Alamo presented a can do attitude from beginning to end. The car was spectacular and we had a ball driving the cobalt blue Mustang Convertible around Palo Alto, up and down Highway 1, 3 days in Carmel and spin down to Big Sur. I had wanted to rent a convertible for years, and finally did it! Thanks Alamo, check in specialist Jenny, and the whole Alamo team.

I loved the car loved the easy pick up and return of the rental car. The airport made it very self explanatory to get the car back with white letters on the road to direct you back to the rental car return. Made me smile. I had to extend my rental due to not finishing the work I came down for and the company made it very easy to extend.

The staff were extremely helpful. I ended up changing my reservation to an earlier time with no cost, then was unable to make it in that early due to unexpected circumstances. They ended up adjusting it so I could bring it back later on my return date, which they didn’t have to do. Staff is very friendly and laid back. Will definitely come back to this location.

I was not given a damage slip or told to look at the damage ahead of time on my rental car. I was told (through an email) that a scratch was there that had not been there before my rental. I drove the car the entire time with the exception of valets at my hotel and did not cause damage. Because I did not get to inspect it and was not given a form to do so, I do not have evidence that something happened under my watch and just have to take their word. I also would have liked them to tell me when I turned the car in, as I did not have a chance to see what they are saying I did. It all feels pretty unfair. This could have been resolved if they had given me a damage form ahead of time.

It was a fairly seamless process. The representative was very helpful. My only criticism is that I never received either via email or print the contract. This is not the fault of the representative. He attempted to print it and that failed. He also attempted to email it twice and never came through. I think Budget needs to make sure they are investing in their equipment. The printer at the airport was fairly old and outdated. But other than that, great experience!

The company we used was Budget which is an affiliate of Avis. I guess the name Budget is exactly what you get. I ordered a Ford Transit van for a two week road trip. Instead, we got an old 15 passenger bench seat van. In this van we found d beer, wine, antifreeze, kids books, food wrappers and crumbs, and several interior tips and broken pieces. I called to request an exchange for safety and while accommodating I had to take time out of my vacation to drive an hour away to exchange the van because they would not do it at the location one mile from me. So, we exchanged the van only to be put into a van that we actually did request but with a broken windshield with broken glass on the dashboard and a gas leak. I called, AGAIN, and asked for an exchange and demanded they bring me the new van and take the broken one. They initially asked me to drive, the broken van, two hours away in order to return it. That was out of the question. In the end, they brought me the third van which lasted the rest of the trip and was exactly what we needed. It should not have taken me three vans to get it right - countless phone calls and time on hold, not to mention awful and rude customer service to rent a van. I’d also like to me til , the rate that I locked in on my original rental would not longer be offered or accepted because I needed an exchange, TWICE, due to unsafe and dangerous vehicles they initially put me in; with each exchange came additional fees and a high price. I will NEVER use budget, Avis, or any of their affiliates again.

The location was closed when I got there. How was I able to make a reservation at 5pm when the place closes at 5pm? On top of that, I got there at 4:50 p.m and the location was closed. I attempted to go to the airport Avis location and swap my reservation there but the rate was 3x more expensive and the reservation non transferable. Ended up not getting a car and had to cancel all my plans for the weeeknd. On top of all of this, Avis is now charging me a no show fee.

Friendly and polite staff for the car pick-up and drop-off. The experience at the counter could have gone better. There was a mismatch between my priceline voucher (obtained through a kayak search) and what the person at the desk had in the computer. This resulted in several iterations of being proposed higher rental prices and being told I had to pay tax (although the voucher had tax payed on it). No car was available in the category I chose, so I was offered an "upgrade" at an additional cost. This is the first time this happens, as most o the time companies offer it for free, as it's not the client's fault for the company running out of reserved cars in a category. I ended up choosing a lower class car, luckily for free (the only thing that was for free in the negotiations at the cash desk). This is an unacceptable experience at the counter, as clearly something went wrong (or did not work at all) with the data transfer between the online platform and the rental company.

I actually did not rent this car. I canceled the reservation with Hertz a few weeks ago. Kayak was never updated apparently. I actually contacted both kayak and hertz in the cancellation process, because despite canceling weeks in advance, I was charged $50 by hertz for the reservation. Their policy was confusing, and I was surprised and disappointed to be charged. I have no complaints with kayak, but was dissatisfied with this hertz experience.

I had to add liability to the rental since Priceline/kayak didn’t offer it. On balance hertz was fine but kayak didn’t save me a lot. Bait and switch.

Worst experience ive ever had at a car rental company. 1st car they gave me had a suspension problem and I had to bring it back. When I returned it and got another, someone put gum on the seat and I therefore sat in gum for the next 5 hrs of my drive.

Land in SFO at 10PM -- flight was 30 minutes early at 9:30 - go to Thrifty Rental counter. There are 18 people in front of me in line and ONE person working the counter - taking 15 minutes minimum with each person. Everyone in line is worried - seems to "know" the counter closes at 11PM - what will happen then? A second counter person comes out and everyone breathes a little easier, then the first counter person goes away - leave ONE counter person!!!! I waited 45 minutes and now there were 15 people in front of me (I have photos!) I called the number I was given to call for questions and imagine! They closed at 10PM - please call back tomorrow. At a few minutes before 11PM with still 13 or 14 people in line ahead of me - I went to the Alamo counter and rented a car and was driving out of the parking lot at 11:05. Worst experience ever. Never again and I caution everyone trying to get a Thrifty car late at night in SFO...

Waited for 90 minutes to pick up my car due to an outrageously long line at pick up. Way more customers than the staff could handle. If I could have I would have cancelled my booking and gone to one of the basically empty competitors in the rental center. Once I got to the counter the service was fine.

Despite being a Dollar Express member with a long rental history, I had to wait an hour in the "main" line at SFO. When I asked about Dollar Express, they said they do participate in that program but they hid the signs because they didn't like having people go into the short line. Not cool.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.

Was hard to see in the dark garage, but once you got into the sunlight you could see a few dents, and also how dirty the car was. Then, a few miles in the car started saying it was overdue for an oil change, that makes me wonder how well they check these cars over when it's already OVERdue! Not too thrilled about it.

Car seats were really bad value for $13/day per piece (we needed 2). They were the cheapest possible seats, it would have been cheaper to just buy them. There was no good solution for a 42lb kid - too young for a booster seat, too big for the car seat. We had to shoehorn her into the available seat. Pickup of the car was good, but the person in charge of car seats was rude and seemed annoyed by my request to see available seats.

Payless has great customer service for the situation we were out in. The insurance prices are crazy but at the end of the day it wasn’t Payless fault. This is a country requirement that we did understand prior to booking. The pick up was easy and Luis was great!! Drop off was simple as well and super friendly. Car was cleaned when we picked up and that was appreciated.

The check-in process took forever. It was a large line and at the beginning the attendance. Chatting among each other, Delaying the process. Finally, a young man came in. And checked in as many people as the previous to attendance did together. I’ve been to this car rental before, and it brought a memory of the last time we experience the same thing. I prepaid for my car only to get to the counter and wait for just under an hour. Once assigned a car, I again waited because I was then told my car was double booked. I finally got a car, and it was a great car. However, after turning it in on time I was charged for 3 additional days because they had me down as driving a completely different car. Definitely will Pay More next time and rent from someone else.

Getting from baggage claim to Payless terminal had to stand in long lines to get on the bus. The customer service agent was very nice and friendly. We ended up getting an electric car, but never told us about what charging stations we could use being not familiar with that type of electric car and where the charging stations were a big problem wasted a lot of time during our driving experience, trying to find chargers that would work.

Payless always comes through, the pickup and dropoff process is fast and easy never any issue.. The payless cars are very updated and reliable, the price is always affordable and the deposit is always given back as soon as you drop it off, no extra charges or fees.. I highly recommend them, been using them for the past 3 yrs everytime i travel and not 1 issue..

The facility was dingy and the pick up and drop off processes were over complicated and extremely slow. My experience was fine but at least a third of the other customers ahead of me had issues with their reservation. The car itself was fine and the price was good, but I feel like I won a lottery of sorts and I don't think I'll choose them again.

The car was dirty when we picked it up. It only had a single floor mat il and it was in the back. It was missing a hubcap and had body damage to the right rear. The final price was much higher than was quoted. The listing said that the car was "in terminal" but it was not it required a shuttle ride. Overall experience was poor. I would rather have a bus pass than rent from these people again.

I was a little wary about going with a local car rental agency -- I've gotten cars that weren't clean or smelled smoky. Black & White were extremely polite, professional and prompt. I was picked up in an impeccably clean Suburban, and the car I got (Toyota Corolla) was very clean and worked well. As a female, some of these car rental agencies don't feel safe and seem sketchy, but this agency was not one of them. I would 100% recommend them again, and I will definitely see if they have a car for me the next time I need a car from LAX.

They were dreadful. We didn't want a shuttle connection from the airport, but the Kayak info said they were AT Wellington Airport. They were actually in a very small place two and a half kilometres away. They were open only certain hours and when I finally got to speak to a person they denied anyone else had complained and , refused a refund, and blamed the misinformation on the third-party, QEEQ. I would have to approach them for a refund.

I called to find out where the office was and was told it was at the airport terminal. In fact it wasn’t there and we had trouble finding address on the instructions. When we finally got there, there was nothing there – no office, no sign. We kept calling the phone number and it took nearly 2 hours to get our car. The car was filthy. Qverall the whole experience was terrible and I will never use Yesaway again!
