The most warm place, it really feels like home.
it was clean and warm
Deal breaker: they did not allow us to leave the luggage a couple hours by the reception. Never had that before, it was a major inconvenience and we had to hide it on the trunk of the car while we visited during the day with risk of getting it stolen. We would have booked another place had we known this in advance. Now other visitors know.
This beautiful hotel is located a few hundred meters from the main gate of the Mystras Historical site. We’re here in winter so we can’t take advantage of the wonderful patio overlooking a lovely orange orchard, but it is very inviting! The hotel was a doctors house and was built in 1850. Beautifully restored. Breakfast room is in what used to be the cellar and had a fantastic mural painted the entire length of the walls and ceiling.
The only sign pointing to the hotel is in Greek! We passed by it three times before we finally asked a passerby where the place is located! Even the sign on the hotel wall is in Greek so pretty much any foreigner won’t recognize it!
The buildings, interiors, facilities and staff are fantastic and we enjoyed our stay there.
Very well located and excellent service and great breakfast.
This small luxury hotel, built in 1850 as the centre of society, stands proudly under the ragged shadow of Mount Taygetos. The imposing mansion has been transformed into a stately guesthouse, trying to preserve and reveal its seductive beauty and calming magnetism with absolute respect to the nature and history of the region. Every room is a distinct, impressive stage design. Luxury, comfort and snugness all coexist in total harmony in every single corner of the Pyrgos Of Mystras. The precious fabrics and the colours that have been selected for the decoration revive memories from the town’s rich history. Bicycles are available for rental at the property. Pyrgos Of Mystra is ideally placed for exploring the town, the Archaeological Museum of Mystras, the Byzantine Cathedral of Agios Dimitrios and many other places of historic interest.
