FYI The location does not offer drop off after 4pm. There is no after hours drop off. I needed to leave my personal vehicle and there is no parking at the location and there is very little street parking. I was running late and need to leave ASAP. When I got into the vehicle the odour and intensity of the smell was nauseating. The location uses automotive perfume to camouflage odors and must have dumped the bottle into the heating vents. That’s in addition to a perfumed tree air freshener hanging from the rear-view mirror. I am not sensitive to smells yet this made me feel ill, gave me a massive headache, and made we want to vomit! I dove with the windows down despite it being cold and hoped the smell would dissipate. My wife who is sensitive to smells could smell the gross perfume from outside of the vehicle and would not ride in it. We still ended up using 2 vehicles to get to our destination and defeated the purpose of renting a vehicle. It was a complete waste of money. When I returned the vehicle the people behind the counter asked if everything was to my liking and I told them. They could not have shown less interest in my experience with them and proceeded to tell me what they were going to debit my credit card. They could have saved my time and energy by not asking me for feedback. I will never rent from Hertz and specially this location. I highly recommend going elsewhere.

I was totally satisfied with the gentleman that served me. He made the start of my vacation so pleasant. The car that he chose for me was fabulous. No complaints, no problems would definitely be back again.

Pros:

The car was amazing but the upgrade ended up costing me double the gas from the original car class. Instead of an SUV I would of kept the Economy car and saved on gas.

Cons:

On top of costing more in gas, I got to use the windshield washer only once to notice it was empty. Had to stop and pay an extra 6,75$ for washer fluid on a RENTAL. Who’d guessed it wasn’t included in the fees and taxes!

Pros:

Put On 4700 k.m. In nine days and no hint of annoyance. nice smile quick turnaround. However, two years aga I had reserved a car for five days starting Monday 9 a.m. When I got there, there was no car available. Was told I could get one in the p.m. No remorse, no excuses. That is why I had not rented from them in two years. This time, all was good.

They tried to rip me off! didn't provide me with a damage for the existent damage and the employee said will provide it latter but I took pictures before I use the vehicle. Now they are saying the car never been damaged and I have to be charged for the old damages as according to their system the car never been damaged and the vehicle year is 2021! I disputed it and sent my proves but it is very poor management and it is stress and anxiety no needs for me to go through I put down a cheaper options to be with reputable company but National/Enterprise prove me wrong.

I never got a car. They said that if the reservation was made less than 24 hours before there were no cars available. Get it together.... don't set up your system to allow reservations if there are no cars available. It reminds me of airlines overbooking flights.

The pick-up and drop-off from and to the airport was seamless and very well organized. I wish we would have been told how to use the ETC (electronic toll collection) as you apparently have to insert an EC card. So when time came and we wanted to use a expressways we stumbled upon some troubles that could have been easily avoided by informing us. Everything else was perfect: the car was super clean and the staff very friendly.

How can any words describe the experience I received??? Online the quote I agreed was £330 for 5 nights hire of a mini convertible. On the day I arrived I was told this figure was not correct and I should now pay £400 plus an additional £135 for insurance. Ok insurance fair enough, it’s high but it’s still a choice, but why the additional £70 above quoted price, which by the way stated includes ALL fees! However it get far worse, on the final day our flight was cancelled so I emailed asking to extended my booking 1 day… A new invoice arrives… £780!!! So what started at £330 ended up at £780… take off the £135 for insurance that’s an un-expected increase of £315 for an additional days hire… Oh and what did the advisor say at the airport… ‘Welcome to Switzerland, get used to it!’ Complaint raised, but of course no response…

They required 2 forms of photo idea (not warned ahead of time) because I booked within 24 hours. Never seen this in my life after hundreds of rentals. Everything else was sold out and i took a $200 uber instead.

I had a good experience with Routes this time. It took 10 minutes to be picked up at the rental center even though it was 1 in the morning. The car was great and when I brought the car back they dropped me at the terminal.

I had prepaid my booking with Europcar via Kayak. Upon arrival at the rental counter at 7:00AM, the person told me I couldn't rent a car because my current driver's license had only been issued on 8/17/23 and was less than 12 months old. He said that without a copy of my prior license, which of course I didn't have, he couldn't release the vehicle and would therefore cancel the reservation. When I said I'd already paid for the reservation, he said he couldn't help me on the refund, and that I'd have to deal with Kayak. When I told him I rent a vehicle on average once a week, all over the world, and have never had this problem; and also told him I'd been driving for almost 50 years, he said it didn't matter. He said this was Europcar's policy. So, I walked to the next counter (Enterprise) and hired another rental car. It was a terrible experience. I will never rent from Europcar again. Please help me obtain my refund. You should see in the system that Europcar canceled the reservation. Thank you.

I had to pay so much extra because apparently the insurance I had didn’t cover Expedia/economy car rental despite said insurance covering every other car rental agency. So either I was lied to or it’s just economy and I’m never going to rent from them/expedia again. I was also given a number to call travel guard which is not able to cover after the rental purchase was made. The car was also full of dog hair. In total this rental cost me 200$ instead of the 40 +30 I paid for the rental and insurance initially. Huge rip off. Took forever and is so inconvenient to get to without a car! Insane. Never again.

Took a long time to get the car. First of all, there shuttle only comes to remote rental car center near LAX. You need to take a bus to get there. Then you take there shuttle to get to their office. It took me almost an hour to get the get and be on my way. There were two agents working the desk and they were really helpful but, the whole process was slow. I had to wait a long time.

After my experience with this company I understand why they have a low score, initially I let myself be carried away because they offered me a very low price, but when I pick up the car the cost was going to be higher than the other companies with better score, so I decided to go and rent with another company, I do not recommend ECONOMY RENT A CAR for anything, very bad service and unethical

Total rip off like priceline who mentioned Unlimited kms on the invoice and then refused to refund me. They started showing me terms and policies when the Invoice clearly shows Unlimited kms. Spolied my trip. Lost my money and had to book another place. Waste of time. Terrible experience.
