FAQs - booking Cayman Islands flights

  • Do Canadian citizens need a visa to fly to the Cayman Islands?

If you plan to stay in the Cayman Islands for less than 6 months, you will not need a visa to enter the country. You will need your valid Canadian passport, and you will need to provide proof of return or onward travel at customs.

  • What are some common layovers on the flight from Toronto to the Cayman Islands?

There are not many nonstop flights on this route, so you will likely have a layover. United offers a flight from YYZ to GCM with a layover either in Houston (IAH) or Washington, D.C. (IAD). Air Canada also offers a flight to GCM with a stop at IAH. Those flying to CYB will probably have two layovers, with the first one being at a U.S. airport like Miami (MIA), and the second being at GCM.

  • How can I make my flight from Toronto to the Cayman Islands more comfortable?

If you would like to be more comfortable on your long flight, you can consider upgrading to business or first class if you are flying with Air Canada. A ticket upgrade comes with benefits that will elevate your comfort, like extra legroom, lie-flat seats, enhanced meal options, priority boarding, lounge access, and more.

  • How can I make my flight from Toronto to the Cayman Islands more sustainable?

Those concerned about sustainability during travel can opt to book flights with Air Canada, one of the most sustainable airlines flying this route. You can also consider booking an economy ticket and packing as light as possible. Finally, book a flight with the lowest number of layovers possible and consider using public transport to reach and depart from the airports.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Toronto to the Cayman Islands?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Toronto to the Cayman Islands.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Toronto to the Cayman Islands?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to the Cayman Islands from Toronto is likely to change within 7 days, so travelers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Toronto to the Cayman Islands?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly to the Cayman Islands with an airline and back to Toronto with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Toronto to the Cayman Islands?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to the Cayman Islands from Toronto up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

Great flight, comfort, and staff. Prefer tv in back of seat but watching on phone will do

Pros: "Friendly staff and the support they offered to my mother who needed a wheelchair."
Cons: "I would have liked to have had WestJet internet and entertainment access. It was not offered on our flight from Toronto to Fredericton."
Pros: "The fact that military personnel and retired military personnel and their spouse can check in luggage for free. The check in crew was also very courteous."
Pros: "It ran on time. The pilot landed the plane without a big jolt. We could board and deplane using 2 exits."
Cons: "Seat space"
Pros: "Rotten stuff cancels out the good doesn't it. Be great if you could take some courses from Stephen Covey as you are missing some skills sets in hospitality. And stop being so cheap with the 3rd rate old old movies!"
Cons: "I did not appreciate having the second row to the last on my 2nd plane coming back - I only had a turn around time of 20 minutes to catch my third Westjet flight. When we asked if the plane would wait for us - your crew just laughed in our faces."
Pros: "Great, friendly crew in this scenic trip across to Victoria. Nice new aircraft operating this route."
Pros: "Cheerfulness of WestJet employees."
Cons: "Seat comfort; seats hard. Person next to me average size but still spilled into my seat with “man-spreading” and shoulders."
Pros: "Efficient crew and reasonable seating"
Cons: "Need more legroom or a device to fold passenger legs for the flight duration..."
Pros: "Crew was good. Seats need to be updated and are confining. I appreciated being able to disembark through front and rear door."
Cons: "More space between the seats."

It was very, very cold extremely uncomfortable almost unbearable I was sitting at the front of the cabin

Nice smooth flight with pleasant stewards. Slept most of the flight, they could have slowly turned on the lights to make it more pleasant. Otherwise a good trip.

Great! No food was available during the flight due to the catering service strike but snacks were given throughout the flight which was nice.

I wish that seats closer to the front of the plan were available, but when I booked the flight the seats were VERY expensive so I did not book seats at that time. The day before flying only seats at the back of the plane were available. It takes so long to board the plane and empty the plane on arrival due to SO many roller bags.

Crew was rude.didn’t even say hi or welcome to board

Nothing special. Unacceptable wait for baggage on arriving in Calgary

Departure delay on a late night flight. Made us even later. Tired but got home.

Westjet forced me to put my carry-on baggage in check-in probably because I was assigned seat 23A (the last row seat), which had no cabin space, which is unfair. I wanted to carry on my luggage so that I don't have to wait at the airport for my luggage. Also, because there was no cabin space, I was forced to keep my laptop bag under the seat, which I didn't want to as I was carrying 2 laptops and charger. The airline should basically tell people that if you are assigned a last row seat, then you are not allowed a cabin baggage or a personal item.

Easy processing, flight time was quick and staff was professional and kind.

It was delayed by two ours very full no room to move

Marked by flight delays on all segments of the trip. Food in first class cabin was mediocre and overhead cabin storage was not adequate. Overall, the premium charge for first class cabin was poor and over hyped. This will be our last flight with UA.

We enjoyed that we boarded and took off on time. We didn’t like that our connection flight was a twenty minute walk through the airport with only one hour in between flights.

It was good! Appreciated that it was very on schedule so it made the connecting flight less stressful

Two flights, both poor. No entertainment. Cramped and uncomfortable seats, little space, the rest was OK. Staff were acceptable good.

The crew was doing their best on an old plane needing updating. Chairs that creaked and wouldn’t stay in position. My tray table was unusable as was on-board entertainment due the audio needing usb earphones (that were not provided). Prior to boarding in Toronto and despite being scheduled for a wheelchair and assistance, we were dropped off by clubcar without a wheelchair which I found myself by a gate. Due to no boarding gate assigned at that time we waited and when it was, it subsequently was moved from 64 to 95. No help could be found so I pushed my husband’s chair to that furthest gate in the airport at the highest speed possible for a 73 year old. And by that I mean I ran. It was a very stressful experience.

Wifi wasn't working on one of the UA flights after boarding.

Leg room was lacking. Legs crammed into seat in front.

T hey did a great job. Flight was on time .

the plane was old. the wifi didn’t work. the entertainment was boring and dated. the charging ports were impossible to find. i was mostly ignored by flight attendants that had no problem speaking to the man beside me. i got two drinks the entire time i was on the plane.

Crew was not very helpful. They forgot to serve me coffee and had to wait for a long time.It looked as if they were not very happy with what they were doing.

The Carry-on luggage that approved by TSA and all other airlines,- always an issue with Air Canada. This is inappropriate as my carry on suitcase meets the requirements however it always asked to check in on AC flight on the gate. Yes I have it for free, but it takes extra time to pick up on the carousel. Apparently it fit the overhead space, so why AC has this issue all the time?

Too many notifications. Non of which were useful. 4 hours before traveling we discovered that we needed a transit visa. That's useful information. Air Canada should flag and keep flagging that up. Then the useless too much information had us go to Paris not Brussels. Chaos involving the customer. We will try never to use AC again.

The terminal this flight boarded from was so far away, poorly temperature controlled, and generally uncomfortable. The plane was small but the flight was short, so it wasn't so bad.

My flight was canceled and next one was 1 hour later. The gate was changed 3 times.

We did not have seat assigned until almost the very end of boarding and my husband and I did not sit together I don’t know why even though we bought tickets 3 months in advance and checked in very early. We were not standby and we were treated as we had stand by tickets. I will never fly Air Canada again.

Terrible 3-4-3 seat configuration, I thankfully was able to choose a seat at the back where it narrowed to 2-4-2 for some relief though seats were still narrow. Staff did not manage the boarding lines at all either, was total chaos.

Seriously need to improve the time schedule and the plans

Great TV, easy boarding, wonderful ground crew and flight crew.

It was late leaving but made up time in the air.

Rude Customer Service at checkin, 90 minute limit in flight check in is too strict. I was in line for 30 minutes because of slow/insufficient workers. Somewhere I got to the the counter of course the employee warned me about the 90 minutes. People were cutting the lines. No one did anything.

- OK plane. Basic accommodations. OK food. The digital window shade wasn't working.

In economy and food was ok, but with limited leg space (and I was in a 2 seat configuration) it was difficult to eat with a tiny seat tray. I spilt wine on my trousers. First time on British Air (I usually fly Turkish Air) and in a 777. Heathrow was pleasant but changing terminals awkward.

Entertainment catalog certainly needs an upgrade to include better and latest content. Food was not good at all - they need to cook something edible. Five starts to the crew and on tim performance of British airways though!!

It took over an hour to check in my bag a there was just one person at the counter. Security lines for business class also took a while. Although I reported 3 hours before my flight I made it to the gate 20 mins before boarding. To add to that jewelry was removed from my checked in baggage. I am submitting a separate complaint to Mumbai airport for that.

Boarding = No one respected the boarding groups. The ground crew did nothing to enforce the boarding system. What is the point of being a Gold member when there are no benefits to that? Tired old plane

Almost 3 hour delay. First because the crew was late. Then a technical problem with the airplane.

Yogurt only for the last meal was not what I could eat. choice of a croissant or other item would be preferred. It's a busy time, though, so i understand.

No food as per my diet restrictions even after advance request and delayed baggage without any notifications

The flight was fine. Unfortunately, the seat entertainment (movie/TV/game options) was malfunctioning for some reason, so movies weren't an option on that flight. On the flight to my destination, it was working all right, but I never used it because I couldn't figure out how to make it work. It would be helpful to have better instructions for those of us who aren't too skilled at such things. Other than that, no problems. The crew were courteous, the food was decent, and they got us where we were going on time, or even a bit early. I would use them again.

Some of the crew weren't really nice. The seats were uncomfortable. Absolutely no entertainment system at all. The pilot was good though and completed the trip in a shorter time than expected which was great for me.
