The first car to which I was assigned smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. I had to go back to the counter and wait in line behind several other customers to ask to be assigned to another vehicle. The representative, while not very pleasant and certainly not apologetic, did give me another vehicle, which was not very clean. The vehicle (Ford Escape) performed fine and then the drop-off on return was quick and easy.

The amount stated for booking was tripled at pickup, so Kayak never actually gave me a deal on my rental. I will NEVER recommend Kayak for deals, you guys don't make deals on price only book the vehicle.

We waited 2 hours for our car to be “ready” and they still have it to us dirty. The car was really old.

I liked that I was able to get the vehicle fairly quick. I didn’t like the first vehicle I was offered had a huge dent across the side of the vehicle. It was smashed in, in my opinion, shouldn’t be able to be rented.

Car was incredibly basic without even Bluetooth connectivity. However, the price I paid was very low too and the car, although basic, was of a very good standard. Helpful staff and quick service. Car spotlessly clean.

Made a reservation 2 days prior to reservation date Paid for it in full Arrived to find hertz closed and car wasn’t even available they rented it out to someone else and put me on waiting list stating it’s first come first serve Really????

Pros:

Its great t have rental cars at the airport and also in downtown, where the rental rates are lower.

Cons:

This review has nothing to do with Enterprise!!! It has to do with the KAYAK web site, not a human in sight, no doubt, not keeping up with enterprise. I made 3 reservations over two days for cars in Moncton via KAYAk. The rental outlets phoned me back to say sorry, no cars. Got a Uhaul P/U!!!

Efficient place! There was no car for us when we got to enterprise so they drove us to another location to get our car. Free upgrade, friendly staff (Nabo) and a ride to the airport! Thanks!!

The problem with the rental was that the price that we were supposed to pay almost doubled from what we originally agreed upon with kayak. They somehow drew up two different contracts. They showed us what we were going to be charged, but then they used another contract to actually charge us a way different amount. We are going to dispute this charge with our credit card company to try to recover our losses.

I thought pick up was speedy and the plus was I was able to get a free up grade to an automatic. I had pre purchased car insurance through what I thought was Kayak like the car rental, but Alamo wouldn’t accept the coverage and had to repurchase car insurance at the airport. My car did have a low tire pressure light come on a few hours after renting. It appeared fine to the eye and since we were staying local, we didn’t return the car to Alamo.

The Alamo service was great. The car was horrible. I had to drive it for 4 hours to get to my destination and it was so uncomfortable. the worse are I have ever driven.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
