We arrived at a very busy time but every member of the staff was friendly, kind, and helpful. The vehicle reserved for us was a little too small because our sons are 6’7 and 6’5 but the attendant didn’t even blink an eye. She said give me a sec and she found us a Ford Expedition which was perfect leg room for our giants ;). We weren’t the only ones who had special requests but through it all were so impressed with how the staff remained calm and were quick to come up with solutions. We would definitely rent from this location again!

First and foremost when I arrived there, they did not have the car that I reserved and instead of try to accommodate me, they tried to give me a minivan. It was for my son’s eighth grade ball. I reserved a Tesla or something similar but a minivan to accommodate me. No no apology was given or anything I never reserve or rent from them again.

Cons:

"They do not apply Enterprise procedures in offering Customers the free Pickup and Dropoff service for their clients. I find that this Enterprise has a very condescending way in talking to its customers. When asked why the website and answering service offers pickup and/or delivery to customers they blamed it on being short staffed and this service is for only customers that reserve cars for many days. I was asked if I could take public transportation. The employees starting with the manager is very condescending."

Even though I had requested car be dropped off at private terminal, it had not been and I had to go to main terminal for car!

Cons:

Car had problems, low tire and engine light came on, had to exchange vehicle!

Pros:

The 500 Oxford Street West are my boys, they always help and are great people to deal with. The car was good on gas mileage, really good.

Cons:

Instead of base model cars they could have higher quality packages for the cars. The prices could be lower, you know (Daily Rates) The cleanliness of the cars could better, one thing they almost always miss is thevfront windshield of the car, and that's usually on the inside. (Sorry boys)

I rent a van to pick my family from Airport, van was a Pacifica Chrysler with only 8000 km on it, Car-washed and cleaned super nice. The whole process was very smooth including the price. I highly recommend Hertz.

Consistently poor service. This visit, they didn't even check over the car of help us to find it, just gave the key. It was locked up in a back area and we had to go move the gate, move the car, then move the gate again to get out. The car pulled hard to one side and it was a mess. I only rent from them when there is NO other choice.

Staff was the best! Drove me to my house to get another credit card. Quick service!

Cons:

The ease of rental in regards to what is required. (Unable to use a Visa debit to purchase) A 360 of the vehicle is necessary so that I am not blamed for any damages. This was not done before my departure.

Cons:

Prices found online are subtotalled. My booking had shown that I would owe about $130 at pick up. But was not told about the additional taxes and coverage per day. This had made it go up to nearly $300 dollars for 4 days. I’m upset that I was told a different price than found online.

When I made the reservation online it was for a truck...and a reservation confirmation was sent to me. Then I got a call from the company while I was driving to the store to pick up the truck, because they actually don't have a truck but they can give me a van with the same price. When I got the invoice it was 20 cad more...finally I ended renting a truck the next day in the morning from enterprise...Improve your service...

Pros:

The Customer Service at the pick up and drop off were really friendly, helpful and on the ball. The price was as expected from my booking, and I was happy with $20/day for the car.

Cons:

The pick up location was changed via email less than 1 day from the pick up time (car was booked 5 days in advance). Every time I spoke with an Avis CSR on the phone, I was given different information as to why that is. The website is inconsistent with information about that as well, as I can still book at the 'closed' location. Very frustrating to be given different bits of information over and over again. It started with me calling in to confirm my reservation and costs (1 day after booking) and everything, including the pick up location, was confirmed. To the follow up calls about the change in location and the change in drop off location without notice. Definitely frustrating and still trying to work this out.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
