It took a login to the Cathay Pacific web site to figure out that with the rescheduled time, I would miss my connecting flight from HongKong to Boston if I didn't change anything. I managed to sort it out, though it took using my cell phone to place an international call to the HongKong Cathay Pacific office to get me on an earlier flight. I don't think this is an acceptable level of service -- had I not had WiFi access or an international capable cell phone, I would have been stranded in Taipei or HongKong an extra day. I think CP could have done more to notify and help remediate the situation knowing the implication of the rescheduled flight. Food also remains mediocre, though slightly better."

Pros: "Our plane was an A350 equipped with a new entertainment center. The captain was able to get our flight in early. Unfortunately, because of weather/immigration problems at the destination, we weren't able to disembark for another 90 minutes. But I think the cabin crew handled this well, handing out both drinks and snacks. The captain also kept us informed, and also seemed to play a role in negotiating with the airport authorities to allow us to disembark at another gate. Otherwise it may have been a longer ordeal."

Cons: "The main reason for my poor rating of this flight was because when we booked these flights, they were listed as having WiFi available on the flights. The two longer flights are 14+ hours each and happen during the workday for us. This is a total of 28 hours (times 3 people) that we were not able to have in-flight WiFi. Almost all of our work is done online and thus, we could do zero work whatsoever during this flight. We basically lost the equivalent of two whole workweeks because of this oversight about the WiFi, which is very, very upsetting and cost us a ton of money. One of us ended up having to book a separate flight home in order to not lose WiFi for the entire way back, which added another $900+ to our travel costs. Additionally, the crew was fairly unfriendly when we asked about this and seemed to not care at all about why we were upset. We understand that the in-flight crew cannot install Wi-Fi on the plane in the middle of the flight, but some understanding and apologetic behavior goes a long way with an upset customer. Additionally, they were rude whenever we called for service and asked them for anything, always seeming to be so bothered to leave their discussions in the back of the plane. Finally, I've flown many flights across the world and I have to be honest that this was the least comfortable and nice plane I've been on for such a long flight. You think upgraded planes with WiFi would be used for these extremely long flights. We're all very upset about our experience on this flight and would really like to be contacted about this flight and spoken with. We would like for something to be done for us to make up for this HUGE oversight and bad experience. We don't want to have to call the bank and try to get our charges reversed for the flights, but we definitely feel that we were sold something that was not what we experienced. My wife and I were seated in separate parts of the plane each in middle seats at the end of the boarding process when there was no longer any overhead room to store our belongings. Uncaring, unaccommodating crew, waiting area with not enough seats, and cramped seating on the plane with no possibility of sleep during an arduous seven hour flight."
Cons: "The United Boarding Agent repeatedly warned about the "SMALL" carry on compartments on the CJR aircraft and literally insisted we tag our carry ons to be set aside on boarding even though we knew they fitted OK. AS A RESULT when we got to Calgary we had to wait at the over size luggage racks for our carry ons to be delivered instead of them being set up for us as we left the aircraft which is normal!! Very frustrating!!"

Most of their planes did not have screens in the back of the seats. Instead they wanted you to watch on your personal device via their app which worked sub par. The baggage on the return flight was delayed and I almost missed my next flight even though I had a 2 hour 40 min layover. Thankfully that flight was delayed 1 hour and a half. Next time I will stick with airlines I know better. Delta, Emirates, and Qatar all offer superior service and upscale aircraft. The 2k spent was not worth what I received."
