Great breakfast and really nice host! Stunning views over the city!
Rooms were a bit too cold. There is an air conditioner which is also able to heat. However, the remote is written in Japanese.

Location was excellent - in the heart of the temple area in Kyoto. Great large room and shared guest spaces. Bathroom what you expect in Japan.

Excellent location on the eastern district of Kyoto. Just 2 mn from the great buddha. Splendid view of Kyoto. The hosts are very kind. The only drawback: no JR line nearby. Suggest arriving by taxi ( not before 3 pm)

I asked to store the luggage for a few hours and was told I will have to pay extra for that. Rooms look outdated, old.

Really friendly owners (and cute dogs!). Amazing view over the city, especially at night. Lovely breakfast with a great view. Get a taxi to and from the station, because it's up a hill and hard to find. Rooms are basic and a bit old fashioned, but if you're out all day exploring then this isn't really an issue. Private bathrooms are good.
The location is good because it's near interesting sights like Kiyomizudera. But, it's right at the top of a hill, and it's not well lit at night. There's always people around, but it was a bit inconvenient. I think it's a bit expensive for what it is.
