at once."
Pros: "Short flight so can't say much. Lol"
Pros: "I wish my INTERNATIONAL flight on Air Canada had been as nice as my flights within Canada and the US. The international flight had no screen to watch movies, etc. theis flight within Canada was very pleasant. The boarding delay was bad, but the flight was fine."
Cons: "Crowded space at Montreal airport and long delay.seemed chaotic"
Cons: "they lost my luggage and their customer service person is not friendly or helpful."
Pros: "Service was on time & staff was friendly and helpful."
Cons: "On the flight back, we had to wait on the airplane for a good hour before we could disembark. But that was due to heavy traffic at the airport and not the fault of the airline."
Pros: "The flight was no cancel because the weather"
Cons: "Waiting too much after landing in LGA"
Cons: "One of my three flights was unnecessarily delayed by two hours, enough that I missed my last connection and had to stay overnight in Vancouver. There were no technical complications or weather complications. It was simply because something had been misscheduled and the flight crew needed a longer rest time between flights. This is completely avoidable, and the attendent who checked me in even said so. While the hotel and shuttle were paid for, Air Canada only gave me a $7 breakfast voucher, which was only redeemable at the hotel's measly breakfast counter rather than anywhere in the airport. For the unnecessary delays I had to deal with, i should had received more credit. This was an utterly disappointing travel experience."
Cons: "Constant gate changes. Getting a seat number assigned was tedious"
Pros: "My flight from Orlando to Montreal was comfortable and convenient. Boarding went smoothly."
Cons: "The overhead bins were surprisingly small so take that into consideration when packing your carry on. Staff was tolerable but not particularly polite or welcoming."
Pros: "Professional fight attendants, very nice."
Cons: "The flight took off late but most of the lost time was made up during the flight time."
Pros: "Crew quite courteous and helpful. Smooth flight and landing. Pleased overall."
Pros: "Efficient and helpful."
Cons: "Air Canada failed to transfer my bag from flight 1 to connecting flight 2. This not only happened to me but to other people traveling on the same connecting flight as well. My bag was delivered later then the promised time, it was also returned damaged. It is now almost one week since I have taken my flight and I am unable to process a claim because they have not updated my file via their Bag Tracer program. It is clear that they still have a lot of work to do to be considered a real commercial air line company"
Cons: "Nice flight"
Pros: "everything was perfect"
Cons: "We had to purchase food ."
Pros: "It was a quick flight"
Cons: "The attendants on the flight were very unprofessional - they laughed the entire time during our boarding and safety demo. They were more interested in talking to the ground crew outside then welcoming the guests on their flight."
Pros: "2 seats together"
Cons: "no wine with dinner awful service felt we were bothering the staff movies on AC app were awful food was awful damaged brand new luggage and said they didn't cover the damage awful awful awful"
Pros: "The crew was nice. That's about it."
Cons: "Flight left late. Customer service at ticketing were nasty and rude. Was charged 25 dollars to check a bag on a international flight. The layover in Toronto was a nightmare!! The whole process of customs, rechecking your bag, and Canadian security was way too long and cumbersome. On top of that my flight to the US ended up leaving 1.5 hrs late and most of the wait time no gate attendant was even there."
Pros: "AC gave special seats for free when we told our travel agent that we did'nt like to be seated in the back of the plane. V"
Pros: "Very easy checkin, nice aircraft, very clean, friendly staff."
