The location and the staff.
The breakfast was overpriced.
Elevator out of service Wifi did not work in the room
We stayed in Room #14...a large suite...very comfortable...excellent A/C (it was hot in Agui Morte!)...the extra $$ you pay for downstairs parking was definitely worth it as parking is very difficult in the town
Quite expensive for a 4 star hotel especially when breakfast was not included
It was very good. The receptionists were fantastic !! :)
My wife and I booked a night at La Villa Marzin as a 24 hour grown-up getaway, leaving the kids with their grandparents as we looked forward to some peace and quiet, interspersed with some nice meals and a bit of local history. From the website, it looked as if the hotel offered beautiful, spacious bedrooms and public rooms, with a lovely grassed courtyard and terrace outside, as well as a pool, gym, and spa. A nice oasis inside the walled town of Aigues Mortes. The staff were attentive and helpful as soon as we had booked, sending an immediate email to apologise for the hotel restaurant being closed due to the chef being on holiday, but recommending some other local options and offering to book a table for us. There was a hand-written welcome note and local gift in our room on arrival and, despite the heat of August, our Prestige room was quiet, cool and comfortable with bathrobes and slippers, ample white fluffy towels and Clarins toiletries all combining to provide a genuine sense of luxury. The walled town itself is small but had plenty to keep us entertained for our short visit, with a bustling town square with restaurants, ice cream parlours and coffee shops - a great location for a very pleasant late lunch, before wandering around the narrow streets of local shops and boutiques. The restaurant that the hotel recommended and booked for us, Le Patio Ne, was excellent and fairly inexpensive (€41 for three delicious courses). Equally importantly after the meal and a few drinks, it was only a 5 minute stroll back to the hotel where we had a quiet nightcap before turning in. Despite our best intentions to get up and walk the Ramparts early the following morning, we slept late so headed straight down to breakfast in the courtyard. This was simple but delicious, with fresh pastries, breads, meats and cheeses, alongside some cooked options, all accompanied by great coffee and a selection of freshly squeezed fruit juices.
Nothing - loved it all.
