I had a reservation to pick up a vehicle at Ace Car Rental at LGA on June 7, 2025. When I got to location via airport shuttle to pick up the vehicle I reserved, they told me my reservation had been cancelled and to call customer service. Customer service said they cancelled the reservation but mistakenly did not contact me. The supervisor of the representative offered me a “deal” to pay 100.00 more for my reserved vehicle, take it or leave it. Terrible. I decided to make a reservation with Alamo and was completely satisfied.

Worst vehicle rental experience I have encountered. Shuttle service was appalling. Numerous hidden costs and continual addition of charges. Absolutely will not ever rent from Fox in the future. Lesson learned.
They charged me extra money for the rental because they said I showed up “late”, and then tried to convince me this was actually a deal that is saving me money. This place is a scam.

I had reserved a mini van for pick up 2:00 pm on July 4th dropping off at 2:00 pm on July 5th. I was not notified by call or email. I only found out that the reservation was moved to Kily 5th pick up at 7:00 am and drop off 11:00 pm via my calendar. I would never have booked that as my departure flight was at 3:05 pm. Very disappointed. Avis ctold me to contact Kayak and Kayak told me to contact Avis. Will not use Kayak to verify book another vehicle rental.

The whole process was smooth, especially once I got to the rental counter. I waited for almost 30 min for a shuttle along with many other people as shuttles from other rental agencies passed by multiple times. The driver was very patient and professional even though a few customers mistreated him because they were upset about the wait time. I thought he handled it extremely well. So I would recommend making sure there are always plenty of shuttles.
Hertz canceled my appointment and moved the rental to another inconvenient location the night before the rental was due. The new hertz also lost my ezpass and the car felt old and way passed it's prime.
