I had booked in advance and got a confirmed reservation for a SUV but when I went to the Hertz office in LA, the car was not available. The staff just shrugged saying a conformation does not mean the car is available. Really? What else do I need a confirmed reservation for but to make sure the desired car is really there? They gave me a car that was damaged, tank half empty, dirty, low tire pressure warning on, much to small. I had to cramp 5 people with luggage into a compact. Calling Hertz was useless, I never got a chance to talk to a real person. I had to physically drive to different locations and ask to get the right car. The ideal experience. I am a med student and thus pinch pennies and accept some inconvenience to do it. It was far cheaper for me to rent a car a few days from this place in Culver City than the airport even accounting for ubers to and from. The car was clean and pick up and drop off were so easy. I spent longer waiting for the uber than dropping off my car. Will definitely use again next time I am in Los Angeles.Reviewed 7 Dec. 2021

Pros:It was absolutely awful. We ubered up to Los Angeles to pick up the car and they were sold out of cars for 2 days. It ruined our trip. It was TERRIBLE. We were stranded with all of our luggage and no ride. We had to Uber to Palm Springs which was 5x the cost and had to cancel the portion of our trip going south bc of the cost of Uber’s.Cons:Don’t sell cars if you don’t have them to sell!!! Pros:Friendly staffCons:I was overcharged and was given a dirty car. With Covid19 going on, the car should have been cleaned. The attendant did however do a quick wipe down. I also tried calling to dispute my rental charges and I have not gotten a hold of anyone. I was overcharged on the daily rate and then charge for another full day of damage waiver; just by being an hour late. I tried to call to let the location know I was going to be late by an hour but no answer. I also was charged an hourly fee.Reviewed 31 Mar. 2020

Pros:Everything except the size of the car.Cons:The car was listed as an SUV, but it could barely ... and I mean BARELY ... fit four adults and their luggage. The backseat passengers had to share their space with one of the suitcases and several smaller objects. Not comfortable for the trip to/from LA and Vegas.Reviewed 19 Jun. 2019

Patient staff during a busy afternoonPros:I was having some difficulties with my card when I was picking up the car, and the woman helping me was very patient and helpful while I called my bank, updated addresses, etc. They were very busy at the time and she kept her cool and provided outstanding customer service.Reviewed 16 May 2017

Drop-off disasterPros:Nothing - the office is very difficult to locate, tiny, cramped and at the time I was there, was headed by a very unfriendly, unhelpful rep.Cons:The following morning after returning home on the spare tire at 4am, I called the local drop-off office in Culver City, CA to advise that I would be an hour or more late in returning the car and was told that there would be no extra charge. When I arrived at the counter, I was treated rudely by the rep and charged for an extra day. A customer call service rep removed the unwarranted charge, but I feel the situation was handled poorly and that I should not have been placed under jeopardy by driving a long distance on a spare tire that the installer said was good for 50 miles only.
