Excellent 9.6
Pros: Pleasant, helpful staff; thoughtful extras like espresso machine and teas.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Reception extremely friendly and helpful. Loved the little touches in the kitchen (i.e. Homemade cake and smoothies and coffee machine and selection of teas). The bathroom, considering it is a shared bathroom, was of the standard of a 4 star hotel - super clean with lovely amenities. The room was modern and spacious and could have comfortably stayed there for a week or so (we only stayed one night in Reykjavik). Location was great not to far from a pizzeria and only 0.5 miles from the city centre where there are lots of bars and restaurants.
Cons: Could of had brighter lighting in the room but to be honest it really wasn't an issue and this is just me being picky because the room was excellent.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room was really beautiful and staff friendly and helpful. Perfect location.
Cons: Everything was just perfect.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Clean, modern, well designed and thoughtful touches
Cons: Bikes were unavailable. Maybe scheduling them for blocks of time would enable more guests to use them
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great, quaint bed and breakfast with extremely helpful and kind owners. We would definitely stay again!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Staff was wonderful and extremely helpful!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Really good location easy to found due to famous rekjavik church near. Cosy and friendly. Kitchen and dinning room appreciated, host really kind and helpful.
Cons: Breakfast provided by external near neighbour did not offer enough choices.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Great location with a perfect view to the church. The staff is super friendly and love to help. Free rental bikes are available. Breakfast at the corner cafe and the daily smoothies are simply fantastic. Free parking spots are easy to find around the house.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: A great comfortable place, with very warm and beautifully designed rooms. Great location, very nice kitchen, and we liked the small details and the extras such as the freshly prepared smoothies, a wide varaity of tea and a nespresso coffee machine etc. We loved staying there and would love to come back!
Cons: A bit expensive, but those are the prices in Iceland...
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Ingo and his parents were amazing hosts, super friendly and helped us research or book various trips. Ingo is a former Cordon Bleu culniary school graduate and makes great healthy smoothies for all guests. We felt like we were staying in our own apartment. The free use of the Specialized bikes were a extra bonus. We put 19 miles on the bikes. We didn't want to leave and had it not been for Hurricane Dorian hitting our home in Florida we would have stayed longer.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Comfortable and clean - easy walk into town. No problem with parking. Owners are delightful and very helpful. Breakfast was very nice next door, plus delicious smoothies at the guesthouse.
Cons: .
Excellent 10.0
Pros: You can't beat the location. Newly renovation building, lots of street parking, shared kitchen and bathroom. Lot's of towels, toiletries very clean and modern. Kitchen is packed with an array of teas and coffees including a healthy smoothie made fresh daily. Great service and they offer a guide with places to go and things to do in the city. Which is short walk from the hotel. Breakfast is complimentary just next door beautiful cafe with seating an wifi you can actually get some work done.
Cons: I didn't like the fact I didn't choose to stay there my entire visit to Iceland, such a great central location.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: It was close to everything, it was cozy, the chickens, our hosts were helpful and very friendly, the artwork was stunning, breakfast was lovely. I would recommend this place 100%.
Cons: No wash cloths for those of us from USA who use them daily. Otherwise, nothing.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Locations was great!
Cons: The person that greeted us upon arrival left a lot to be desired, His attitude greatly diminished our feeling of our stay in Eric the Red Guesthose and Reykjavik. There was a misunderstanding about breakfast being included in the reservation that could easily have been cleared up if this gentlemans attitude would have been better and not made me and my 3 children feel as if we were intruding and were in the way of him trying to clean up at the guesthouse. I had called weeks before our arrival to see if we could keep our bags there in the morning before check in as we had to return our rental car early that day. The gentleman who answered the phone was very welcoming, looked at our reservation and said yes of course and if you come between 8am and 9am you are welcome to have breakfast here on the house. We were so happy because we were arriving in Reykjavik early in the morning after a 6 day comping trip and were quite tired. When we stepped in to the guesthose around 8:30am we were immediately treated in a very unwelcoming way, he seemed annoyed and asked us to wait because the breakfast table was busy, which was fine with us, we waited on the street in our car until close to 9am, when he reluctantly let us sit at the table. He then looked up our reservation and said that we didn't have breakfast included and said we had to leave , come back around 2:30pm. I was under the impression from booking.com and from my phone conversation that we had breakfast included, but these things happen, it just have to be dealt with in a gracious manner. I would have gladly said ok no problem it was a misunderstanding if he had made us feel welcomed at the guesthose and not treated us as if we intruded. A misunderstanding is totally fine, but not in the manner it was handled. First impression is important and can color your whole stay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location. Excellent breakfast. Clean and very quiet structure. The owners are very friendly and always willing to help you. Amazing cat
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Central yet quiet location! We stayed in the separate studio cottage out back and it was an adorable little get away. Our hosts were fantastic; breakfast was superb and when we had to leave early four our flight they packed us up breakfast and left in the fridge the night before; a wonderful touch!
Cons: The bed was slightly worn in the center, causing my husband and I to roll into the middle. The sliding door to the bathroom was damaged making it incredibly difficult to open and close.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: It was very centrally located. Check in and check out was very smooth especially given my flight schedule. Due to a tightly planned trip, I could not make it to breakfast; thus the hosts made me packed breakfast to bring with me. Everything was superb.
Cons: Only (very, very small) point of improvement would be the ventilation in the bathroom. Due to the specific smell of Icelandic hot water, I had quite a hard time airing out the smell. Nonetheless, it did not cause significant trouble, as long as I did everything I needed in the bathroom BEFORE showering.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location and really nice staff. The people there even made me a lunch box to go since my flight was very early in the morning and I'd miss breakfast.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The breakfast spread had a lot of options and interacting with the other guests from a variety of backgrounds was lovely. The room was neat and clean, and the staff/owners were extremely friendly and accommodating.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The location is incredible. Hallgrímskirkja is across the road. There's lots of restaurants, and shops within easy walking distance. Our room was quiet and cosy despite being right by the front door. Edda met us on arrival and made us comfortable straight away, gave us plenty of great information which made for a great introduction to Iceland. Breakfast has something for everyone and there is plenty to go around.
Cons: You may need wait for someone to finish showering to access the loo. A separate toilet would be greatly appreciated. Very mild inconvenience.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Our room was comfortable and the location is great, right by the iconic Hallgrimskirkja church. Easy street parking and the breakfast was wonderful with a variety of choices and fantastic fresh baked bread. Krzysztof was helpful and responsive. When we notified him that there was a problem with how we were charged, he responded within a half hour and took care of it immediately. I highly recommend this charming guesthouse, you will not regret it.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: All guests sit around a large breakfast table, exchanging their adventures in Iceland. There are many books about Iceland on the breakfast table and everywhere else in the house, which is useful for planning the sightseeing tours. The hosts are very nice!
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly. Easy check-in and check-out. Didn't have time to stay for breakfast but they gave us a packed breakfast to take with us the night before.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The owners were lovely, and the artwork around the building was really nice. A nice breakfast was served. The location was near the downtown attractions.
Cons: The bed covers were scratchy and the building is on a busy through-street near the night life on a weekend night. The place is far enough away from the clubs that you didn’t hear any of that. But, cars were passing by with some frequency deep into the night.

Excellent 9.2
Pros: Breakfast was fine, a good selection. Attentive staff, both at breakfast and at Reception. Central location was a bonus with Museums, restaurants and the local shopping centre all nearby.
Cons: It's a modern guesthouse/hotel/hostel arrangement, with shared facilities and rather different to smaller places we stayed at out of Reyjavik. It was fine for what we needed and we'd happily stay there again.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had the small suite with included bathroom. It was in a great location, clean, and comfortable. Very close to the church in the center of Reykjavik and across the street from the sculpture park. The breakfast was great with many choices.
Cons: Parking on the location was adequate since we arrived early, but the small lots was definitely full early in the evening. Parking on the street in this area might be a challenge.
Good 7.9
Pros: OK small hotel, well located. Room was OK as also the breakfast which was basic but OK.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Good staff Comfortable bed Onsite parking
Cons: Breakfast same every day and not much choice
Good 7.9
Pros: Safe, great location, great staff, interesting place with a good vibe and communal feeling, good info on tourist-y stuff at the check-in desk, luggage storage; the room has a small sink.
Cons: Lots of door thresholds which makes moving suitcases difficult. Mattress and pillow were decent but not quite comfortable for a good sleep. Very loud wind noise even with a shut window. No ventilation in the room but opening a window brings too many wind and people noises from the street. I wish they had separate rooms for showers vs toilets.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Perfect location
Cons: Noisy
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Awesome spacious room in quiet part of town with all the amenities.
Cons: There was no soap in the shower!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Fantastic location. Great breakfast. Friendly staff.
Cons: More tourist info.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: I loved the kitchenettes on each portion of the guesthouse. The staff went out of their way to help me when I needed it. I was most appreciative. Their breakfast had a variety and was pretty healthy. I liked it was served until 9:30. Not many travelers are early risers.
Cons: I always crave a croissant for breakfast when I travel but their breakfast was pretty healthy. It was good, but sometimes I appreciate spoiling myself a bit.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location. Good breakfast

Excellent 9.2
Pros: Walking distance from center.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful guesthouse right near the centre of Reykjavik!! You really feel like you're staying in a gorgeous manor house, we had the room with the bookcases, loved it!! Super friendly host, and super cuddly dog and cat :-)
Good 6.7
Pros: not applicable
Cons: The kitchen should have at least an electric stove. And bed linen also for the sofa.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Clean , walking distance to best parts of Reykjavík . We stayed here on our arrival and departure .
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Nice, quiet residential street. Short walk to shopping area & tourist sights. Having a kitchen (with coffee pot, kettle, dishes, utensils, cooking pots, etc.) in our room was great, since eating out was so expensive. There were 9 of us in three apartments. All of our rooms had different lay-outs, and one of them had a large living room where we could all gather comfortably (Apt. 2) Very friendly, helpful innkeepers, also!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location. Extremely hospitable and gracious hosts. Our room had 2 en-suite bathrooms that was unexpected. Private, quiet flat in the garden level. Could not have had a better time there.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location. A very short walk to downtown Reykjavík. Very easy check-in. Friendly staff.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Thanks to the owner for updating us for free to an apartment! Comfortable, clean, beautiful house with a super friendly cat.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The space, the couch, the bathroom and more!
Cons: We couldnt find a WiFi password, and got no response after our email.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Awesome breakfast hostess, helpful, friendly, funny. Immaculately clean. Nice breakfast.
Cons: Wall hooks would have been helpful.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: No fuss, just go and enjoy. Loved being able to cook a bit since eating out is crazy expensive.
Cons: Parking spots are difficult sometimes. The water smelled of sulfur.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The location of the hotel is really excellent -- it's within walking distance to the domestic airport, main bus station, and the downtown. The beds were very comfortable. Iceland is very expensive in general, and therefore I think the hotel is a good value. We didn't have the breakfast at the hotel because we had to leave early.
Cons: It's difficult for me to adjust the water temperature in the shower, but it is probably my own problem. Everything is great otherwise.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: We arrived late. Great hospitality! Karlotta has made arrangements so that we were looked after. It's a lovely room in their lovely home. Comfortable bed, love the 2 single blankets. She has thoughtfully put a microwave and kettle in the dining area so we could help ourselves to tea.
Cons: Location is in the suburbs. Reykjavik in general is expensive... Be prepared to pay for expensive taxi. We made a mistake by thinking we could easily walk to Go Camper to pick up car, but that was an approx 20 mins taxi away. If you already have rented a car from airport, this isn't an issue.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The home was comfortable and the owners very friendly and helpful.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location, well maintained home, extremely friendly and accommodating host. Would 100% stay here again!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Karlotta and Hugo were excellent hosts and both made us feel extremely welcome. They gave great recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was also a highlight and helped us keep to our more strict budget. The place itself was very homely and having books in every room was lovely. Karlotta also kindly offered to change our bedding and towels – much appreciated after an evening at the Blue Lagoon!
Cons: The only thing I would say is that the property was quite expensive for the location. It was advertised as being in the city centre of Reykjavik, but it was a 25-minute walk. We didn't mind walking (and we did hire a car for two of the days) but would have been nice to be a little bit closer. Other than that, our stay was fantastic.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hosts were very nice and made us feel very comfortable.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very quiet very friendly. Needed to leave very early - was left breakfast self serve, made sandwiches which I ate later
Cons: Long walk into town
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Karlotta (the host) is so sweet and welcoming person! She is always ready to help. The breakfast is also a nice option! The house itself and the room are stylish, modern but with it's own history and unique things so you can feel yourself almost at home! Definetely wish to stay longer.
Cons: Not so close to city center, Laugavegur street - 20-25 minute walk. But that's all that may not be suittable for some people. For us it was okay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Fantastically lovely hosts, cosy room, super breakfast

Pros: The staff was friendly and very helpful by giving us a room on arrival early in the morning and then moving us to a suite
Cons: The location could be better
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location, the service at the reception, the restaurant.
Cons: The elevators can be upgraded
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Good location. Clean and comfortable rooms.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Nice to have a convenient hotel with free parking. Removes the hassle of getting in and around town.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Quiet, good location, availability of parking, breakfast buffet included in stay, very pleasant staff, interesting art work, comfortable beds, great lobby.
Cons: Tiny bathroom, carpeting and some furniture are worn.
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Location was easy walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: They say that they provide a hot breakfast, but I found that this really meant just buffet style eggs and bacon. Everything else was more of a continental breakfast style.
Good 7.9
Pros: Good location, bathrobes in room like excellent hotels; free parking Good breakfast buffet
Cons: In summer, no ventilation, no fans, no cross breeze, was very stuffy Way over priced for what it is,would probably stay at Hilton next time- had friends there who had nice cool rooms, but parking is extra...
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Quiet location, but 10 min walk to everything. Breakfast buffet (hot) included. Absolutely best staff attentive, accommodating, engaging. Houses one of the finer restaurants in the city plus a nice bar downstairs. Tea and coffee and mini bar in the room. Would absolutely stay again.
Cons: Single rooms on the top floor are drafty because of the balcony doors.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Location great and just a short walk to the main streets with shops and restaurants. Also easy location to drive in and out of the city for day-trips. The carpark was a large bonus and made life with a rental car very easy. The service and friendliness of the staff was very good and helpful.
Cons: Bathrooms were a little small.
Good 7.5
Pros: Location
Cons: Very outdated with musty smell.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The European feel.

Pros: Location is perfect and the rooms are super clean and cozy. Shared bathroom is totally fine. Loved it!
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Easygoing, has all that you need. Kitchen, laundry and even a sauna. Wonderful location near church and bustling streets of old city. Don’t expect contact with the owner. It is a self serve guesthouse.
Cons: Very low ceiling in our room was difficult for my tall husband. Slippery stairs easy to fall if my very careful. Two people slipped while we were staying. Luckily not hurt badly.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The manager and His staff were exceptional, friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean the room was comfy.
Cons: All was great
Okay 5.8
Cons: Cold shower.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This is a charming and comfortable guesthouse.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: A home away from home. It has everything you need, and is close to a lot of attractions, a 24/7 shop with food, restaurants, busstop nr 8 where you join tours, etc. It's a nice place to meet other travellers too. Loves it! Coffeemachine - fresh made coffee whenever you want it!
Cons: I enjoyed everything! Especially when I needed the room for one more night before I should arrive, and Johannes made that possible at once.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Fantastic place to stay, close to everything in Reykjavik
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Nice house, well equipped, central. Rooms for 4 are small.
Good 7.5
Pros: The location. It was a house with a glass roof, stairs and a kitchen.
Cons: I heard neighbor's conversations through my walls. One bathroom smelled like mold and I never figured out how to control the water temperature. Property owners are not to be seen in Icelandic guesthouses.

Pros: Comfortable, convenient, value for money. Being able to cook made it more affordable.
Cons: A client talking on the phone in the bathroom at 6 in the morning.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great espresso, clean, quiet, safe, good location for tourists as 15 minute walk to tourist district but in a neighborhood.
Okay 5.8
Pros: Nice location. If you like desolation.
Cons: The price was ridiculous. The toilet didn’t work.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Super helpful owner - so friendly and welcoming. Complete kitchen facilities. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Convenient location. Great value!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was super clean and very comfortable
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Best price/value ratio on Iceland. Free coffee and tea on site. Great kitchen. Not too crowded. Cute staff
Mediocre 2.9
Cons: The bulding and the rooms are old and there's no care in making the place likeable. On the street in a not so nice block.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Well equipped kitchen, bathroom on every floor. Very friendly staff.
Okay 4.2
Pros: + Location a bit outside of the city is quite helpful, if you are travelling from BSI bus station + the price is actually cheap considering the price niveau in Iceland, but for only a few bucks more you get a much better quality
Cons: My girlfriend and me had booked the guesthouse twice this month, in each case for a one-night-transfer in Reykjavik before heading to other destinations in Iceland. Unfortunately, we were not able to stay there for the first night, after I had a bad accident with a broken bone and had to cancel about two weeks of our four-week-trip in Iceland, staying that time in hospital. The Igdlo guesthouse was the only one of around ten accomodations in this period, that showed absolutely no concession or kindness - they had the money and didn't care about anything else. On the second date, I was at least able to continue the trip on crutches, so the following remarks are based on that stay: - impersonal welcome and correspondence (that confirmed my impression above) - rooms were noisy, spartanic and without any charme - that might be okay for a cheap hostel, but in particular the beds are too small for two persons; the sink in the room spread an unpleasant smell; bedsheets had stains
Excellent 9.3
Pros: Well-run Very good staff clean and good value and location for a stay in a very nice but expensive city
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This guesthouse became our home away from home. The owner is so sweet and helpful, going out of his way to help make our stay successful. He stored our extra luggage while we were traveling, two times, and for a FREE. The kitchen is well equipped and clean, with plenty of fridge storage. Shared bathrooms were clean, rooms were clean, comfy beds, and so quiet. Location was perfect ~ within walking distance of restaurants, bus station, grocery store, and other attractions. The prices for these rooms were very reasonable - some of the lowest we paid for lodging in Iceland. The staff made us feel welcome, and made our stay so easy, comfortable, and worry free. The flower garden around the entrance, with picnic tables and a sweet kitty made staying here even more enjoyable. You'll love staying here!

Pros: Clean and spacious
Cons: Faraway from city center
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Free parking, facilities and the customer service.
Cons: The hotel is situated just a twenty minute walk from the city centre. The hotel also offers free parking, we foumd this very useful as we rented a car. The hotel itself was very clean and modern. We did not use the spa facilities but they are availble for a resonable price. If you are looking for a nice relaxing stay i would definitely recommend this hotel.

Pros: We had high expectations after our stay at the kalta keahotel but however breakfast was fine it couldn't live up to the breakfast quality of the katla Keahotel. nice helpfull staff. Delicious lunch but overpriced and poor options to feed a baby / child (1 year). room was nice and clean
Cons: We had high expectations after our stay at the kalta keahotel but however breakfast was fine it couldn't live up to the breakfast quality of the katla Keahotel. nice helpfull staff. Delicious lunch but overpriced and poor options to feed a baby / child (1 year). room was nice and clean
Good 7.5
Pros: Nice room good meals. Very helpful staff.
Cons: Difficulty parking as they had a conference
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location was very good, the property was great and the staff were very humble and supportive. The rooms were clean and well furnished. The reception was plush and the garden was great. The best part was the small Jungle nearby which was too good for a Walk.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Large comfortable room
Cons: Poor lighting
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Good 6.7
Pros: Helpful staff, lovely spa, nicely appointed room and nice bar. Social hours were good
Cons: Overlooking airfield so very noisy early in morning and late into the evening
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Clean and well maintained rooms and bathrooms.
Okay 4.0
Cons: It was discribed as having a pool which was not accurate because you had to pay extra for that tried to stay one night and cancel the other nights were told couldn't do it with out paying full price, won't book through kayak again
Good 6.3
Pros: The free tea and coffee, the bed was comfy and close to the city centre.
Cons: Could hear every plane take off..if you are near an airport it should be soundproof. Facilities like pool cost a lot, not happy. Quite basic package
Good 7.7
Pros: Spa was fantastic, breakfast was great but this was expected due to the price you pay.
Cons: Having a double bed which have two beds pushed together was uncomfortable and as a couple we like to be close when we sleep. On this occasion having two single duvets just made this uncomfortable. On check in they told us they were overbooked and that we should chose another of their hotels. The member of staff was rude and talking in Icelandic to other members of staff which made us uncomfortable. We ended up with a room upgrade because of the situation however this is not what we needed after a long day travelling.

Excellent 8.3
Pros: Friendliness of the staff. Always ready to assist & help.
Cons: Quite a walk to the old town or centre. But walkable.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I love their pillows. If i could i would steal it and take it with me home! Its so comfortable.
Good 7.9
Pros: Good price, good location for the airport transfer, lot of travelers and open minded people..
Cons: Kitchen was missing some things (waterheater, coffemachine...) and was very small for so many people. Loud vent noise just above my bed. Very limited space. Do not drink coffee from the machine downstairs! XD
Excellent 8.8
Pros: People real good
Excellent 9.2
Pros: comfy bed. decent number of shared bathrooms. friendly hostel guests. no-shoes-upstairs policy meant floors were kept clean. Overall good value for money. Good location compromise if you want to be a bit out of downtown and still be close to groceries, restaurants, bank machine, SIM card vendors. Good hiking options nearby too - easy access to Perlan and the old WW2 bunker relics up in the woods. (20-30 min walk to nearby mall, compared to 5-10 min walk downtown to convenience stores/grocery)
Cons: Kitchen was a bit understocked (only one tablespoon?? no teaspoons??) but also overstocked in other ways (many wooden spoons, lots of free food left from other guests). Just a small nitpick - but it makes me think I should be travelling with my own cutlery, just in case!
Good 7.9
Pros: The hostel is clean and staff very convinient. Easy shuttles to/from airport.
Cons: I dont know if the description of the location is wrong or not but I understood that the hostel was close of the bus terminal... actually it is for the airport shuttle but the other terminal was 15-20 min walk away and it is only for one compagny: Reykjavik Excursion. If you book your excursion with another compagny, make sure you ask for a pick up! Also there is nothing around, no supermarket, grocery or restaurant. City center is not so far away if you like walking. However, if you dont want to walk, or if do not have a car, it is not a easy location.
Good 6.0
Pros: Cafe area, easy access to Sadcars
Cons: No top sheet, blanket charged extra, rooms colder than hall even with 10 people, no laundry
Good 7.1
Pros: Friendly staff. Pretty good location - 15-20 minute walk into town. There was a bar at the hostel with cheaper drinks during happy hour. We were a group of 3 in a 4 bed hostel but luckily didn’t have a 4th person for the whole stay. Usually didn’t have too much trouble getting into one of the four bathrooms on the floor.
Cons: The kitchen was way too small for the number of people staying there. Not well stocked with basics and extremely busy at all times. We had some of our food stolen from the fridge even though it was labeled. Same thing happened to our friends. Staff didn’t know anything about the public bus system and couldn’t help us.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Nice kitchen. Good stuff and has happy hour. Straight bus from the airport.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Great people around!!!
Okay 5.8
Pros: -Easy to book all the tours at one place, the busses hold right outside -Helpful staff -Good price, much cheaper than most of Reykjavik -Clean bathrooms -Comfortable beds -Good common space downstairs, but you cannot sit there long because the windows are open and it can get cold
Cons: -Very far from downtown, 20 min walk, having to cross a highway; -Far from supermarkets; -Cold rooms. The ventilation was always on, I had to sleep with sweater and socks on. I got sick, mostly because of the weather, but I couldn’t get warm during sleep so I could feel better -Very small space in the kitchen. Only 1 kitchen for 2 floors. Because there are so many people in a small space there’s always dirty dishes and lack of forks
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Friendly and helpful very nice could not have found a better spot!
Cons: It did rain a day or two but no trouble otherwise

Good 7.5
Cons: It is located right next to Hallgrímskirkja church, and the bell tower rings every hour. Bring ear plugs
Excellent 8.8
Pros: great location comfortable rooms easy check in and check out
Cons: did not meet the owners at all
Excellent 10.0
Pros: it is easy to find. look for the big spire and your there.no hassles in getting keys and paying was easily done over the phone. all the facility's were there to cook and the rooms comfortably warm with HOT showers to thaw us out. Loki guest house is only 5-10 minute walk to downtown. All linen is provided. and the Wi-Fi was very good and included.
Cons: nothing
Okay 5.0
Cons: Sorry it was a Bit Dirty
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Great location. Close to the center. Quiet location. Nice kitchen, sitting area. Clean bathrooms
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The location, and appearance of the place was what drew me to it. Extremely convenient to the area of central Reykjavík, as well as a good spot to catch tour buses at nearby Hallgrimskirkja. Sometimes it is wise shower the night beforehand, rather than in the morning, but overall it was an enjoyable stay. It had just the right mixture of privacy and communal space, and is just down the road from a lovely café (Loki), with a convenience store nearby as well.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Clean, comfortable room. Fantastic location. Very helpful staff. The key was not in the locked box when we arrived and took a while to actually gain access. When we did we discovered that someone else had taken our room (and the key that should have been left in the box) and only a single was available. Once I managed to get in touch with the owner everything was sorted out really quickly. Good sized, well equipped kitchen.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8.2
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, very basic but cheerful rooms, perfect for budget traveller
Cons: Not soundproof
Good 7.9
Pros: Location and the well equipped kitchen.
Cons: More storage in the room would have improved it.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: This was basic accomodation with delightful individual touches such as the wonderfully comfortable chair in our room, hand painted pictures around the place, clever painting colours.
Cons: The stairs
Good 7.9
Pros: Location.
Cons: Only paid street parking.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location Good breakfast
Cons: room a little small
Good 7.5
Pros: Next door to great Pizzeria. Helpful staff
Cons: Nothing really
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Staff were friendly, breakfast was well stocked with good choice and room was very clean. Guesthouse is in an excellent location for main sights of Reykjavík
Cons: Pillows were not comfy at all and the room could have had blackout blinds/been darker, particularly as room faced on to the main road. Also would be better if towels were available in room
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Every thing was really clean and tidy. I like the privacy in the building 47. Only 2 rooms to one shower. A little kitchen area. Spacious bathroom. Very good.
Cons: Nothing.
Good 7.1
Pros: Location.
Cons: Ensuite was cramped.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was great
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This was clean comfortable small room in downtown Reykjavik. They have a very efficient check in process. The breaksfast was great. It is a very convenient location close to all of the main pedestrian areas.
Cons: The breakfast room was crowded, but everyone was able to get food and eat. An extra towel / bathmat for the shower could have been nice. I used my towel to dry the floor since I was just staying one night.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: location was wonderful, and easy to explane when you are lost because there was a pizza restaurant near by. Also, it was one block away from the famous church. Breakfast was wonderful. couldn't stop eating the bread they provided.
Cons: it maybe difficult to use the restroom, since the building i stayed was a modified house, which had only one bathroom( just one) on the floor with three bed room.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: - Good doors, quiet room - We had a shared bathroom but there was also small sink in the room - Priceworthy
Cons: - Had some bad luck with a false fire alarm that went off a couple of times late in the evening - Vegetables had run out for the morning breakfast
Good 7.9
Pros: Hosts were flexible enough to allow us giving us breakfast before 6am as we needed to be very early at the airport.
Cons: Bath/shower on the first floor felt a bit humid, needed more ventilation perhaps.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Great location, plentiful breakfast. Comfortable room.
Cons: Shared bathroom, but I was aware when I booked Guesthouse.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Great location, comfortable bed and nice breakfast.
Cons: Nobody tells you how many bathrooms are in the houses. We were sharing a bathroom with three other rooms, only to find out in the last day that behind an unmarked door there was another bathroom and a room.

Excellent 9.6
Pros: This was a great place to stay! It was very comfortable and clean! Although it's a shared bathroom, there is a sink in the room so you can wash your face or brush your teeth there. The breakfast was delicious! A big variety to choose from! The croissants were especially tasty! I also got a french press pot of coffee, the best coffee I had during my trip! The staff was warm, welcoming, and helpful! Highly recommended!
Cons: Something to consider is that it is located on a residential street, so you would have to walk a bit to the downtown area. We had a car, so it worked for us, but just a heads up. Also, there is a microwave and an eating area, but no shared kitchen. It was our last night, so we just went out to eat. The included breakfast is a good compromise!
Excellent 8.3
Pros: I like the way they offer breakfast and take good care of your stay ,looks like the owner never sleep and make you feel safer.
Cons: That they did not change my beding in the entire week of my stayed.and I had to ask for clean towels when I need them because they did not took the dirty ones on any day of my stay
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The guesthouse is easy to find and very clean and comfortable. We have particulary appreciated the wide breakfast spread: very good, and professionally managed!! Thank you.
Cons: All was good but if guests could use some more kitchen tools (cooker etc.) that would be even better.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Two words: homemade bread. Seriously, the fresh bread at breakfast alone made this worth the stay. But it was also very comfortable and clean, and though they had a full house, the shared bathrooms were never a problem.
Cons: Neither of these things is the fault of the owners, but... 1) There was a LOT of construction on the National Hospital, making the walk into town less ideal than it might be otherwise. 2) I'd recommend it primarily for couples looking for a quiet spot, not necessarily for kids. Even though the owners were very nice to our daughter, I felt like she was kind of an annoyance even when she was being relatively well-behaved.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Small, but nice and cozy room, tasty breakfast, good location.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Spacious rooms, comfortable bed. Two showers for only a couple rooms so that was nice
Cons: Still quite a walk from the center of Reykjavik, but we knew this beforehand
Good 7.7
Pros: Basic accommodations, but the room was comfortable, quiet, and dark at night. The breakfast was excellent.
Good 7.9
Pros: Beds were very comfortable
Cons: Was a 15 minute walk to the city centre
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The location is good enough for me to walk to the Cathedral and the other main sights. The host and his family are friendly and helpful. I recommend it.
Cons: No.
Okay 5.0
Pros: hard to find something, perhaps a location?
Cons: All the rest, horrible overpriced guesthouse, everything looked filthy. Room small. Poor breakfast.

Excellent 9.6
Pros: We were given a studio and it was nice.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The staff was very helpfull. You have to pick up the keys in a seperate house nearby, but it was no problem at all. The room and the shared bathroom were very tidy. Despite the some other reviews we had no problem with the breakfast, there was room for all. Sights are on a walking distance.
Cons: Just minor problems to write something, but the entrance is real narrow with big steps behind it, a big heavy door, thus it's a bit circumstantial to get in. Parking is for free, but you will have to often
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location within walking distance to everything. Good selection for breakfast.
Good 7.5
Pros: Okay, quite and calm, budget place.
Cons: The check-in was very confusing, I knew where to pick up the keys but not when the reception is open, and the sings led downstairs but the code was upstairs. The breakfast was in another building. There is only one bathroom per 4 rooms so there is a line in the morning.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: We had a private studio which was great for us. Clean, warm and breakfast was simple but sufficient. Location was handy if you dont mind a bit of walking 10/15mins to everything bus stop was close. Staff were helpful.
Cons: Wasnt an everyday cleaning service as we were there only 3days wasnt too bad not sure when they would call ?
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Super nice people on the reception. Good breakfast, nice rooms and in front of the church... What else you can ask for?
Cons: Nothing bad, everything nice!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: As above
Cons: Only that it is in a very expensive city.
Good 7.9
Pros: Location.
Cons: Bathroom
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We were in a building near Guesthouse Aurora. Room for our family was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Same for our beds. Well stocked breakfast included in the room price. Excellent location, 2 mins from the Hallgrimskirkja and few minutes from downtown. Towels available when checking-in - to who is complaining they didn't find any towel in the rooms: "You just have to ask for and you will get them!!" Because of our flight, we had to leave at 5 AM, so I asked whether I could have an "early" cup of coffee. The staff told us we could prepare something for breakfast the night before and bring with us when leaving the room. Thank you!!
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Loved the location and the room.
Cons: Room was a bit hot.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Clean rooms. Shared kitchen. Shared bathrooms weren't a problem since there were only a few rooms per floor. Breakfast is free and complimentary. We arrived early in the morning before check in and the let us store our bags in the back room. Easy walk to downtown.
Cons: French tourists took my kid's milk box from the shared fridge but that's not the hotel's fault.
