It was a very convenient location in the city in easy reach of the centre and placea of special interest. If you are a cricket fan it is very close to the ground.
Hotel/Pub In need of a little 'tlc' . It took 'Reception' member of staff some time to even notice we were standing there despite my daughter and I conversing together so we decided to press the bell on the counter to try and attract the attention of a 'proper' member of staff. Almost reluctantly male staff member at desk 'dealt' with us. A little staff training in communicating with the guests, how to say 'good morning' 'can I help you' etc may add a little warmth to ones stay. Perhaps they have enough business, are so busy that they don't need to bother too much and management don't see the need to be involved at the sharp end. They should be! They need to look at things as if they were a customer with a critical eye and thinking'do some of our staff need a kick up the rear end?'. It's on a busy main road some may prefer somewhere without the traffic and if the cricket is on somewhere without the celebrating or commiserating fans who may be in the room above you 'dancing/singing' or outside the pub below 'Brits at play'
