Cons: Got the SUV with almost no gas on the tank.
Was told about it though and told that I could return it empty.
But returning empty requires calculation. Not good service to say to a client - "you have to either wait 20 minutes or get it empty".

Pros: We loved our upgrade. We locked the keys in car and had prompt service on our last day.( 78 $ charge) No hidden charges however we purchased insurance through kayak and need to follow up to see if we can be reimbursed.

Pros: Staff were friendly and professional. Renting was hassle-free, fast and straightforward.
Cons: Would've liked if there was more clarify around rental insurance rates offered by Kayak versus insurance rates offered by Enterprise as well as what happens when a renter elects one over the other. Also, information on how a customer can make an informed selection of one over the other before one picked up the car would've been helpful. Inconsequential for me in the end, but not for the couple in front of me.
Pros: Quick process, quick pickup and drop off

Cons: Car had some crumbs left around

Pros: 1- I needed a bigger car than what I had booked originally, but the upgrade rate was very reasonable.
2- I was late for two hours on return due to heavy traffic. They didn't charge me any extras.
Very efficient, friendly, and helpful staff.

Good price and nice car
Pros: The Dollar rental office at Toronto Pearson was shabby and awful, and has been that way for some time. Sad to see the company does not care about the appearance of their office for their own staff and customers. However their customer service is great and I'd recommend them.

Pros: The pickup location was at the airport which decreased the amount that we had to walk.
Cons: We were charged an additional $40 after I let the agent know that our flight out had changed and we would need the car for 2 additional hours. The Rav4 that we got was pretty dirty when we got it. We fould garbage tucked inbetewwn the seats and in the armrest.

Pros: The person behind the counter at Dollar was very courteous, fast, and pleasant. I was also very happy she didn't try to up-sell me on insurance like so many other companies do.
Cons: I had two small problems:
1. I had some difficulty locating on the reservation email with which company I had reserved my car. I believe it was because it was on page 2. Maybe the rental company name could have been more prominent, hire on the page/email or maybe the logo larger?
2. Coming out of the airport toward the rental cars, there wasn't a Dollar/Thrifty sign sign indicating where the counter was located. We ended up going to the Hertz counter and they directed us to the Dollar counter.

Bad re-fueling policy
Pros: Car was new
Cons: Imposed a difficult requirement regarding re-fueling, but did not explain or offer prepaid gas. The charge that I received due to that failure was four times the price of the original rental. I could have rented a much better car for that price.
Excellent Service but Downtown Return is Difficult
Pros: The service is good, car is well kept and clean. No issue at all.
Cons: Downtown return is a little tricky especiallly during the peak hours. Overall experience is not bad.

Great car, tricky drop off
Pros: Easy to rent and pick up; car in excellent condition.
Cons: I was told to drop off after hours by entering the same parking garage as where I picked up the vehicle. It turns out there was a separate entrance from a different street in order to access the drop off
Location (Bloor and Yonge). Spent 40 minutes in a Parkin garage trying to figure it out.
Pros: Clean car, nice upgrade
Drop off charge was usurious

Overall wonderful experience
Pros: Folks at pick up were very pleasant and excellent at recommending a vehicle for my long drive. I went with their suggested Ford F-150 which I would have never chosen-but it turned out to be an awesome ride! Thank you!
Cons: Could not process me at drop off...had to go back to the counter to be checked out-unfortunately there was a massive line at the airport counter which was time consuming.

Cons: Had paid for/ reserved SUV to seat 7 adults with 5 bags; cud fit in 5 with 5 bags only. Was a big inconvenience, they had only 1 SUV ready for pickup, so didn't have an option :(

Pros: after hours drop off box that budget online reservation staff assured me did not exist, after telling me that I had to drive the car back to the airport since I could not drop off the car after hours (they were wrong)
Cons: Didn't directly interact with the staff there since they were closed but it's unacceptable that budget doesn't even know which locations have after hours dropoff capability.

The budget sales rep was terrible.
Cons: They tried to overcharge me for being an hour late!!
Pros: The rental was cheap. Going across international borders & dropping off in a different city was easy. And the customer service was great--very friendly, informative, and helpful.
Cons: The only thing was that the office was hard to find. Maybe better signage or more thorough directions on Kayak's website?

Flawless Cross Border Rental
Pros: I rented from Alamo, but picked up from their share partner National in Toronto city. I was hesitant about renting a car and crossing the border into the USA but the whole trip was flawless. I returned the car to Buffalo without any problems.
Cons: Since there were no US vehicles, I drove a Nissan Sentra with Ontario plates. You need to be aware that Canadian cars don't use the imperial system, everything is in metrics. So when Google says 'drive for 14 miles', you do have to make some calculations.
Cons: Upon arrival the ACE office was unable to locate my reservation. After being transferred around with different representatives, they finally said my car reservation was CANCELLED. I ended up having to pay a lot more with another rent a card. I want compensation for this (for the extra money I spent and the time I wasted).
As someone who booked many trips with KAYAK, what can you do to help me out?

Discount Car customer service sucks
Cons: I made a repaid reservation online through Discount Car. However, they didn't have the model I reserved when I showed up. I was offered a cheaper model, but the customer service said they would get back to me in two or three days later about POTENTIALLY refunding part of my rental fee if I were to choose the cheaper model...
Cons: hidden charges that accounted for almost 50% of the rental...
and then a "too bad sucker" attitude when questioned

Cons: We actually cancelled the reservation and did not use Thrifty as we actually wanted to pick up the car at the airport or else get a Thrifty shuttle to pick us up at the airport and bring us to the office on Steeles Avenue.
Cons: I asked to pick up the car at the airport and the agency claimed that the pick up should be in the city otherwise the price will be increased!
In addition the original price was not including insurance which cost me eventually around 500 CAD!
So instead Of 780USD I Was charged 1800CAD!
Read between the lines and verify everything 10 times before you book your car!
