Breakfast was fantastic as was dinner!
Maybe a fire lit somewhere/anywhere on the first night to make a warm welcome. In fairness there was one lit on the second evening. Staff - although quite inexperienced needn't keep reminding guests that they were all new to the business! Very helpful individuals but didn't follow through with requests - two examples, being no response to an email prior to arrival about charging facilities for electric vehicles and no follow up when asked about having a feather pillow in the room.
The staff was very friendly. The dinner cooked by chef, Alistair, was superb! My husband said it was the best lamb he had ever eaten. The people who stayed there were locals so that was nice. The rooms were decent. The price was reasonable.
This should not be called a castle-it's misleading. It was an old hunting lodge and that's what it should be called. The property is, what I consider, dilapidated. I understand that there is a change of ownership and hopefully restoration of the property is underway. It needs a lot of work which the staff knew. There was no water pressure in one of our rooms and the internet was also weak.
All the food was excellent. Staff were very friendly.
Could of had storage/ dry room for ski equipment. I felt the starters and puddings were a little over priced.
Nice location, charming property, lovely fireplace in the lounge. Excellent breakfast.
Cold room on arrival but electric heather was supplied and heated room well. Low water pressure in the shower on the first floor.
The location, character, very helpful staff, excellent food.
The driveway needs attention
