I will never use Sixt again. I pre-paid for a car rental. Two days before arrival I was informed that they had no cars, but they would help me - on arrival - to find a car from a different rental company. On arrival the desk in the terminal was unmanned. No one answered the phone at the other terminal. Only messages received were via WhatsApp. After over an hour I rented a car from a different rental firm. Sixt refused to initiate the refund until the day of my departure. The monies arrived today but the experience was awful.

We booked a car rental to be picked up at 9pm. The info we were sent said the rental place was open till 11. They actually closed at 7pm the girl said so we had to take a cab to our hotel then back to the rental place the next day to pick up the car. Plus still have not gotten a refund for the day we didn’t get the car

Being more understanding with personal issues and offer solutions, I’ve never use the car because my flight was changed and I wanted modified the pick up date and was not possible so I pay without using the service.

The car itself was full of dents and scratches and halfway through the trip started rattling badly. Also had really bad cup holders and storage in the drivers area.

Nothing. There is no one thing which I likes.

Cons:

They ripped me off. Overcharged. Used our poor language, threatened us, made us sign paper without explanation under pressure. They said ALL THIS HAS TO BE ON CONTRACT. BY later in their email they said it wasn't necessary. We pay over $600 more. The Allianz insurance wasn't legit for their policy.

When we pick up the car, they did not want to grant the price per the reservation. He insisted that the system was showing 150 more of what the reservation was made. We had to insist for him to check with his manager for him to find a way to fix. At the end the manager told him to fix it. But his attitude was unkind.

I didn't like that it was a very misleading experience. I booked through Kayak.com at a price and when I got to Hertz they said that they couldn't give me the value I was offered on the website and charged me double of what I expecting to pay.

The insurance we reserved was a joke. It was 10 dollars a day on the Kayak site only to find out when we got to the Hertz facility they wanted to charge more for insurance than the entire car rental price. We had 2 dents on the car that I told the hertz guy about. He saw them and agreed, but didn't add them to the damage sheet! So, at the other end, they are trying to charge us for dents that I have pictures of on my phone! The language barrier was a joke. If I have to pay for damage that was already on the car, I'll be coming back to Hertz for this.

Was quoted a price and when I picked up the car I was downgraded to an suv that was not close to a “Tahoe or similar vehicle”. I was forced to sign into multiple types of coverages that according to the rep were mandatory. Price more than doubled from quite. Rep on return advised none were mandatory

When I got to the counter there was nobody there so another company tried to call them and nobody answered. I waited 45 mins for a bus to go back to the rental car center. When I got there, there was no car available. They informed me that I could wait there until they got another car, which would probably be hours or they'd try to get me a rental with another company with the same rate. They came back with a rate $300 more than the rate I was quoted. It was an awful experience.

My flight was delayed. Alamo was aware of my flight number because it was notified by reservation and they are at the airport. Alamo closed and I left without transportation at the airport. I will never book again. I had a bad time and I was distressed to stay without transportation in a country that did not know anyone. I had to settle with another company.

I did not rent the car because when we got there and we showed the rate we had the guy keep saying that is impossible you have no insurance he wanted to charge us insurance for 3 days $175.00 and the car rate $43 for the 3 das we thought it was outrages and decided to take a cab to the resort which was only $35.00

My rate for a rental in DR was surprisingly affordable when I booked online. I went ahead and purchased the insurance made available during booking. When I arrived at the rental counter, additional insurance was required with the rental, regardless of the policy I'd purchased (mistakenly believing it was part of Alamo's a la carte options). So I had a useless insurance policy and the required Alamo insurance more than doubled the online quote. Bastards.
