FAQs - booking Vietnam flights

  • Can I fly non-stop from Toronto to Hanoi?

It is difficult, if not impossible, to find a direct flight from Toronto to Hanoi. However, Eva Air, Air Canada, Korean Air, Turkish Airlines, and Cathay Pacific are among the airlines that offer cheap tickets from Toronto to Hanoi with just one stop. This stop usually occurs in cities such as Tokyo, Taipei City, Dubai, Istanbul, and Seoul.

  • Do most of the cheap tickets from Toronto to Vietnam require self-transfers?

No. While some cheap tickets from Toronto to Vietnam require passengers to collect their baggage at a stop during the flight and check in again for the next leg of the journey, this is not always the case. Many cheap tickets booked through KAYAK from Toronto to Vietnam do not involve a self-transfer.

  • What documentation do I need in order to fly to Vietnam?

If you are a Canadian citizen entering Vietnam for the purposes of tourism, business, study, or work, a visa is required. You must also have a valid passport. If your passport is a regular Canadian passport, it must be valid for at least a month after your visa’s expiration date.

  • Can I fly directly from Toronto to Ho Chi Minh City?

Cheap airline tickets from Toronto to Ho Chi Minh City are seldom, if ever, direct. Passengers can, however, find affordable flights with one stop. For example, Air Canada has one stop in Tokyo, EVA Air has one stop in Taipei City, and Korean Air has one stop in Seoul. These are just a few of the options available when you fly from Toronto (YYZ) to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN).

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Toronto to Vietnam?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Toronto to Vietnam.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Toronto to Vietnam?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to Vietnam from Toronto is likely to change within 7 days, so travelers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Toronto to Vietnam?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly to Vietnam with an airline and back to Toronto with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Toronto to Vietnam?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to Vietnam from Toronto up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

Top tips for finding cheap flights to Vietnam

  • Morning departure is around 19% cheaper than an evening flight, on average*.
  • Tickets for cheap plane flights from Toronto to Vietnam will usually involve itineraries that depart from the Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). This is the primary airport serving the city of Toronto and it is easily accessible on the western border of the city. YYZ is a hub for many airlines, including Air Canada, Sunwing Airlines, and Air Transat.
  • The Toronto Pearson International Airport provides affordable long-term parking. Both the Value Park Lot and the Value Park Garage are inexpensive options that are not within walking distance to the terminal. However, passengers can catch a speedy train to the terminal that departs about every 4 minutes.
  • Nursing moms who are travelling with a baby can take advantage of the Mamava lactation pods that are installed throughout Toronto Pearson. These freestanding 4x8 fiberglass units offer seating, a shelf area, an electrical socket, and extra room for luggage or small children.
  • When you fly from Toronto to Da Nang, most of the flights will depart from the Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). However, some flights for this route will also depart from the regional Waterloo International Airport (YKF), also referred to as the Kitchener Waterloo Airport. Journeys that depart from YKF tend to combine multiple airlines and have three stops, some of which involve self-transfers.
  • If you would like to stay as close to Toronto Pearson as possible the night before your flight to Vietnam, consider checking into the Sheraton Gateway. This comfortable accommodation is conveniently located right next to Terminal 3 of YYZ and connected by a covered pedestrian tunnel.

The flight crews were extremely professional helpful and courteous. Departure and arrival times were accurate. No delay. Thanks

We were seated at the back and that was very uncomfortable for me with the turbulence we experienced on our way to Chicago.

Everything about Korean air is great, hands down! Will always prefer this airline from other carriers.

On time and flight crew are always so happy to help and always smiling unlike other airlines.

Great crew, decent food Charging plugs were broken on both seats next to me. Only the USB port was available, and that charges, very, very slowly. Seat was also broken, it would not lock into position when reclining.

Korean Air had great service and the Bibimbap dish was the best airplane food I’ve ever had. It was a long flight so in between the two meals they served customers could get Shin ramen. The flight attendants let my children use a pair of nice headphones for the flight and had earbuds and slippers for all the adults. The flight was long but the time passed by relatively quickly because they have many great shows in their entertainment TV. I watched the BTS Love Yourself and Speak Yourself concerts 💜

I like your stewardess, they are nice. However, your food could have been better and wheres your dessert? You do not offer beer or scotch. I do not drink alcohol biut my husband can have one or two, he has to ask if he can have one. during dinner or lunch, it should be offerred. Also, you do not have the most famous drinks ginger ale

Not accommodating ground staff On board slow service Crew members not very friendly

lunch was good; breakfast was kinda meh cabin temprature was way too high new entertainment system but somewhat limited content

You did not put me on a Korean Air flight! so I do not have nothing to say

On time. Great service. Good food. Good movies. All good!

Great food in business class. Great service by staff. They were all so very nice

No ice for the drinks. Only gave a half a cup of your beverage. Not enough water. I got very dehydrated.

Seats could have been more comfortable, but it was a pretty good experience all things considered

Eva air is a good airline. The seats on the way to Taipei could have certainly been more comfortable, but all in all it was a pretty good experience.

Poor services. Not meet 5-star airline standard. Disappointed with the poor food and drink selections. Cabin crew is not attentive at all. They even skipped me during meal service (not sure if it is intentionally).

The flight went well. Everything good. Boarding. Meal service. Snack (crackers) & Drinks. (Could do with more selection like a sandwich). The seats did not have the annoying footrests (that dig into your shins when you stretch out your legs.). Entertainment was good as I watch 4 movies. Screens were bight (adjustable) but could do with privacy filters on them to prevent light from the passenger next to you shining in your face. They need to have milk for hot black tea though as coffee creamer just never makes tea taste nice.

seamless check in/ friendly staff, food is good, always love flying Eva Air

My original flight was rescheduled & EVA did a good job rescheduling my flight & connecting flight.

This was only a short flight, but it had a full hot in-flight meal service. I was very impressed by the skills of the flight attendants in getting the meals out and collecting the trays back without any problems, in double quick time. The meal I had was also very tasty.

The boarding experience was as expected and went well. The plane's economy seating plan is not designed for a positive customer experience but rather for company profit. When the passenger in front of me reclined, the distance from the screen to my face was the span of my hand (thumb tip to pinky fingertip). There is no such thing as personal space in this setting. This results in the domino effect, for when I recline the person in back of me reclines and so it goes. This is not to say that reclining is the answer as the experience is not increased, but simply managed.

While I was in great pain, the seat was sufficiently comfortable to allow me to rest and not be in so much pain.

Not impressed with check in desk staff at Vancouver airport. Not a professional mind service and not cared or tried to help. Don’t think I would fly with them again

Flight crew was especially thoughtful and attentive, made sure our seats were comfortable so we could rest on the long flight

The aircraft was slightly newer but the food was very bad. Bland and uninteresting. Nothing special at all.

The crew were fine. I didn’t enjoy the food at all. I found it unappetising and really had trouble eating it. The comfort level was fine and our return flight is with Cathay Pacific but honestly I probably wouldn’t fly Cathay Pacific again.

Everything went smooth. All flights were on time No changing gates, . No changing flights . It was like a completely different airlines tha n the last time I used Cathay Pacific . The last flight, 2 months ago, I had before this one was from Philippines also . I got changed in Manila and was told it only added 2 hours onto my flight . My 20 hour return trip ended up being 30 hours return with a 10.0 hour layover in New York with no seats anywhere . Everyone was sleeping or sitting on the floor . Unlike the hotel I was given in Manila to wait for this flight home . I never thought I would use Cathay Pacific again . But I did and this time you were great! I should have complained about the flight and layover from Hell a couple months ago. Consider that I am complaining about that august/23 flight now . Thank you got the great flying experience on my way home from philippines .

Flight was delayed. Drink was only offered during meal. Would have been nicer if crew walk around to offer drink after take off or in between meals.

i booked vegetarian hindu meal for my flights from delhi to hong kong, and hong kong to los angeles. on first flight, they said that they do no have my meal information. thank fuilly some veg meals were still left and i could eat. However, on second flight they game me hindu non vegetarian meal, and I ate shrimp without knowing. pathetic.

Cons: "The flight delay could have been announced over the speakers"

It was good no problems made it on time for the next flight overseas!

they give hard time at checking, they not allow computer bag or purse

The staff at the check in lied. I requested aisle seats he said he gave me aisle seats. In actuality he only gave me aisle seat for 2 hour Karachi to Doha flight. From Doha to Dallas flight he gave me middle seat .

The crew was great and the food and liquor offerings were good. Seats were a bit cramped. Flight arrived early at destination. That's a plus.

It was pretty good overall. I just wish the crew didn't have to interrupt you every five seconds to ask you if you wanted anything, I mean that's what the help button is for. When someone is tired and sleepy and still getting their bearings, turning on DND button is maybe not the first thing on their mind.

If you want to make money pls charge it in the ticket, Chennai check in crew simply forcing travelers make payment for unnecessary. Second, Chennai crew not even listening travelers request. Poor service and not sure you will improve with my feedback.

The overall experience for the price we paid was mediocre. Nothing outstanding! Check in process was standard. Flight attendants could have been more well mannered. I found it rude when the attendant nudged me with the snack box to grab my attention when not looking. She could have said ,’excuse me’ instead. My son’s in flight entertainment was not working. The food was not great either. The snack options were not so great with kids in mind. Overall, might not travel qatar again.

professional crew god service good entertainment need choices for diabetic meal

Only negative was dostancevto transfer in Doha with no big golf carts to help us. Walked over 2 miles.

Ordinary Indian food... Not great. Limited movie and TV selection

The 6 hour delay with minimal updates was not handled well. After many complaints from most of the un-boarded passengers, food vouchers were offered. The catering strike meant there was no food or snacks on the plane. Beverage service was heavily impacted, only water or juice was available. The staff at the gate was kind enough to inform that "if you want to eat on the plane, you will need to bring it on when boarding".

It was an excellent experience, traveling from Toronto to Denver with United.

Ontime boarding. Almost 1 hour take off delay. We could have boarded slightly later since the pilots were in traffic

I go am isle seat because it was half empty Food strike no food available

Flight was delayed, jeopardizing the following connections. Food was terrible. Crew was great.

This was the first AC flight in a long time that we experienced no delays or frustrations. The gate attendant was extremely polite and accommodating to my husband who has Parkinson’s disease which made boarding extremely stress free. Flight departed ON TIME and was a smooth ride. If only all my AC experiences could be like this.

Great experience on this Air Canada flight. Everyone was polite and respectful, even the passengers are very polite.

My wife and I especially liked the fact that the Toronto agent went beyond expectation to allow my wife and I to sit together. There was no option for us when we booked our seats. Very thankful!

I didn’t like the fact that all the customs officers went to lunch so I was in line for 90 minutes due to where the staff directed me. We were told three very different reasons for why the plane was delayed. It was a crowded plane with difficult storage situations for the Carry On bags. The Air Canada airline staff were all very good and professional. I was so disappointed in my cheese and fruit box as the cheese had molded and the fruit wasn’t fresh so I couldn’t eat the majority of the food. This was the last meal I could find as the restaurants had closed when I got in to my destination. I think you could work on improving the food quality.

Once again my complaint is how close the seats are together. Also, the bathrooms were not very clean by the second half of the flight.
