An unforgettable experience to say the least. Rented a 7 seater through Enterprise to bring something back from Chicago. At first they didn’t have the car i had requested due to problems out of their reach, but Sarah was quick to rectify and switched it to another one equally as good with no time wasted. Come time to the payment, I reluctantly took Enterprises insurance at a staggering 40 dollars a day (Pricey, i know)! And we were on our way. The car ran great and was immaculately clean. We stopped along the way in Detroit for two nights to cut the travel time in half and to shop. Getting out of the airbnb to continue our journey, i made a shocking discovery. Our wonderful Chrysler Pacifica was gone. Confirming the stereotypes of Detroit our car was stolen. I called Sarah at Enterprise and she was quick to guide me in the right direction on getting a replacement Pacifica on the same day. The reluctance i had in paying 40 dollars a day for the Enterprise insurance saved my butt! With Sara’s calm expertise in handling the situation and wonderful customer service, I had one of my best experiences in renting a car. It felt like i was talking to a longtime friend. I don’t usually write reviews for places but this was something i had to make an exception for as the experience was exceptionally great.

Convenient location right by the terminal, not the cheapest option but reasonable but the bonus is open much later for pickup/return if you're flying in late. Everything was a breeze, no issues at all.

I was asked to fork out $750 for some kind of deposit?! Not mentioned anywhere that I could see.. The guy assured me it would be refunded upon return of the car, though it’s been a few days now and nothing has been refunded to my credit card. Would’ve been nice to be forewarned of a $750 down payment!!

It was straight forward, but the instructions/ process was never explained to me, and I had to ask about every detail of the contract to get an overview of what im liable for. also the car only has 3rd party insurance and its an extra 30$ a day to get the car insured outside of that

The staff was really friendly and the check in was very fast. We also liked the free drop off at the ferry terminal so we didn’t need to pay for a cab. They also do free pickups or car delivery to the ferry station which we didn’t know before.

They tried to give us a vehicle that was smaller than what we requested for the same rate. Then they gave us a vehicle that didn’t hold the amount of luggage that was advertised. We had to put luggage on some of the seats and in between the front seat and next row of seats.

Issue was with Kayak and Driving Force. Kayak confirmed we had a Honda civic with unlimited milage. Driving Force does not even carry civics in Thunder Bay and although there was on truck available that day, the manager wanted to charge me $120. a day with a 100 km limit for the day. The original confirmed civic would have cost $61. I believe that as a customer with a confirmed reservation, the truck should have been rented to me for the same conditions as the civic - $61 with unlimited milage. As a result I was without a vehicle for the entire business trip. Thanks Kayak and thanks Driving Force....

Initially when renting the car things were good. I got a pretty well new ride. The papers I received with damage etc gave no indication of any damage to said car. We were informed that because I declined insurance any damage was my problem. So a few days into my visit as I was walking towards car I noticed a dent in rear trunk area. Not noticed before or declared. I was upset someone struck the car and left. My heart sunk. I called my insurance company in BC and got the info I needed for claims. I took said car into Healys autorepair for an estimate. I returned car and admitted to the dent. Young fella took info but after discussion the lady attending went through her phone and admitted the ding was there already. I was relieved but afterwards thought you could do better. If not for her honesty would i have been charged??For Several days this weighed heavy on me. Debra Martens

Double charged me , over $900 on my card for a different reservation when I prepaid for my reservation. Having to waste hours of my time trying to get this money back now. Picking up was a disaster and tons of people waiting hours past reservation time, most ended up cancelling and going with other company at airport.

The ease of the transaction was great, however the availability of the car I wanted was not there, I settled gor an SUV for the first 2 weeks, thought I would get a car for the 2nd 2 weeks, but the carbi wanted wax not avaliable again.

I arrived on-time with my reservation number (I reserved a van 1 week before) and was told that there must have been a glitch online because they did not have my reservation in their system. They said they didn't have a 7 seater available and there was nothing they could do to help me. I was furious because I needed to drive 6 children to a youth event that evening! I ended up finding another rental at another company for triple the price of the ACE rental. Do not rent from them! Your rental confirmation number does not ensure you get the car you booked!

Chaotic pickup where I surprisingly had to provide proof of insurance, sign different documents every couple minutes, and wait for the employees to prepare the vehicle—things that should have been done in advance. Scammy. They tried to claim previous damage to the vehicle was my fault—that I chipped the windshield. They wanted to charge me $700. When I disputed it and said I had photos of the vehicle, they reversed their decision. Avoid this company.

I was told I would get 25km free when I rented this vehicle and it’s been a struggle to get that. Routes charged for for the full km without giving me the 25 free and now trying to get that back has been very annoying. Would not recommend going here go elsewhere and save you a headache.

On Kayak's website, it stated that the rental car came with unlimited mileage. However, when I arrived to pick up the car, I was informed that there was actually a limit and I would have to pay extra for every kilometer over that limit. The rental location was in disarray, with a dirty floor and overflowing garbage. Despite standing there for a while, no one approached me to assist with my reservation until I had to ask for help. I did not proceed with the reservation and let’s say this would be my last time booking or trusting kayak or that rental company.

There was garbage in the glove box from a previous renter. I specifically booked an SUV to accommodate people, luggage, and a baby stroller that I'd be picking up from the airport, and was instead given a compact SUV. It wasn't big enough and the rental company told me I could have a Corolla instead, which was not a good joke. They said the compact SUV was a "similar category" as the one I booked, but it was clearly not what I booked or what I needed. Because of the size issue, I ended up picking up only some of the people from the airport, and had to send the rest on the train into town.

Representative at car rental place was honest. Everything was exceptionally poor. We had made reservation for SUV 1 month in advance and did online checkin submitting copy of our license and insurance several days back confirming reservation. When we reach the airport and called for shuttle, the rental place said that THERE ARE NO CARS AVAILABLE. We said we have reservation, they said they can’t help, no cars came back to give it to us and we should look at other places. Ultimately they said they have a Honda civic that they can give and that’s their last car. We went to pick that up to the rental place which is far not at airport. It was basic model Honda civic so we asked for refund for rest of the money since we paid for SUV, they said no it’s same price we can take it or leave it. He also said that they overbook cars rentals by 25% and everyone showed up so we ended up with no vehicle. We took the car but unfortunately we could hardly breath in it because it was filled with SMOKE. we had to leave windows open for 3 days to be able to breath. It was a terrible experience

When we arrived the car ready for us was a 5-passenger, not a 7 as we had reserved. After some discussion, an 8-passenger car was made available at the agreed-upon rate, but we had to wait 30 minutes while it was prepared. That car was still not really clean, especially the inside of the windshield. The tires were also way over-inflated. It proved to be a good vehicle over the two weeks we had it. The staff at the location were courteous and freindly, if a little disorganized.

Found an old water bottle in the car so wasn’t cleaned very thoroughly but it’s a new car so wasn’t visibly dirty. Pick up and drop off was super easy, no hidden fees, accepted that I had insurance through my credit card and didn’t try and sell me any. Staff was kind.

The car was too big. I asked for a smaller one but didn’t get it. The car stalled twice during my two day rental. On drop off, I asked for a courtesy ride home…literally a 9 min drive and they said they couldn’t. The Europcar operates out of Routes. I won’t use them again.

STAY AWAY!!! The car was advertised with unlimited miles when booking. At the rental station they said that they have their own policy and only allow 200km/day. Even after opening a claim that was not changed. Additionally, very slow pickup process and every person that was with me at the rental station in Calgary had either issues with the KM, out of province policy or insurance policy. TOTAL RIP OFF

Only 400Km in total (Ontario & US) for your rental if you take the car into US for even a day. Also, the cars are not in good mechanical conditions, couldn’t drive above 110KPH on highways! Best to book with some reputable rental companies even if you have to pay a little more!

The drop off/pick up is outside of the airport. If you need to drop off the car early and they are closed you have to drop off the car and take an Uber or taxi to the airport at your own cost. Just a heads up when booking.

Worst experience I’ve EVER had with a rental car. Despite talking to them before I even left my departure airport, when I arrived in YVR and called them for a shuttle to get the car, they told me they didn’t have my reservation. I had prepaid for the car. I was told they didn’t have my reservation (even though they found it during the first call). The guy in the phone was beyond rude and told me that they wouldn’t do anything for me. They weren’t going to help.

I prepaid online and reserved my car to pick up at 8. Arrived at 8 to find no one there, had to call and ask for someone to help me out. I reserved the car at a specific time for a reason, and I wasn’t getting out of there with the car until after 9. A bit ridiculous in my eyes, Such a lack of care to their costumers. Oh wait there’s more. I bought insurance prior on kayak, but not straight from rent-a-car. Resulting in them withholding a massive fee on my credit card and saying I owe them nearly a grand to replace a windshield because of a tiny chip in the windshield due to driving on the highway. I’ve rented cars before and have never dealt with this kind of thing. No windshield replacement should be that much, and the chip is so minor it could easily be filled for very cheap. But instead rent a car is money grabbing and taking advantage of me. In the process of trying to figure out my claim with the third party insurance, which of course has not been easy. All in all I’m extremely upset by my experience and would recommend you go else where to rent a car.

When we got to the rental office, they took our information and told us they were taking us to our car. They did not have a car for us, but instead referred our reservation to another company without telling us. We were then given a smaller vehicle for our group which we had TO PAY AGAIN FOR AND FOR MORE MONEY!! We were squeezed into the smaller SUV. This smelled like a bait and switch operation. As we were returning our car, I overheard another man having the same conversation I had a week earlier. NEVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!

They overbooked their cars which lead to them saying there was no car available for us. If I didnt put up a fuss they would not have figured something out. They called a different rental company a few minutes drive away, however it ended up limiting our daily usage from unlimited to only 200km/day. There was also no shuttle on the return date and this other place was a 2 hour walk or 45 minute transit away from the airport

I was not able to speak with an agent during business hours to change my pickup time due to a delayed flight. Because I wasn’t able to have the car held, I had to pay walk up prices elsewhere and have absorbed that cost, being much more than budgeted for my travels. We had a new Toyota Rav4, which seemed great, but the computer screen on the dashboard was frozen or restarting/glitching. We had 6 hours of driving to our destination, plus 3 more days with no bluetooth or access to radio. Requested a small partial refund and they offered a future discount instead. Other than forced raw-dogged travel for a business trip it was fine.

Advantage uses another agency at the airport. They are difficult to get to, the shuttle doesn’t run very often and they are hidden down a hallway in a hotel. The office at this place called York is only open 9-6 and there are no after hours pick ups or drop offs but that was NOT made obvious during the rental booking process. Because the shuttle took so long for pick up I arrived at the office at 6:10. No one was there. I tried calling the number - voicemail full. I was given the advantage number to call for issues which I did. The person at Advantage said they can’t help me with that particular location and gave me the number I called originally - voicemail full still. Called the next morning when they were supposedly open- no answer - goes to voicemail, voicemail still full even though the office has been open for an hour. I decided to cancel my reservation. Again Advantage said they couldn’t do it I would have to speak to local office, can’t get through to local office. Sent York an email - they replied they cant cancel it, I would have to speak to Expedia. Expedia said they can’t cancel it, I’d have to speak to York. Ended up having to book another car with a different agency. I WOULD NEVER RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE or recommend them.
