Beautiful tucked away in the woods feeling. Excellent staff! Very accommodating to our travel plans.
Everything. Room was fantastic, bed was comfy, shower and bathroom were great. Doug who works there was very helpful as well! Would definitely stay again if we return to Terrace.
The lodge itself is an impressive building, the room was very large and the decor was upscale and tasteful.
Confusing check in procedure that left us feeling unwelcome upon arrival. We were greeted by a locked door and a note directing us to ask the restaurant next door to phone the front desk staffer who was in their nearby retail store. The server we dealt with at the restaurant curtly informed us they had nothing to do with the hotel and it wasn’t their job to help us. Happily the chef appeared and immediately called the hotel staffer. Not a pleasant start. That night, a car with booming music and screaming teenagers parked outside our room. After 15 minutes or so, I tried to find a phone number in my room for the “front desk” or someone who could assist - nothing. I dialed zero and just got the hotel’s voicemail. I left a message explaining the problem but doubting I would get a response. 20 minutes later, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Perhaps unwise (55 year old female at 10:45 pm in a virtually abandoned parking surrounded by thick forest). I politely asked the carload of teens to turn the music down and stop screaming which they immediately did. Turns out they were waiting for a friend to get off work at the restaurant. Given the “high end” vibe this hotel is striving for, it shouldn’t have taken a guest to to deal with the issue on their own. It seems to me this lodge is being managed on a shoe string with little attention to detail or customer service. Sad because it has lots of potential.
Good restaurant downstairs.
The property was located right in the middle of highway construction. Back up beepers and heavy equipment noise very early in the morning, even on a Sunday. I was in a room that I had to keep the blackout blinds closed at all times as the windows were right next to the only walkway into the lodge so people could look directly into my room and see me in bed if I left the blinds open. So, noisy and no privacy unless I kept the blinds closed at all times. Not the relaxing lodge in the forest that was advertised. Perhaps other rooms were better, but I won’t be back.
The room was amazing, big and with a balcony!
