Cons: "The vents above my entire row of seats did not work, meaning there was never any air coming out even when they were fully open. This made for a long, hot, claustrophobic ride. The flight attendants seemed first disbelieving and later unconcerned that no air came out of our vents. I doubt they even reported them as broken after the flight. Delta's new boarding process is absolute chaos. More than half the plane had no seats assigned until 20 minutes before boarding, and the seats were displayed on a screen a good 25 feet away from the gate, meaning people had to constantly walk back and forth between the doorway and the screen. The gate agents were clearly overwhelmed. If this is how Delta is organized now, I won't be flying on them again."

So it wasn’t until we arrived at the layover point, we were told we had to pull the bags and re-check them in with Air Canada, go through the whole rigamarile of checkin, baggage check, and security. Not something you want to deal with when you are at the tail end of a red-eye flight. So thumbs down. In Westjet’s defense, they did give me a 200 dollar credit toward a future flight when I kicked up a fuss about the change to a 7-hour layover."

The self check-in machines for AA were a little "buggy" and difficult to navigate but helpful staff was readily available as were the short lines. I am 6'2" and was impressed that I had adequate leg room in my seat."

To my surprise, American Airlines had a ramp for us to use. I don’t know it it was a coincidence or if they responded that quickly knowing I was on the plane through todays’s technology. However after hours of waiting at the gate to get a better flight, an american airlines representative was able to rebook a flight to amsterdam via london that was still not until the following evening. I had to stay in philadelphia overnight and had to find a room on my own. The flight the next day went better however I still lost a day and a half of my trip. Unfortunalely for me, the issues did not end there. There was an issue in communication with british airways; american airlines never gave them the new flight details so british airways marked me as a no show for the Rotterdam flight and cancelled my return flight. By luck i called the day before my flight back to the US since i felt something was wrong. British airways representative was able to rebook me on a similar flight for the same day. Will most likely not use this airline again for international flights"

So we did, but their earliest we could get us into Chicago was 9:30pm (original arrival was 2pm). We booked the arrangements only to find out that our original flight took off at 10:55 and American didn't even attempt to contact us. The cherry on top was that our flight (which was indirect through SFO) got delayed and we're now going to miss our connection in SFO. So currently looking at 10:30pm arrival in Chicago."

We had to beg at each intersection to get through lines so that we could get to our flight. Is ther no way to streamline this process? It colours the journey with stress beyond belief. I cannot send my mother on any such trips because of this."

Cons: "When I buy an apple computer and pay apple prices, I don't expect to open up the box and find a PC in there. When I bought tickets with Air Canada, I expected to fly with Air Canada, not United. I don't know how it's even legal for you to sell me one thing, have me pay for it, and then give me another. My experiences with Air Canada have been fine. My experience with United was terrible. Their check in devices freeze and don't give proper instructions or feedback, and my tray table was taped shut because it was broken. The tape looked like it was a year old. It is not ok to fix an airplane with tape. This is terrible for both of us. Now you - Air Canada - are sharing in United's PR disaster because you've effectively said buying tickets from you might just be a bait-and-switch for buying tickets with them. Upon purchasing tickets "your" customers have no way of knowing what they're going to get. I'd much rather book with an airline that sells tickets for its own flights, or at least tells customers when they're buying something else instead of lying to them."

The other served by pouring only some of the can into a cup. Again, this does not meet industry standards, from the perspective of a reasonably well-traveled flier."
