Pros:The car. It was nice and clean and easy to drive.
Cons:The fact that we were limited to only 300km which really restricted where we could go and what we could see. Also what really annoyed me was that I arrived late due to flights delayed so I asked weather I could return the car later and was told no because it was booked out at 13:00 that day which is fair enough. But to my disbelief I walked past where I had dropped the car off at 14:00 and the car was still there. I really don't appreciate being lied to by the customer facing staff and would never use them again because of this.

Cons:No one available at drop off. For a city the size of Tromso and an airport with heavy traffic, not having an office open on Sunday is unusual. It was unclear why there was a large advertisement for a company or something on the doors of the car - should have gotten a discount for double use of the car!

Cons:The guy at Budget counter gave me wrong info and I had to pay 2 times more than my contract.
Pros:The only good point was that as I spotted a rock between the tire and the wheel on the car they wanted to give us, they have been obliged to change us for another car which was really well equipped (4x4 and spikes tires) but we felt it hurt them and after how they treated us, it was quite good.
Cons:Upon arrival, they told us that we had no choice than taking an insurance for the rent. We booked without insurance because we have it through our credit card but they didn't wanted to consider this. They just said "it's doesn't work like that in Norway". Our only other alternative proposed was to allow them to book the full price of the car on my card which is obviously not an option. The attitude of this guy was just unacceptable with this little smile just saying that he was cheating us but as they are alone in town, they know that we have no choice. After being obliged to pay for this insurance which was nearly half of the price of our rent, they bring the car and here it continues: 3 damages not mentionned on the contract and regular winter tires... for information, the road where full of pure Ice and everyone was driving with tires with spikes. Hopefully, I spotted a dangerous rock between the tire and the wheel and they were obliged to change us the car... however, this isn't acceptable neither as they would have give me the car like this which was really dangerous if I didn't checked in details myself. I am of course gone a claim also at Budget directly.
Cons:I went to pick up the car, which Budget/Kayak informed me would be $110 for my visit. I budgeted that much and maybe a little more for fuel and such. When I arrived I was told the third party insurance I had purchased through Budget with this rental was basically useless because the country I was renting in required full insurance coverage at the rental office. I couldn't afford this now over double the cost, and cancelled my rental. I was pissed. My whole trip was screwed up because of the lack of information Budget/Kayak gave me about the country I was renting in and I won't rent from you again.
Cons:Disclaimer: we did not get the car so we are only reviewing the agency behavior and policy. We initially scheduled the car pickup at 3PM since our next flight was delayed we called the agency to let them know we wouldn’t be able to pick it up on the same day but would come the next day. We did not ask for any price discount or anything, just to inform them. The person we spoke to enquired about the time we would come in on the next day, I asked whether any time was better, he simply replied no, was just to have an idea. We left it there. On the next day, we show up at half past noon, the person at the counter (Seemed to be the agency manager) tells us that he’d given the car to someone else. We then go on to explain the misunderstanding, there was no misunderstanding at all, he was aware of the full situation, just that the price for that rental had doubled up on time. Lame attitude all along, did not try to give us a call, nor produce any apologies or offer a discount on the last available car, which turns out was the same category as the one we booked. Overall really bad experience, I do not recommend because of this incompetent manager.
