100% bait and switch. Lower rate but mandatory payment and usage of their insurance regardless of included instrance on my American Express. Basically doubled the rental rate so zero savings.

The car’s sensors were damaged because the car had an accident before we received it, so throughout all the trip it would keep on beeping as is there was some physical object too close to us.. we would be on long drives so that got very annoying. I don’t feel like we got a good value knowing that it was practically impossible to play music at times and everyone was annoyed at that flawed car.

Rented a car and when we arrived the office was closed at the time it should have been opened. They have good prices but you can see the things they overlook. This is the same company that charged us 150 euros because the car was returned "too dirty" (it was not). Last time I try to use them. Avoid this company. At Barcelona airport, just go for the companies that open until late: Sixt and Europcar.

The rental price is extremely affordable until you go to pickup the car, that’s when the hidden fees pop up. I originally paid $16 USD for two days and then when I got to the counter there was a hold charge of $77 USD for fuel (returned at time of car return if returned full) and I had the option to either have a €900 deposit hold put on or buy the €70 insurance. The €900 often takes “one month to return back to your card” This seems like quite the scam in order to get people to buy the insurance (even though my personal car insurance covers rentals and so does my Visa card) Unethical business practices like this are what puts businesses out of business.

Record go is an embarrassment. We were unable to pick up the car because there was a 3 hour delay and we missed the whole trip. I ended up wasting a day of my trip and could mot get to the destination I wanted to go.

Le temps d’attente au moment du check in était un peu long mais la voiture était prête et propre. La voiture était neuve et confortable. A l’inverse, le check out était rapide.

Extremely disappointed with the service. The car I got was WAY SMALLER than what me and my family needed, which almost forced us to completely change our plans as our luggage didn't fit in it. We had to figure things out on the go. The company didn't move a finger to help us finding another car, not even paying the difference. I likely won't use the service again.

Its the 2nd time that I rent a car online, and the insurance they offer on their page, its not acceptable on the day of pick up!

Pros:

Yes, but the process is unnecessarily deceptive. The pricing seems favorable but than they hit you with exhorbidant insurance costs that exceed the actual rental cost. These costs are hidden until your at the counter. Lots of other add-on costs. VERY unpleasant process. I expected more from HERTZ.
