Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great room! The communal area is also an awesome place to enjoy the sounds of the forest at night. The little hotel cat is also a huge plus! It’s small, but I really enjoyed the bag of popcorn they give you!

Cons: Nothing to not like!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: We liked everything in the hotel. It is very high end and you get so much for the price you pay! Very good staff and i highly recommend it.
Cons: We loved everything.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I was really looking forward to the hotel and it definitely exceeded expectations. It’s a hotel with a gallery downstairs and everything was very, very clean. The rooms were very large, loved the pools in the middle of the jungle. The breakfast was great, staff were very helpful. The location was right in between Quepos and Manual Antonio park. Parking was super easy. If we come back to the area we will definitely stay again!
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect!

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Overall great
Good 6.0
Pros: Adequate room with good air conditioning. Beautiful grounds and nice pool.
Cons: Many rooms have no outdoor area to sit and relax.
Good 6.0
Pros: Nice garden, nice setup, very friendly staff
Cons: Next to highway 34 with a lot of heavy truck traffic (noise). Despite mandatory, majority of guests did not use masks when walking around property, entering restaurant, etc.
Excellent 9.6
Excellent 10.0
Pros: it was not overcrowded
Cons: I think the pool close to early and they did not have any kind of supply store on property
Excellent 9.0
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at La Foresta, good starting point for our 3 weeks Costa Rica trip. We would definately come back - thank you. We enjoyed the zip lining, the pool, the garden and all wildlife around.
Cons: There were only 2 minor things - when trying to find the exact location - google sent us into the jungle (has been reported to management and hopefully resolved). Although a wonderful resort - it is really close to a major highway - so there is no way to block out street noise coming from big trucks.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was beyond expectations. Spent 4 hours each day in the pool or next to it. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Really comfortable rooms and friendly staff.
Cons: Price was a little high for what it was.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazingly clean. Staff are exceptional and obviously well trained. The room we were assigned was spacious, the bed was firm and the selection of pillows satisfied our preferences. The property, the gardens and on site trails are marvellous.
Cons: Likely everyone will comment on the road noise. It is evident but is easily overcome when you consider the amenities La Fortuna offers. Frankly I can’t imagine a place CR that will provide a completely soundproof experience.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: They have excellent rooms in the northern wing with terraces and direct access to the pool. We can higly recommend to stay there.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Gorgeous hotel in the heart of Manuel Antonio. The rooms are large and very comfortable, the service is great, and the pool area is beautiful. There's a maze-like garden in the middle of the property.
Cons: The free selection of breakfast items is limited; you have to pay for other menu options. Fruit should really be included...
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Like this hotel. They have parking, but its small, not sure if they can fit everyone when they completely booked. Breakfast was really good. Room is clean.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Staff was wonderful— our favourite part. Kids lived the pool.
Cons: Lots of mosquitos in our room, and our room was a bit dark
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We loved our stay at this cozy, little hotel in the jungle surrounding❤️ It was clean, the staff was very nice and polite, breakfast was great! It had everything you a need for a good vacation!
Cons: Nada:)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Incredibly nice place to stay. The hotel is located literally amid a jungle. Very friendly staff. Great pool. Definately recommend this place.
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Extremely helpful and friendly staff (our special thanks to Wendy who was there for every question/problem we had). A luxury, spacious room with a nice terrace and ocean view. Super clean bathrooms and swimming pool area. The place has a great restaurant with a very good food. Garden and swimming pool area are perfect to chill around. One of the best places we stayed in Costa Rica. The bus which takes to the beach is 2min from this place.
Cons: Maybe breakfast could be better.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff makes this hotel 5 star! Will, Marybelle, and Gabriella are amazing people and are absolutely wonderful! We continue to return to this hotel because of the amazing customer service. Great experience!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Bayron Fallas went above and beyond for us: looking into tours, scheduling a Covid test (which I feel bad I poorly communicated with him about), and making sure we were enjoying our stay as well as fulfilling our room requests. The staff was lovely, the property was stunning, the food was delicious, and the drinks were the cherry on top. We even had a monkey family show in the trees right by the bar pool....this is what really completed the trip for me.
Cons: wifi in the room wasn't very good unless we were on the balcony but everywhere else, it was great. I couldn't complain though, I loved our room too much.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: They have terrible pillows. Other than that it’s an awesome place they should have a pillow selection for my hard to soft
Cons: They have terrible pillows
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything
Good 7.0
Pros: 1. The view from the balcony and the dining area
Cons: 1. Breakfast extremely expensive and unworthy. 2. Dining options limited also by hours; at 21:00 kitchen was already closed
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: Views and staff are great
Cons: Everything is great during the day, great views, all the employees are awesome, but the reason I stay at a hotel is because I need a place to sleep. The walls are really thin and the people next to me were inconsiderate and there was a security guard outside the door talking on the phone or something, the toilet didn't stop running til I fixed it at 4am by taking lid off and tightening the water stopper. Following morning Jairo at reception tried to make it better and put us in a really nice room that was right above live music, which was nice but didn't stop til 12am my time 10pm their time. It was so loud and I was so tired from the night prior that it made for a very hard evening. The music wasn't that bad but the TV didn't work and when I asked about it the guy told me he was going to be honest and said that he's worked here for eight years and the some of the rooms too have never worked. After taxes paying 430$ plus for 2 nights I'm not too pleased and would not stay here again.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The view is spectacular and the sunset is amazing. We originally booked a partial view but changed it for a sea view last minute. I'm so glad we did as the view was the best we've seen in manual Antonio. Price is good. We've stayed in other hotels in the area, and this was great value for money. Pool is also amazing.
Cons: The receptionists werent very welcoming or informative about breakfast times and where the pools were etc.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Pool area was beautiful, staff attentive wonderful views
Cons: Pool towel set-up
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great staff. Good food. Amazing views.
Cons: Everything was great.
Excellent 10.0
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Incredible views of the area especially at sunrise and sunset. Helpful and accommodating staff. Included shuttle is very helpful to get to beach and I especially appreciated how our shuttle driver brought us right to the park entrance (went a bit further on the road from the beach drop off).
Cons: Restaurant was a bit overpriced for dinner for food that was not very flavorful, however the included breakfast was excellent. Had many difficulties booking and paying through website, though was able to resolve by fax reservation.
Good 6.8
Pros: Beautiful hotel. Close to activities & great ocean views
Cons: Beds are horrible. Old & no box springs. Seven nights was almost unbearable. Ant's in the room. Overpriced for the supposed best hotel in town.
Good 6.8
Pros: The view is incredible, the rooms/beds are comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. Falafel Bar across the street had great food too.
Cons: Some of the staff were rude and came off pretentious. This is especially annoying when you're on vacation and just want to let loose. TOO MANY KIDS. They pretty much took up the entire pool, were loud and spent all day there. I didn't have a moment to enjoy it until I went after 10pm. DO NOT GO TO FRED'S next door. We stepped in for a minute to check it out and the guy immediately hollered at us from across the place that we had to spend at least $10 or we had to leave. Um bye. The Wi-Fi also went down for an entire day, for the price you pay to stay here this was unacceptable.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff and Chip (owner) made my family and I feel completely at home. The place was a perfect place away from the hustle and bustle of Manual Antonio but also so close, only like 20 minutes away. The food was perfect and plentiful. Our 2 y/o son had a WONDERFUL time as well, 1000% recommend!
Cons: N/A
Excellent 10.0

Excellent 9.0
Pros: The villa I stayed at was big, clean and very nice ! The staff was very friendly ! Breakfast was a nice size and good !
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Clean, loved the pool and food, stuff was amazing
Cons: It was really hot during daytime, no ceiling insulation
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very nice warm pool, nice and good size apartment with functional kitchen, hammoc and patio. Staff very friendly and helpful. Price is good. Free parking. We should have stayed longer!!
Cons: Nothing to improve for me.
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: We saw a macaw bird in the tree outside.
Cons: The wifi access didnt work in our room, the room is very dated, one portable cooling unit produced only hot air. The double doors to the room did not provide a safe secure environment. Water pressure in the shower was pitiful and the water went to cold before the end of our short showers. Could not have an omellet at breakfast as they said there was no cheese.
Good 6.0
Pros: I liked how friendly the people who worked here were, very helpful. Close to the beach.
Cons: The price was good but there were a few issues like if you flush the toilet, the shower didn't work for about 10 minutes, the toilet wasnt working properly the whole time, we had to hold the flushing part down for at least 10 seconds for it to flush properly. Out of all the electrical outlets maybe 3 plugs worked. There were lots of gaps In the window and door frames for mosquitoes, ants and other flying insects to come in. I was told I would have an oven but didnt. The blender and microwave were clearly supposed to be white but where a yellow color. If your looking for luxury this isn't the place
Excellent 9.1
Pros: We LOVED our stay at Villa Mymosa. Our unit was huge, with a kitchen with all the utensils needed to cook meals & a full-sized fridge/freezer so we could even have ice cream. The pool was the perfect temperature & with only 10 units, it was never crowded. The staff were all friendly & helpful, but our favorite was the owner's dog, Meg. So nice to have a furry head to pet when missing our own! Villa Mymosa is set a little above town, so you feel separated from the hustle of Quepos. And the monkeys! We saw tons of capuchins, partly because the owner directed us to where they would be during breakfast. How can you complain about a place that has a morning monkey travel report? Great stay, highly recommend.
Cons: No complaints!

Mediocre 2.0
Pros: The location is fabulous but you can get comparable quality for much cheaper elsewhere.
Cons: The staff managed to try too hard but also lack professionalism.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Visit to the reserve area supported by a guide. Great knowledge, great afternoon.
Good 6.0
Pros: Great location and views. The breakfast had been really good.
Cons: We were given an upgrade but then the complex decided to update the room next to us so we had builders scrapping walls and noise from early on in the a.m. not exactly relaxing when on holiday. The free tour didn't run on the only full day at the resort so we missed out. The evening meal hadn't been great and definitely not value for money.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff, the location, the customer service, the rooms, the food, everything was amazing.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Exceptional customer service. Beautiful relaxing place to stay.
Cons: NA
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Amazing staff, extremely friendly and helpful - dedicated concierge for your stay. The views and the whole reserve is beautiful and the rooms are large enough, offering a comfortable experience.
Cons: Some of the furniture/bathroom is old/outdated, and same with pool/ restaurant areas.
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: Facilities are well taken care of, staff is super friendly and the overall experience is great. An awesome place to relax, hit the spa and just have some quality time. Perfect for couples! Breakfast was pretty good, nice options, well prepared and presented.
Cons: The bathroom could use some more privacy, looking into the rooms I just realized is because I got DOWNGRADED to a different room. The TV was hard to watch from the bed cause it was like 20 feet away and the screen was rather small. I got DOWNGRADED cause I probably arrived late. I payed for a "Jungle suite" and got a "Studio", a 200 dollars difference for my trip, I even got charged the same price for an extra night.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location and convenience to marina. Excellent accommodation with very nice rooms and pool. Dillan was great .
Mediocre 3.8
Pros: The staff, apparently they volunteer to work there and they clearly put everything to manage a place which should have far more people taking care of it.
Cons: For a 100$ night it was more like a hostel. Not enough staff, room didn't match the diagram provided and there is a VERY STEEP WAY to the room. The whole thing looks oldish and poorly taken care of. It is obvious the little staff they have do all they can to keep the dying place alive. Not up to the standards of price and quality around the area. Looks like management is trying to squeeze a few last dollars before closing the place.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel is located in the jungle. It is so green and full of interesting trees, plants and many wonderful creatures live around. This place has a soul and we absolutely love our stay. Our room was light and cozy. The unique architectural solution provides a fantastic view. The owners are great persons and they are very friendly. They helped us a lot and always gave good advice about trips and places to visit. Every morning we enjoyed delicious breakfasts.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Incredible place. Kind and helpful personel allows you to feel like home. Breakfast are the best we came across in last two weeks - even the rice and beans tastes better. They were so kind to take my daughter allergies under consideration and prepare something especially for her, so she didn't eat jam and toast again for breakfast. You can have tasty pizza, beer & drink by the pool, really nice. The garden is amazing, you get to see monkeys and Aras evwryday just next to you. We came here for one night on the way to Corcovado and we stayed for few. It takes several minutes to go to National Park. And plenty of activities nearby. It was a really pleasant stay.
Cons: -
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent fresh breakfast.
Cons: Climbing stairs
Excellent 10.0
Pros: So much , highlights were monkeys in the trees and their driver Fabio for tours
Cons: Nothing
Good 6.0
Pros: Staff was excellent and very helpful. Went out of their way to help with freezing the fish I caught and making a light breakfast for next day fishing. Bed firm and comfortable.
Cons: Being older the location of hotel was bad for me. On a steep hill and even 5 steps in the room to get to the bathroom. Restaurant doesn't open in time to get breakfast before leaving for 7am fishing trip. I was told this is common there now in Quepos. Plastic tub not seated well. Bubbled and VERY slippery. No soap, coffee maker, iron, or linen service. They were very helpful in getting what you asked for but should have been there for $120 a night. Pillows huge/thick. Drinks were somewhat light. No selection at all for sodas. Diet Coke then ran out of that first day.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I liked everything. The staff are amazing, friendly helpful and gave us many helpful recommendations on what we could do in the area and where to eat. The food here was great including breakfast. The food and drinks were reasonably priced and tasted so fresh. The pool was warm and relaxing and the sound of the little water fall made it even more special. There were always birds flying around and we even watched monkeys jumping through the trees while we floated in the pool. Our room was very comfortable, lots of windows and a very comfy bed. The bathroom was large and very clean.
Cons: I did get bug bites so take insect repellent and you'll be fine. (That is true for this entire area of Costa Rica)

Excellent 9.2
Pros: Hotel Mimos is beautiful. The pools, landscaping, terraces and restaurant were the perfect place to hang out, enjoy the amazing happy hour drinks, and live the Pura Vida. It was so nice to wake up and just step outside to hot coffee and fresh squeezed juice. The breakfasts were delicious, made to order, and huge portions. Appetizers and dinner were amazing - the Mama Mia Pasta was full of fresh seafood with a smooth, buttery sauce. The chef is the nicest, hardest working guy. He invited one of our party (after discussing types of fish) to “help him” cook her fish and make patacones. The location of Hotel Mimos is perfect - on the bus line and easy to get to both Quepos and Manuel Antonio. We saw a pair of red macaws just across the street, a toucan and parrots near the pool, and a couple iguanas. When we checked in, they gave us a room that had beds to sleep all 6 of us (in one large room) with a balcony and a bathroom. We asked if there were large rooms with any other layouts, and they allowed us to switch (with no extra charge) to a multi-room unit with a king bed in one room, a full/twin bunk and a twin in another room, and a twin bed on the porch. There was plenty of storage space (closets with shelves) for our things and the rooms were bright, clean, spacious and comfortable with lots of pillows and air conditioning. We were there for three days and it started to feel like home. It was hard to leave.
Cons: The road noise can get a little loud at times if you have a room on that side or if you sit near that side of the restaurant.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Outside of the room it is beautiful!
Cons: The room lacked a little comfort. No trash can, table or chair in the room. From within the bathroom, you could hear everything from the next door bathroom.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The receptionist staff was extremely helpful and friendly, we ended up staying another night and they honoured our 1st nights price and the housekeeper cleans everyday and gives you fresh towels which was nice. Free breakfast, several pools to swim in and a heated one. Restaurant on site and next to a grocery store. Lots of excursions that they help you with and the bus stop is next door. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Has a water station
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great stay, confortable, clean and well located...
Cons: Decoration of rooms could be less intense, and missing an iron and a small fridge inside the room. Since kitchen closes at 10.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The room was good.
Cons: Breakfast was soso
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Flexibility of staff in terms of using the pool after check out. The pools were very nice and deep.
Cons: Rooms can be prettier.
Okay 4.6
Pros: Location
Cons: Room was inside, no blankets, no closet, dirty sheets
Okay 5.7
Pros: The staff was very friendly The rooms are quite spacious
Cons: An iguana was making a neat on top of my ceiling tiles and kept me up all night. The rooms are dark - they hardly get any natural light and have very few and very dim lights. Breakfast fruit helpings were very small (literally an inch of papaya, two slices of banana, and a triangle of watermelon)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We originally booked a standard room for two nights. When we arrived, we were told that we were upgraded to a deluxe room for the same price. By the end of the second day, we were not yet tired of the beach and found the staff so helpful that we decided to stay an extra night. We even got to stay in the same room for the same price! The place really has it all, except an ocean view; it has nice rooms, a good restaurant, and a pool.
Cons: Like most restaurants in the area, the food costs more than it seems like it should. That being said, it is easy (and cheap) to get on the bus to go to Quepos to frequent a "soda."

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location, excellent customer services, perfect breakfast!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We really liked this place. Good central location right on the waterfront. Friendly and helpful staff. Everything was great.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent last minute rate $$ for 15 minutes before reservation. Great location near everything you need in Quepos. 10 minutes from Manuel Antonio national park and Beaches 🏖️
Cons: Deal included breakfast but we couldn't make it because hours. I wish it be till 10:00 am
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast are great
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8.2
Pros: This hotel gets high marks from out while family. We had three rooms for two days for six adults and two very young children (11months old and 3 years old). The staff is outstanding from the front desk to the cleaning staff everyone made our stay very pleasant. The rooms were modern, clean and very comfortable. The only issues we had were lack of hot water early the first morning and very noisy the first night due to football celebrations everywhere around the hotel (the rooms are not soundproof in any way). They offer secure parking about two blocks away but there is pleanty of on street parking for loading and unloading and parking long term if you want. We really loved the food in the on site Resturant and the ice cream parlor just outside the hotel. It was very close to Manuel Antonio National Park and beach. Which is where we spent a lot of our time. They also help arrange tours if you want them and several in our group went on the mangrove tour. Beautiful location, fantastic sunsets. We really loved our trip.
Good 6.8
Pros: Location down town Friendly staff who are eager to assist
Cons: Internet is very patchy Parking is away from the hotel and very tight, resulting in my car scratched by another.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The room was huge with 2 king beds. There are 3 of us so the size was great. The people were great, as are most Costa Ricans.
Cons: Beds were hard. There is no direct access to the ocean, across the street.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great value, mainly due to the fantastic views.
Cons: No problems.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: What a view from the veranda, with the most amazing sunsets. This place is a short bus ride from Manuel Antonio beach, or a short walk to the nearest supermarket. The beach is the most beautiful beach I have ever come across, monkeys bounding around, even a mother and baby sloth in a nearby palm tree.
Cons: Room was too small for the 4 guests
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The sunset view
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great location. Beautiful views!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Incredible view. Peaceful. Helpful staff. Lovely town.
Good 7.0
Pros: The view was amazing
Cons: I am alergic to cats and there was one cat there but I stayed away from it!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very nice private room with two locking doors. Great view of the ocean and sunsets.
Cons: They don't have AC, which I should have noticed, that's on me.
Good 6.7
Pros: The views were great
Cons: Our dorm was tiny for 4 people and hot even with two fans. There was only one toilet/shower for 10 people.

Pros: Good hotel, I didn’t have problem to find it, if you use waze or google maps, clean and with wonderful view! Special thanks to Gustavo, restaurant manager that he gave me a cake for my birthday in breakfast! All personal in the restaurant were incredibly nice and helpful!
Cons: Everything was super good!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: nice room with a great view, very nice pool.
Cons: Difficult to find. A small sign marks a small gravel road that leads to the motel which we missed seeing several times before we found the hotel.
Excellent 8.8

Good 7.5

Pros: It’s a short walk to bus terminal, supermarkets and eateries.
Cons: None
Excellent 10.0
Pros: love to have always coffee and fruits nice people and pool
Cons: parking should be connected to hotelfrom the inside
Excellent 8.0
Pros: No complaints really nice stay
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8.0
Pros: We loved the location, right in the center of the town and a very close drive to Manuel Antonio National Park. There is a lovely swimming pool available which was really nice with the warm weather. Coffee, water and tea is always available at the bar. Clean and good rooms.
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Nice traditional free breakfast of rice, beans, fried or scrambled eggs, and toast with butter and jam. The pool was the perfect temperature and the property is not crowded. It has a friendly feel and the staff helped us keep our rental vehicle safe in its private and secure parking lot. It is a super value for a downtown location that doesn't seem great, but the property is excellent and the service still better. We loved it and the 24 hour bakery across the street that had great treats and breads. In Costa Rica where so many things seem mismanaged in one way or another, the Hotel Serenity is an oasis.
Cons: It sits downtown in an area of foot traffic which can seem sketchy, but we never felt threatened. It is an older property and not a 5 star property...that being said, you are spending a third or less the money you would in a brand name hotel, and getting people who recognize you and care.

Excellent 9.2
Pros: The place is clean, very quaint and quiet. The pool is relaxing. If you’re looking for a small, homey place that’s close to town and buses and shops, then this is perfect. No big frills, but adequate enough to enjoy yourself and relax! No dinner on the site but a short walk to restaurants.
Cons: Really? I didn’t have a negative thing to say. Hosts are very gracious!
Good 6.7
Pros: Nice pool Good breakfast (buffet of scrumbled eggs, cheese, ham, pancakes, some fruit, marmelades, bread) Location is nice, many trees around the pool Air condition
Cons: Very poor internet connection!! Spider nests in the bathroom, not very clean rooms.
Good 7.0
Pros: The pool area was lovely and the room was a great size!
Good 7.1
Pros: Nice and helpful staff. Air con.
Cons: Don’t buy the milkshake
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: The pool was ok. The morning staff was friendly and beds were ok.
Cons: Pictures of the property are deceiving. Breakfast is not included, just offered like in every other hotel. There was not enough parking and the jacuzzi was not working. The pool was ok but it was not cleaned.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The wi-fi worked and the bed was comfortable and a convenient location.
Cons: No hot water in the shower. There were no towels in the room and we had to ask for them. You have to park outside the property if you want to leave early in the morning or you may be blocked-in.
Good 6.3
Pros: Wi fi issue and Wet room .. but people working made it up and offered breakfast very appreciable thanks
Good 6.3
Pros: Beautiful landscape and nice staff.
Cons: We got the worst double queen room right at the entrance. The walls are so thin we can hear guesses hanging out in the area or simply checkin out. Didn’t have a single good sleep in 3 nights stay. Parking is doable but relatively scarce. Too far of a walk to center. I don’t recommend.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Accomodations were great and service and the food was excellent.....Andre was a total gentleman and a great host
Cons: We loved everything from start to finish
Good 7.0
Pros: Tres Banderas is located conveniently in Manuel Antonio. The property includes a nice swimming pool and a big parking lot. The staff is friendly, and the breakfast was good.
Cons: The rooms and facilities are starting to be in dire need of renovation, especially the doors stood out as being in poor condition. The rooms could be cleaned a bit better.
Poor 1.0
Pros: Unfortunately, some good points we don't want mention here as it cannot match our experience with this hotel.
Cons: This hotel has a severe security issue. There were locals hanging out at the bar until 2am and making a lot of noise and followed by a disgusting public sex-party at the hotel's pool from 3am to 5am in the early morning hours and under the cover of darkness. We could hear every sound and word spoken there. The party people (around 2 women, about 7 men) disappeared at 5am in room 11 followed by the hotel's dog, which means one of the hotel staff was involved. There was no security guard on site who could have stepped in, the owner was not reachable by phone. The local police refused to come to our aid as they said they cannot enter a Private Property to resolve the situation. As side note, we don't understand the police reaction, as this also clearly violates Corona protocols and other bars in other parts of Costa Rica received a fine for less severe things like this. The people were drunk and we feared if we would say something the situation would get out of hand. This hotel offers a severe security risk and cannot be recommended for family, kids in our view. Just imagine if something like this can happen, then also something more serious can happen. We felt left alone and without any protection. In the morning, we reported the issue to the owner, while we received a "Thank you for telling me", we did not receive an apology. We also checked previous feedbacks submitted here and there are mentions of party noise as well. We are deeply troupled and disturbed by this. Never again.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The place is pretty and safe, the staff are very kind. The food is exceptional. It’s very clean. You guys must try the cocktails they make at the bar, they are delicious. The price is really good too.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Hotel Tres Banderas in Manuel Antonio features great accommodations for the price: * we could choose 2 queen beds instead of just one * free parking on site * included delicious hot breakfast with fresh fruit, rice & beans, toast, and items like eggs made to order * balcony with rocking chair & hammock (I loved reading here in the early morning!) * shower & toilet in separate room from sink & vanity so more people can get ready at once plus a wonderful spout in the shower for washing off sandy feet * sparkling clean swimming pool surrounded by lovely architecture and plants * fantastic restaurant—upscale, gourmet entrees for a reasonable price including Polish and Italian dishes * an environment where guests can easily become friends with others around or retire to their rooms for privacy (The owners are wonderful people, and there is much meaning to the 3 flags the hotel name speaks of!) * location only a short drive (about 5 minutes) to Manuel Antonio National Park and even closer to the beach before the park where monkeys will reach down from the trees to eat from your hand! We did not want to leave Hotel Tres Banderas.
Okay 4.2
Cons: The manager and his friends were drunk all the time - no matter if it was late at night, or early in the morning. We could smell the alcohol off their breath a few feet away. He was also very rude, and needs a course in hospitality
