Imlil is a great place and Riad Oussagou is a great place to stay if you are visiting. Hussein speaks English and it was great as most Morrocans dont. Great experience. We loved it. The Riad has all the amenities required to enjoy an off the beaten path (read touristy) but still be comfortable. Highly recommend making the trip from Marrakech to this spot especially if you like Mountains/hiking. If so Riad Oussagou is a good place to go.
Food was great but was toned down for western palates. I would have loved to have the real stuff with spices

The family running the Riad were very welcoming and helpful. If you dine at the Riad you will be served tasty, wholesome, and hearty meals, very welcome after a day's walking. You are also likely to be able to exchange tales of trekking in the Atlas Mountains and ascending Mount Toubkal with a interesting, cosmopolitan mixture of other guests. If you do intend going up Toubkal I would recommend getting a guide and ensuring you have proper clothing for the summit.
You do need to be aware that if you are going to stay in Imlil there is no bank or ATM and Credit Cards are not accepted. This means that you need to take sufficient cash with you to cover your bills, taxis, purchases of Berber rugs etc. etc.

clean, friendly stuff, good dinner for a correct price, nice views from the terrace, great location after a trek
If you come from the Jebel Toubkal trek, we have to count 30 minutes more for reaching this riad.

Excellent value for money in heart of Atlas Mountains - hotel staff were exceedingly helpful and location in the heart of Berber villages was just as described.
