They completely overcharged with hidden fees with no explanation or receipt. Just charged more then $400 ok my credit card after I paid in advance the rental car fees.

It was really hard to find the shuttle driver and when we did it took us to a sketchy feeling part of town took us into a warehouse and had us talk with a representative with a very heavy accent over a computer screen. We were not told where to bring the car back - turns out we had to find the sketchy warehouse back and they could not take us back to our hotel even though it was closer than the airport.

There was a minor scratch at the bottom of the front bumper which is not visible unless you are on your knees. As far as I am concerned we didn’t do anything to cause it. It may be already there and we didn’t notice when we took the care at midnight. At any rate my gripe is with how they handled this situation. We bought most expensive coverage possible with them which is twice the rental price itself. But during checkout they stalled us because of this issue even though we told them that we are cutting too close to our departure time and requested them to call the insurance and get it reimbursed because we already bought the coverage. But they insisted on us calling them and we couldn’t because we didn’t have local mobile plan. After lot of back and forth they checked other contracts on the vehicle and probably figured out that the damage was already there and the let us off the hook. It was a happy ending but the whole drama could have been avoided if they had customer service at the forefront of their minds.

I actually cancelled my reservation after finding out that their hours of operation start at 8:00AM. That doesn’t work for returning a car when you have a 6:30 AM flight. Would have been fine if they operated 24 hours.

When I went to pickup my car, I had to wait ~1 hour to speak with someone at the desk. The agent I spoke to at the desk lied to me and said that I cannot use my personal auto insurance and had to use their plan. I call their corporate number later and the confirmed that agent was incorrect and refunded my money spent on the insurance. The car they had reserved for me was stuck behind several cars on the lot and inaccessible. Because of this they tried to give me another vehicle in the same class. The replacement they picked had visible damage/dent to the multiple panels, doors, and bumper. I started documenting all the damage in detail and taking pictures, the agent started getting visibly annoyed. He ended up providing me with a different car in the end. When I came time to drop off the vehicle, the lot nearly full and there was a line extending into the street just to enter the lot. I'm still waiting to deposit to be returned and I anticipating that I will need to call their corporate office again. This was an extremely poor experience through and through. I will never rent from Mexrentacar ever again, and I will never recommend their services to anyone.

When I arrived, they told me that they did not have the car. i then went to the rental agency next door and they coincidentally has the same car at but at double the price. The cars all came from the same lot and had no Budget or other agency stickers to distinguish one from another. When I returned the car, there was a person waiting for the car who has just experienced the same scam.: rented online from Budget at one price, was told there was no such car on arrival, went next door and paid double for fhe same car. Total scam.

The car wasn't there. There was no rental, the reservation wasn't honored. And even if they had had a car they would have demanded an extra $22/day in mandatory insurance that was never indicated in the rental agreement and would have priced them out no matter what.

Nothing, we arrived and the unhelpful man working at the counter told us that there were no cars available and didn’t know when there would be again. I asked him how I was able to make a reservation if there were no cars available for rent and he simply shrugged his shoulders and told us to go across the street to Hertz. He was clearly not interested in assisting us and didn’t seem to care at all that we booked online in advance. Kayak should not route their customers to this company for booking.

They took the money and they never show up to pick us up from aireport. We wated for 2h and then I managed to call the company, the manager was very unfreindly and said he'll send someone in 20 min. But no-one showed up. I do not recommand this car rental company. It's a scam.

The pick up experience was atrocious. From beginning to end it lasted over two hours. The vehicle I had rented was not available for me or any of the other guests that were there. Instead, they were offering little cars instead of the SUV promised. (in fact I did not see this particular model of car anywhere in Cancun so I doubt they have it in the first place). I was met with the most horrible customer service from the rental car agent, Angel. He was arrogant and condescending. Raising his voice at me, and being just simply mean for no reason. I’ll never forget his rudeness and his desire to make my experience as bad as possible. The only positive note is that after completely insisting on a taller car due to driving around my elderly parents, he gave in and gave me a small SUV that they had. This car was mechanically damaged but in the end, it did what I needed it to do. Infinity, never again .

Had to wait 50mins at the airport for their shuttle. Adding insurance multiply the price by 5. They dont have the cars they display. Ended with an old car for a price higher than in the US. You can’t really change your mind as the car rental is remote.

Unfortunately, my experience was quite unpleasant due to several issues. Firstly, there was a significant delay in picking us up from the airport. Despite being assured by Supervisor Alejandro that the wait would only be 10 minutes, we ended up waiting for 45 minutes. Furthermore, Alejandro's demeanor was quite arrogant and unprofessional. Upon finally being attended to by Ricardo Buenfil, we were provided with a car that was far from safe for travel. The vehicle's front and rear suspension were compromised, lacking proper alignment, and the rear tires were at a mere 20% of their lifespan. This not only made for a hazardous journey but also resulted in an overcharge of $160 USD. Overall, it was a deeply disappointing and troubling experience.

NOTHING! They did not have a car for us! They confirmed that a reservation was made in our name but told us that since the car was not paid for in advance, car was given out to someone else. The site did not request payment at the time of reservation. They offered to give us another car for triple the cost! They told us that you should never use a third party site like Expedia or Kayak so don't waste your time making reservations with this company, they were not even sorry that we got stranded without transportation.

The office is hard to find and upon return they made my wife wait outside due to Covid ( even though when we came to pick up the car we were both allowed in the office). Furthermore I waited in the office for half an hour for them to give me my paperwork after asking twice for it they kicked me out. I now have the entire $2500 deposit pending on my credit card. Meanwhile we barely caught our flight back to the states thanks to this terrible experience.

You should communicate more with each other. In the rental: 1) they didn't have the car at all 2) the price was much higher (from 75 to 185 dollars) I was told that you know it but do not regard it. Make it better please. We solved it directly with Hertz in the end. Have a nice day! Petr

Absolutely nothing. Even with a reservation, many days in advance, there was no car for us when we arrived at the rental place. On top of that, the thrifty rental office was closed and everything was being operated through the Hertz office. Worst experience I’ve ever had.

I didn't like anything. I booked a car for 100 usd for 5 days. When I arrived I was told that it is 200 usd, as the initial amount did not include taxes and service fees (100%!!!). Also the insurance was + 300 usd. So, instead of 100 it turned out to be 500. It is insane.

It was a real joke. The rental company asked me for 10k USD deposit to rent the car. I travel a lot and I use to rent cars all over the world and I was in shock when they asked me for this deposit. I was not renting a Ferrari or Porsche it was an economic car. I do not recommend to rent from there. The rental is managed by Firefly which has essentially bad reviews on the net.

Terrible, waited 2 hours and 40 min. First they gave me a car that had a flat tire, once fixed the mechanic realized there was imperfection with the front end suspension and recommended a change of vehicle. That took another hour, I asked to speak with a manager 3 times but kept being told his coming but never got there. Highly unlikely to rent here again .

Para enpesar me estafaron porque llege al aeropuerto y abian rentado mi camioneta y no tenian nada mas para darme me dessepcione. Mucho porque ya tenia todo planeado y tube que rentar con algien mas y mi dinero no me lo querian regresar

I made 2 reservations, and in one of them I DIDNT GET THE CAR. Their argument: my Id and drivers license are from a different country than my credit card. SUCKS BIG TIME. I was literally left on the street. Stop dealing with them.

The counter at Cancun Airport told us that the pickup shuttle will be there in 6 to 7 minutes. It did not arrive till 45 minutes after! The car was not ready and we had to wait 15 minutes for it.

We arrived in the terminal at the MEX desk at 13:00 but were told to return to the desk once our luggage had been collected. When we returned we then had to wait for another group to decide whether they wanted to use MEX. We then had to wait for the shuttle to arrive and go via the International terminal before finally getting to the Car Hire station. Waited 15mins before being seen to then be told that the car had been released because we had not presented ourselves at the station, not at the desk in the arrivals/baggage hall, at 1pm. Terminal staff should have alerted us to the fact as they were shown the booking details at the desk. According to the agent the car was released at 3pm. We had arrived at the car rental kiosk by 3pm. We were given the options of a) paying an extra $342 for a larger vehicle which was at the car hire station; b) wait a MINIMUM of 90 minutes until a car of the grade we had booked turned up; c) go to another company. The justification given was that all conditions were stated in the booking email. Conditions WERE stated but didn’t fully relate to the experience at the airport. Having chosen to take the larger vehicle, all paperwork was completed by 15:29 but the vehicle was not actually presented until 1550. The condition of the car was reasonable, one of the wind mirror covers was missing, but overall we would be extremely reluctant to use MEX by CAS ever again.

We went for the cheap and cheerful option and this was spot on. No frills but the pick up and drop off was extremely quick and easy.
