There were no cars available when we got there at 8. We were mistakenly sent out to the airport where there were also no cars. It took 3 hours to.get us on our way and I missed half a day with my sister.

The car was from Florida, the tires have +42K miles on them, Kentucky get lots of rain, the low tread depth is not adequate in moderate to heavy rainfall (hydroplaning). Ok for more miles in climate area like Arizona. I have lots of driving experience with various tires in extreme weather conditions these type of tires are not safe for this climate region in the fall.

They would only give an EV. I can’t drive EV. QEEQ did not refund. Should have been clearer when booking that “mystery car” could be EV. No car and no refund. The worst booking ever.

Cons:

The minivan was not as clean as it should have been inside. Obvious surfaces were clean, but the parcel trays and such (it was a minivan) had old chunks of food, crumbs, etc. still there uncleaned. Overall the van was in good condition and comfortable, and was the best value available for what we needed.

The gentlemen at the gate leaving the rental parking lot was friendly and welcoming.

Cons:

There was a long line to pick up outside, we had a reservation for a specific time. Also, when I book there was the option for economy, compact and “staff choice” for the same price, choose staff choice and got the smallest car available (economy), I would have picked compact if I knew. The wait at the airport was the worse for sure, it was windy and cold. We found out later they had a counter indoors but there was no signage guiding us.

Reserve a car 10 min before to pick up we was there they said they have no vehicle for us so we go to enterprise to rent one at the last minute but coast more money we have no choice plus pay another cab to go somewhere else We pay 2 cab and double money for a car am in the home over $500 I will very appreciate if hertz could cover my over expenses I got the invoice of enterprise if you need it Thank you to ask about my experience

There were no cars available when I arrived to hertz even though I had a confirmed reservation. Also, the kayak website led me to believe the car was reserved at the airport when the car was actually reserved at a site off airport that required I get a taxi to get the car. Probably my fault but the kayak website was not clear

I would not rent from hertz in this airport. For the most part ( one young man was helpful ) staff was at best indifferent. The time it took standing in line and paperwork was ridiculous.One poor man at the pickup was trying to deal with a roomful of people who had been given the wrong type of vehicle. It took forever to pick up a car . The car was excellent and drop off was a dream but I will be looking at a different car rental

I went to pick up a car and they didn't have one!! So I didn't even get to rent the car. Worst experience I've ever had with a car rental company. Will never use again.

HUGE FAIL Worst experience ever. The desk agent at BNA did not properly advise me on the time it would take to charge the car, knowing full well I was doing a point to point reservation. Sometime during the first night the car was parked, I lost over 100 miles in range leaving me a sitting duck in a very rural location. Instead of enjoying my time on my vacation, I wasted hours looking for charging stations and wasting energy on stress due to range anxiety. I should have been advised about the length of time it would take to charge the car from near empty to fill enough to complete my journey. The cord going to a 110 outlet would take 59 hours to charge (!). It took 9 hours on the charging station that I finally found. It was in the back of a a very dark parking lot. Not safe. Not fun. This charging need became my #1 priority this trip INSTEAD of spending precious time with my daughter. There was more time spent informing me that should not wash the EV than on providing sound advice on taking care of the car so it was ready for its job. This rental was a disaster and you should not rent EVs to point to point customers. Be like Hertz and sell the fleet. FAIL

The trunk was not clean. Had Christmas tree pine needles in it. We were not given instructions that our hotel room key needed to be programmed to exit the garage gate. We had to get the valet to open the gate. Nobody was there to receive the keys at drop off. We texted the number provided with no response. We did arrive 45 minutes early but waited until after our scheduled drop off time. Texted again letting them know keys were put in the Dropbox. They responded to confirm and said they did not receive the first text earlier. Later, I got a call saying they were returning my call (I had not called them). Better communication and someone onsite when scheduled would be an improvement but the employee who helped when we picked up the car was very nice.

Horrible. Rented a van weeks ago. Verified the day before and response was YES! Arrive and no van available. Zero. Nada. And we had a card load of people to transport. Very disappointed. Avis is on our “avoid” list.

The final invoice was more than 30% higher than the original quote due to all kinds of BS charges. The person at the AVIS desk was excellent and very helpful to all customers. Unfortunately, he was the only one at the desk and it took more than 30 minutes waiting in line. No more Avis for me if I can avoid them.

The avis location closed at noon and our pick up was at noon. We had to pay for an additional lyft to get to the airport. After talking to avis on the phone we had to change the whole reservation. Why would they schedule a pickup at the time they close?

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
