Cons: "Due to weather patterns, we sat on the runway for 3 hours waiting to take off. There was approx. 50+ planes ahead of us. I know this because I was sitting next to an off-duty pilot on his way home. About 2 hours in, there was 30 planes left to take off, and then us. They air traffic control people were only letting off one plane per minute which is what was holding us. THEN after the 3 hours on the runway, our crew timed out and the brought us back to gate saying we were not taking off. At the gate, they informed us the flight was not 'cancelled' but 'delayed' to the following morning. I/m not sure how a 16 hour difference is considered 'delayed', but I digress. All Delta reps had NO idea the time of the new flight the following morning and told us all to just 'keep checking the app'. Now, fortunately for me I live in Brooklyn and could just go home. But what about everyone who was at LGA as a layover? I heard from multiple passengers they had to spend the night in a hotel, that Delta did not pay for. We finally got notice the new flight was scheduled for 9:30AM, which they AGAIN delayed until 11:30AM. Many people did not get the second change, and were already at LGA for the 9:30AM flight. To say Delta's handling of this was poor is an understatement. We knew when we got on that plane the crew was going to time out. Again, I was sitting next to an off-duty pilot who told me to 'get comfy, we're gonna be here awhile' the minute I sat down. Delta should have given us a fresh crew, or had a backup one prepared. I understand the weather is out of there control, and I understand you can't have a tired crew piloting an airplane, but there are other ways to have us take off remotely on schedule."

Pros: "For a short-haul flight on a small CRJ, it was the most pleasing and comfortable flight. No delays and everyone was pleasant from ground staff to flight crew."

Cons: "Gate changed in the last minute and non-English speaking wheeler chair customer (my 89 years old mother) was left at the old gate by their wheeler chair services and no agent at the gate knew about her. Both round trip flights! This is totally NOT acceptable. She could have been lost and with no ability to help herself and miss the flights. It was lucky that she found Chinese speaking customers to help her."

The plane was late to arrive at the gate and we were also told that while the pilot was ready to take off, we couldn't leave because we were waiting for a flight attendant to land from Pittsburgh (we were in La Guardia airport in NYC). delta would rather I convenience the flyer instead of hiring more personnel or figuring out standby or backup plans for delayed flights."

This was compounded by sitting next to a man so large that part of my space was taken, and this was Delta Comfort. The only flight to Manchester was the next night and would have gotten us to Manchester by 6pm. I had to rent a car at midnight and drive the four hours to be able to attend the reunion I was flying up for."

I won a $50 Delta gift certificate! The captain had good communication with the passengers to keep us informed."

Cons: "Our flight was originally scheduled for departure at 7:45 PM. We got an alert stating that the flight was going to be delayed but we were already almost to the airport when I received the first message on my smartphone. We received three additional alerts making our total wait time at the airport 5½ hours before we could approach the gate and board the aircraft. Seating in immediate gate area was not comfortable. Boarding was chaotic at best with very little control and guidance provided by Delta staff. The audio over the PA system was difficult to decipher much of the time. The only other available boarding status information was presented on the screens stationed near the gate and indicated PREMIUM the entire time during our boarding process and was never updated. We literally had to scramble through the crowd to get to the gate desk and get our boarding passes validated so we could board our flight with our group of passengers. Our seating on board the aircraft was thankfully good which is why I rated Comfort as Okay. We were saddled with one more delay after the flight left the gate and taxied briefly down the runway and then sat there for almost an hour. My suggestions to improve customer satisfaction based on my experience would include the following 1. Provide extended alerts for passengers travelling especially if the anticipated delay is known to the airline more than 2 hours before scheduled flight time. 2. Improve seating in the waiting areas near all Delta gates. 3. Re-orient all staff in proper boarding process and utilizing all available resources properly to provide clear and intelligible (not speeding) overhead audio messaging and current boarding status prompts on displays. 4. Maintain or replace audio equipment if necessary to help improve quality of audio messaging in all boarding areas."

Cons: "Boarding process was ok (they bused us over to the plane and then had us walking out halfway to the plane's stairs before frantically sending us back on the bus because the plane wasn't cleaned yet). Not a big deal but we were traveling with a 10 month old so miscommunications like that cause a larger inconvenience than usual. The real downer on the flight was when we needed hot water quickly to warm our infant's bottle. The stewardess had begun beverage service and was about 8 rows away from us. My wife hit the call button, expecting the stewardness to come over somewhat quickly. Instead, she just continued beverage service and got to us about 15 mins later. By that point it was too late and the baby was wailing from hunger. When we asked why, knowing that we had a small child, the stewardness didn't just push the cart forward and attend to us more quickly, she said she didn't want to do that. No apology, not even a sense of remorse. At the end of the day, a customer's experience will always be tainted by poor service and that is what we received on our flight."

The fact that I was not able to select a seat, nor did I have one assigned to me until prior to an hour before boarding, gave me a bit of anxiety. I don't think it's fair to take away this option to those that get the "cheap, standard" tickets."

I am having knee surgery soon and the walk from security to gate 34 LaGuardia would have put me over the top with pain! Cons: "The fact that I was charged $150 to check a small cosmetics bag is no loose change ! I would have carried it on but my hand is in a brace and I has to have extensive surgery. Then yoy get to the gate, and they repeatedly asked for volunteers to check their bags for free. I think this is a very unfair policy and try to explain it to the curbside attendant. I literally cannot carry more than five pounds in my left hand until I get bone replacement surgery. I'm also having knee surgery soon and this small additional weight would be caused me excruciating pain ! They didn't care and still charged me $150 for a bag thats no bigger than 12 inches and weighs less than ten pounds. Thats the way you treat your first class passengers? One other quick note: the sausage and egg sandwich? that was served for breakfast was absolutely horrible! Thumbs down !"

Pros: "The flight attendants made the safety briefing extremely lively and personal, a wonderful break from the normal tedious process. The rest of the flight was quiet, uneventful, and pleasant in part due to their good nature. I cannot have gluten or soy, and I was brought a complimentary bag of potato chips that were gluten free - the one and only time this has happened! I hope to fly with this crew again someday."

Contrary to most of my experiences with WestJet over the past nineteen years, this was the worst, overall, trip I have ever had with them, from delays, to missing my connecting flight, to gross incompetence with the staff, to a failure to even empathize with our situation (with a baby!)."

Cons: "Unable to upgrade delta flight because it was a westjet code share flight, westjet unable to upgrade delta flight because it was to be done on delta servers. I was finally able to upgrade at the delta check-in counter for a higher fee than usual (ontop of the perfered seat upgrade I already paid for). I waited 1.5hrs after takeoff before I called staff for a drink. Over 2hrs before they officially started serving main cabin drinks and snacks. There was some turbulence but they could have served people by hand without the cart. They had no problem serving first class before, during and after takeoff."

Pros: "The cabin crew were outstanding on WS709 today. This is my fourth trip with Westjet, and today stood above. Diane was beyond efficient and pleasant while maintaining a smile and grace, while a number of unattended children were onboard. My seat was changed, and that's fine - mostly because of the manner in which the crew at Pearson handled it. Then, I couldn't resist giving up my re-assigned (centre) seat so that two sisters could sit together. The two folk in my row were lovely, they talked more than I did, but when I joined in, it was a genuinely pleasant conversation. Three strangers, meeting per chance. The woman next to me had given her seat up for a family to sit together, so it really was a chance encounter! Diane needs to be promoted!"

Should they have automatically been assigned two seats together - they were unaccompanied. As happens, an 'aunt-like' woman was seated next to them, and again, Diane was an another in-charge auntie!"

Cons: "- The unprofessional way the staff "sorted us out". Especially the lady at check-in. Our flight was from NY to Toronto and then connecting after a nine-hour layover from Toronto to London. On all flights, we got the seats in the middle of the aircraft allocated, which is challenging when you are on crutches. - The second flight to London was in a terribly old machine where the overhead compartments were not well equipped to accommodate my crutches. The only way they fitted was at the very back underneath all the luggage. So when I asked the flight staff to help me get my crutch to go to the toilet, as I could not get it myself, he asked: "do you really have to use it?". I considered that very rude! - The selling of the entertainment systems took forever, which meant that the food sale was very late. Almost 4 hours into the flight on an overnight flight is really late! Especially when people would prefer to sleep. Due to my medication, I had to wait for food, but it took forever. All in all, not the best experience"

That meant I also had to rebook my ground transportation an additional cost. Why they couldn't manage to get the first flight of the day out on time, I don't know. This stuff happens, and I am generally a patient and understanding person. That said, WestJet not only caused inconvenience and added expense, the airline had absolutely destroyed my snowboard bag. It was damaged so badly that I had to tape it up just so I could get out of the airport without losing my stuff everywhere. The WestJet employees didn't say anything about the damage, and clearly hoped I would just go away without making a claim. To make matters worse, they only pay part of the cost to replace my luggage."

Pros: "As a professional musician, flying with my viola is one of the most nerve wracking experiences, as if it is forced to be checked due to insufficient room for overhead baggage, it could be completely destroyed. As stated in Air Canada's online policy, passengers traveling with musical instruments that fit as carry on baggage are allowed to change to earlier boarding zones. After approaching a staff member with my viola, I wasn't simply assigned an earlier zone, but rather I was allowed to board first. On this principle alone I will be flying Air Canada again. Thank you!!!"

Cons: "To start, this flight was overbooked which I understand is a perfectly normal aspect of flying. However, the seats on this airline were so close to one another my legs were hitting the seat in front of me. I'm a thin 6' tall man, and I was uncomfortable the entire time. I've flown Air Canada many times but I've never experienced such a cramped seating experience with them. It was as if they added an extra five rows to the plane."

Pros: "The fact that I was rebooked immediately to my new flight AC-DC 705 at 8:50 am by two wonderful ladies at La guardia airport who comforted then boarded me unto a flight due to the fact that I missed my original flight. This occured due to the Airport being Unorganized! As I had checked in well before 3 hours and was on time for my original flight at 8:30 am."

What I hated is that when I arrived at my original gate A7 the gentleman who boarded my original flight was unprofessional, rude, basically ignored me and said "You missed your flight !" Not even taking the time to listen to my situation or guide me in my next steps of acquiring a new flight to go to my classes and home in Toronto!"

No reason to assume our flight would have special us president clearance to fly. And doesn't take 4hrs to figure that out. Then was not giving any assistance or comms on new flight. When called told best chance is 2 days for flight and was not providing any hotel voucher. We ended up driving from Toronto to NYC. We were irate!!!!!"

Cons: "I had 21Inch suitcase. but who helped me check in staff , he said my suitcase looks littlebit big charge me seccond luggage fee $35.... my suitcase 21Inch..it is cabin size...even I didnt use extendingzipper, when I see other people suitcase same size with my suit case or more ticker what I got more mad is my new suitcase got scratched, cracked. I paid $35 . I got broken suitcase ..no reson to do that .it is firsttime I used that... also flight is delayed 2 hours both time .this is understand. .. but I stil got mad, don't understand that silly staff. I regret I couldn't complained and choose aircanada. Also he never smile to customers not kind at all seems doesn't wanna work. From that , Whenever take flight to short distance I will use westjet or other one."

This is a normal behavior however, there employee decided to stop boarding because she said people were crowding. she stop boarding for another 20 minutes. Now, this was a large flight and there wasn't enough room for everyone to stand off to the side. She was rude and there was no reason for this especially when the flight attendant was already late. The plane was delayed 45 minutes due to this"

Pros: "I had a blood coat on my leg 2 months before my flight and the pain and swelling sometimes were unbearable, United was extremely accommodating, kind and courteous from the check in all the way to helping me retrieve my luggage in a wheel chair and that alone ease my pain, not having to do any extra effort was a huge relief on my legs. Definitely booking again with United and Kayak"
Cons: "TSA were less than basic, making me go up and down twice trough two different metal detectors and a body scan machine, then asking me to put both my hands above my head while standing up in the body scanner, a guy in a wheel chair who could only stand with a cane, these guys are barbaric but that's not the airlines fault."

I really wish I got both the voucher AND to hold onto my carry-on. And then, leg room on that flight was so bad. I am only 6ft tall and was squished in like a sardine."

Cons: "The line up process at LaGuardia was unorganized based on the preassigned number boarding system. There was no space to organize 1-5 as assigned on the boarding passes. Going and coming from LaGuardia, the flight gate was changed multiple times, then there was at least an hour and a half delay on the ground and an hour in the plane. We had to reroute to Neward because of air traffic situations, but the ground crew was not ready nor efficient in helping the throngs of people find transportation or understand the process The crew was sour, and when simply asked for a spoon, the guy said, "later" and of course, he never brought one. There was no friendliness or cordiality from these people. We were like cattle to them. I have never seen it so bad. I have watched what used to be a great airline with Continental, decline to a consistently subpar experience with United. I will look for other airlines to fly in the future. My experiences with Southwest have been much better in the last two years."

Cons: "After booking the flight I noticed that there was a 25 minute window between the time my flight was scheduled to land in my connecting city and the departure time of my connecting flight. Aware that most airline close the gate door and the flight 10 to 15 minutes before take off and the fact that it takes about 15 minutes to get off a flight after the aircraft door open, I was sure that this would be a problem. Also if I then had to change terminals that would be another 20 minutes. Long story short, I thought this was poor customer service on United's side. I called united the day before my flight and customer service rep assured me that it would be the same terminal and that these times are customary on the part of United. I then also mentioned this at the gate as well and talked to a very kind Flight Attendant. Everyone worked to put me at easy about this. My flight left 20 minutes late but made the time up while in the air. We landed I got off the flight in record time and asked a gate attendant to check my flight status. The flight and gate had been closed. They then had be go talk with a very kind woman at the customer service desk. She then moved me to a AA flight. She said "now the fate closes in 10 minutes so you probably won't make it but run". "You've got to be kidding me" i thought but she was so nice so I didn't question it... But I RAN!!! I didn't make it and AA customer service rep put me on the last flight out. I say in the airport for an extra 4 hours and ate lots of food I'm sure is slowly killing me as we speak. Happy to be safe and at home."

By the time I got there, there wasn't any other flights that I could take so I ended up having to take a connecting flight the next day. Cons: "My first flight was delayed by an hour and 20 min. I arrived at Dallas for my connector to Austin, 25 min before my departure time. I could have made it, however, the plane taxi'd at the gate for at least 10 min, then the door wouldn't open. When I finally got off, I sprinted to my next gate, thinking they may hold it for a few minutes as there were many people connecting on that flight to Austin, but instead they did the opposite. When I arrived there were other people waiting who had arrived 10 min before the departure time (also from a delayed flight) and the doors were already closed. There was no representative at the gate to even tell us this, until we had waited over 10 min, and when he arrived, he said the doors were closed, and all of us were too late. Why would you close the doors early, knowing that other connectors were coming in. Additionally, on my return trip, my flight was cancelled, and I never received a reason for its cancellation, just an automatic rebooking that put me back in New York a day late. I had to be on the phone for an hour, rebooking a flight that United didn’t have. They instead put me on an American airlines flight last minute that I barely made. This wouldn’t have been so bad if this wasn’t the second time this exact scenario occurred within two months, when my siblings attempted to return home for the Christmas holidays. United is terrible."

I had to push for gate agent to explore partners at other terminal easy to navigate to at LGA. - At the core a mechanical issue that could have been screened for during routing maintenance. - Channels for getting credit cumbersome and timely. Why can't a gate agent or representative on 800# issue a credit?"

Cons: "United Airlines gave away my seat without my permission. They gave it to keep a family together, which was ok except they never asked me if it was ok. Even when I got my ticket scanned right before boarding, no one told me about the change. I think the crew singled me out purely because I'm Asian so they thought I wouldn't say anything. They also gave away my aisle seat so I had to sit in a more crammed row and window seat. No compensation was offered, boarding took forever, and I had to check in my bag because they ran out of overhead compartment room. This was a horrid experience."

But we left late because the plane arrived late in Laguardia. I don't see how both the plane arriving to Laguardia late and departing from Laguardia late is due to air traffic controllers. No entertainment for a cross country flight and the entertainment from united wifi wouldn't work as well."
