Unorganized boarding, late boarding, cramped seating

Old plane

Everything was fine

Cons: "AC lost one of our suitcases and it did not arrive until late afternoon of the next day. Filled out a missing luggage report."
Cons: "Not much keg room for a medium size female."
Pros: "Crew was ok"
Cons: "No food for such a long flight not enough leg room"
Pros: "The crew did everything expected to make our flight enjoyable. Couldn't really have asked for more."
Cons: "We're fortunate we fly business when traveling to Europe, but the comfort on AC Rouge "premium economy" is VERY low. The dilemma is: comfort for a much longer business flight thru Frankfurt to Venice, or a slightly larger economy seat for a direct 8 hr flight YYZ to VCE. "Entertainment" - an iPad!"
Cons: "They didn’t put enough fuel in the tank and the pilot only noticed when we were next in line to take-off so that led to a 30 minute delay. Some terrible seat designer put the call button and light control on the armrest exactly where your elbow rests so every few seconds you would here a call bell."
Pros: "Really disappoint experience with air Canada when we were back from San Juan. We paid $40 for preselected seats but end up with none of them secured. I had to separated from my wife in different row and crowded into a middle seat that is I want totally avoided. Why we paid for such a bad experience?"
Cons: "Terribly small seats"
Pros: "Very roomy, comfortable seat, great service and a pretty decent meal for a two hour flight. The heated nuts are a nice touch."
Cons: "Few complaints, though the set back screen is certainly small compared to other airlines' offerings in Economy. (Emirates perhaps being the stellar outlier on this account.)"
Pros: "Boarding easy & fast"
Cons: "Plane lat, extremely hot, & only 1 explanation with no updates"
Pros: "Everything was cool. Great staff and got there in time good movies and snacks. No complaints."
Cons: "N/A"
Pros: "I loved everything!"
Cons: "Connecting flight in Toronto late 4 HOURS!!!!! There is no excuse for such delay. Another plane should have been made available for the flight."
Cons: "delayed and sat on tarmac for 2.5 hrs"
Cons: "the good service at the check in and on the plane, or the great entertainment service, are all shadowed by Air Canada service for families with babies. We live in Vancouver and use frequently either Air canada or British Airways. We have a 1 year old baby, and on BA we automatically receive family seats for no extra charge, which have extra leg room and option for a bassinet. even with a 1 year old baby they have a special seat for that age, instead of a bassinet which fits only new born babies, so our 1 year old baby could sleep in a chair for hours on BA flight we just took from London to Tel Aviv. we got to London on a AC flight from Vancouver, where we weren't given family seats unless we paid more, so we had to spend 9.5 hours with a 1 YO baby at our lap, the baby of course was miserable, so we were miserable, but not just us, everyone in our vicinity had to suffer the baby's crying. On the BA flight the baby could sleep in a special chair for older babies, placed where usually a bassinet is placed, or sit on the floor next to our legs (because there's so much more leg room in the family seats), something the 1 YO babies need very much. I will recommend anyone with a baby to never fly with AC, especially when you have great alternatives like BA."
Cons: "Why don't you give away cookies too?"
Pros: "I liked the exit row leg room. Not a big fan of the dreamliner layout, but they were very affordable."
Cons: "There was a 12-year-old seated next to the exit door. They tried to exchange his seat with other people in the exit row, but no one agreed to it. However, there were various open seats in other rows, some with 2 empty seats side-by-side. It baffles me that he could not move to another row."
Cons: "Was forced to check my carry on bag, even though it was the proper size and weight."
Cons: "Passengers checking luggage are better off waiting in the economy line - it moved much faster than the business class line."
Cons: "Close to a 4 hour delay. No explanation."
Pros: "Empty seat between us"
Cons: "No movies. Had to load app for entertainment. Then WiFi never worked"
Pros: "Considering it was a tiny aircraft the flight went very smoothly."
Cons: "Bumped off a direct flight from Toronto to Fort lauderdale with 6 other people. We all booked back in february. They are overbooking 5 to 10 percent now and kicking off the people who paid the least. There is no advantage to booking early only to be bumped. At the gate the AC employee said we would be credited 3 to 4 hundred dollars but we had to run to the customer service desk and then hop on an AC flight to Houston connecting with United Airlines to Fort Lauderdale. At the customer service desk a herd of people waited anxiously to be re booked and compensated. When they started handing out notice that they would send us 200 in the mail there was an uproar that fell on deaf ears. We then ran to get on the houston flight only to find out that flight was overbooked as well. We had to wait to see if they had any no shows. Fortunately I was able to stay on the plane. Upon arriving in Houston we were quickly ran to the United airline gate only to find out that Air Canada had dropped the ball again. We were not booked on the flight. Five of us had no seats booked , while I was booked to depart on a morning flight the next day with no accomodations arranged? Fortunately for us United Airlines picked up the ball and some how got us on the plane to Fort Lauderdale. Upon arriving around 1140pm! should have arrived at 5:20pm direct! we quickly ran to the AC terminal to get our luggage that was originally checked on the first flight. We were told that it would be there. AC employees with no concern at all told us it's not here and it would have been on the united flight that we just arrived on. After I explained that we werent even scheduled to be on the United flight by air canada, so there's no way it made it onto the plane. They looked at us like we were idiots, closed thier office doors and walked away. We ran back to the other terminal( shuttle buses stop at 11pm in Fort Lauderdale?) only to find no luggage again. Fortunately United picks up the ball again and traces our luggage back to Toronto, AC pulled it and left it sitting there. Because of Air Canada's inept employees I missed my rental car reservation and had to buy new clothes for the wedding the next day. They said they'd have the luggage to me by 11 am , it arrived at 11:30 pm the next day. Save yourself the hassel, fly any other airline other then the iconic continually bailed out by the federal goverment airline. If you know, no matter how bad your company and service is ,you will always be bailed out would you work hard? Probably not, hence the atrocious attitude and poor performance of this dead horse airline."
Cons: "Paying for checked luggage. You should include that in the ticket price for ease of getting through check in. Plus there was not alot of wickets open during the check in period causing a mass buildup of flyers."
Pros: "It is hard to like a trip when t h email outbound flight is delayed by 3 hours. Why didn't SC text us to let us know before we left for the airport. I had to find out from flight aware. It still is an insult that we have to pay for even the 1st bag placed in the hold. Also resented having to pay for soft drinks. Almost all the passengers refused the 2nd attempt by crew to offer paid soft drinks."
Pros: "Air Canada ground crew where very good and helpful as where all staff"
Cons: "Plane was overly cramped, if you eliminate one set of seats and only had 8 across and less row, I think you would make great improvements to overall customer satisfaction if the seating was mad alittle more comfortable"
Pros: "See my other flight comments"
Cons: "See my other flight comments."
Pros: "I loved the entertainment options, we must of had a very old plane on the trip there because it lacked entertainment unless you brought your own tablet/smart phone or paid to rent one. The food was terrible both directions, please fix that because it's a long flight to be hungry!"
Cons: "Food needs serious improvement"
Pros: "Lufthansa was amazing food, entertainment, condition of plane, service, etc... Compared to Air Canada! We had a Aur Canada ticket but it was Lufthansa operated. However, Lufthansa comfort not as good as we were cramped in small seats and couldn't see out on the long daytime flight because the window passenger closed all the windows (it was like being cramped in a cardboard box for ten plus hours... Thank heavens for the great drinks, food, water, and entertainment."
Cons: "Small seats. Window shades down all day on a daytime flight."
Cons: "To start with the boarding was like herding cattle. They could not control the people and people were just lining up all over the place regardless of their zone number. My husband is 6'6" and the leg room on the Air Canada flight was horrible. He had to sit with his legs out and the flight attendant kept asking him to put them in..he could not as they would not fit at all. He ended up standing up most of the 3 hour flight. I will never fly with this airline again."
Pros: "The entertainment system was fine as far as selection goes."
Cons: "The stewardesses were ranged from okay to outright grumpy though I understand how difficult it is to always be pleasent when working long hours in a confined space in the customer service industry they still failed me on this."
Cons: "Flight from Montreal to Vancouver was long with uncomfortable seats no pillow and no meals."
Pros: "Wish the longer portion of our flight was as pleasant as the short leg to Toronto."
Cons: "Was an overnight flight and not very comfortable but didn't expect anything different."
Cons: "There was no in seat screens for entertainment. Space was much more cramped than other Air canada flight we had. Knees were against seat in front. No snacks provided only drinks. Food was available for purchase."
Pros: "There seems to be more space at my seat in this plan and I received my luggage at the front of the line in LGA"
Cons: "LGA airport is a mess, they closed garage B at your terminal and I have to walk at least 1/2 mile to pick up me car."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "There was NO complementary food for a 5 hour flight. I didn't have a credit card to purchase anything"
Pros: "Landed alive in vancouver"
Cons: "Second time in two months that they delayed my flight by at least 3 hours."
Pros: "The flight was late. The plane was overcrowded. N explanation given until we were on the plane. They boarded us then made us wait in the jetway for 15 or 20 minutes. No room in the seats whatsoever"
Cons: "Most everything! Unapologetic about delay and gate changes. Lousy boarding. Plane uncomfortable."
Pros: "Crew's smiles and helpful"
Cons: "Very small seats"
Pros: "First time on Air Canada - I was pleasantly surprised on how well my flight went... I will definitely travel on Air Canada in the future..."
Cons: "I arrived before the earlier flight to Cleveland, but even though there was room on the flight for me Air Canada said I would have to pay $150 to switch to that flight. So I had to wait five hours (and the next flight was delayed) for no reason. Air Canada should be more accomodating to customers who want to take an earlier flight, as I had to wait around for no reason whatsoever."
Pros: "on time -thank you"
Cons: "my headset didn't work - it should have - the individual entertainment system on the flight was not working"
Pros: "I like the service s over all"
Cons: "Flight late, missed connection, lost luggage."
Pros: "The crew was very nice."
Cons: "The delay at the airport due to the ice."
Pros: "Price"
Cons: "I booked a seat to be seated right next to SO. However, upon check-in, they changed the seat without telling me. Fortunately, we were able to exchange seat to be seated together."
Pros: "Just awful"
