Lacked flavor... quantity was great
I missed my flight to Osaka, cause must claimed baggage, re-checked and immigration & security clearanced in at Pudong.
They would not accomidate a flight change after I was delayed in an accident getting to the airport. One desk said there was a seat on the earlier flight and sent me out of the gate area to the front of the airport. When I got there a few minutes later they said no there is no seat. I was upset because I had to wait 6 hours now and go back through security again. I asked to speak to a supervisor. They pertended not to understand. I was persistant and then they siad oh here is a seat on the 1:00 flight. Then he goes do you want window or aisle. If there was no seats whey do I have a choice?
Everything about our flight went very well, and most were better than expected. The crew were very helpful. Our seats had plenty of room in economy. This were done very efficiently and with concern for value.
Our Vegan meals were rather tasteless and uninteresting. The only entertainment was what we brought with us and overhead monitors.

Business class service
One has to rush to be on the plane because the take off time is half an hour earlier, and we didn't get any notice beforehand.
Overall service was good. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Check in was efficient and fairly quick. There are signs in Chinese and English so it is not too difficult to find out where you need to go.
The flight was delayed almost 3 hours and not much communication about the delay. They made an announcement in Chinese and everyone started lining up. My gut instinct told me the flight was delayed because i saw food being stacked at the counter and then the peoole in front of the line was picking the food up and sitting back down. That is my only real complaint about this airline. The food was was okay.

The announcements regarding turbulence were more disturbing than the turbulence.... It was just too loud

Checkin was a breeze, the flight attendants were great, food was good, seats were comfortable, good selection of movies. What more can you ask for
Flight arrived in LA 30 minutes late. Then had to wait another 30 minutes for a gate to open. All in all, the flight arrived 1 hr late which is very inconvenient and annoying. And the crew isn't has friendly. The boarding time in Hong Kong took a very long time
One of the better airlines for a reason, great overall
One of the crewmembers (regrettably, I did not catch his name) was incredibly kind when I moved seats to accommodate a couple that wanted to sit together. He really made this flight great.
Seats were comfortable but the row I moved to did not allow me to recline.
I had to change my return ticket early because of an emergency and Air Canada charged me $481.00 whenI only paid $371.00 fora round trip. How is that possible?
Spacious aircraft, great flight attendants very clean bathrooms, lots of snacks and foods
