Hotel Arkaden

Booking was as planned - a room with bath and kitchen nearby. Central location was convenient. Free on-site parking. Proprietor was helpful.

Kitchen was not well-stocked (hardly anything to cook with and no staple food items). Noise during the night was intolerable: cars full of young men roaring by and blasting music -- and not stopped by police. Impossible to sleep; it felt like they were right in the bedroom, even with earplugs. A place only for very sound sleepers and not a once-in-a-while experience, as it's apparently part of the culture of the town. Smell of cleaning materials throughout: disinfectant and perfumed detergent used on sheets and towels -- so those with environmental sensitivities will not like it.
