The guy who collected our keys at drop off didn’t have “Hertz” visible (open lapel was covering it), which made my wife uneasy, as he was just standing there clearly looking at us get our things out of the car. Then he came closer and spoke to us. Just a minor miscommunication we laughed about.

We waited TWO HOURS (past reservation time!) for our car to arrive. Customer after customer (before and after us) had the same experience. The staff did a great job of communicating and keeping everyone informed, but a two hour wait for a car reserved in advance is just shocking.

Terrible! They didn’t accept the booking and so wouldn’t let me rent because I didn’t have a Canadian credit card. Indeed, im not Canadian so why would I have one? Do they not rent to tourists? Non-sense…

Pros:

Staff was nice.

Cons:

The pick up was very difficult. The office was very hard to find. The Shuttle bus never picked us up. We had to take a $15 taxi from the airport. We could have had much better instructions from kayak.

They charged me more saying that the rates are different from online and argued with me that they can not provide the car to me based on my online booking and they are not responsible for kayak booking.

Cons:

Kayak and Hotwire gave me a deal for a vehicle that doesn’t available. I made reservation on the web side for a full size sedan but ended up renting a full size Suv since there it’s the only option left they have. The price was much higher than expected also, $ 300 increased compare to the reservation. In short, these third parties website does poorly in updating the availability of vehicles.

the car was quite dirty, especially on the inside. the fuel indicator said the tank was full, but it wasn't entirely full so when I added gas I spent more than I should. when I brought the car back, although the return was scheduled for 3pm and I delivered it at 2:56pm, they still tried to charge me $81 for 1h late fee, since the pick-up time was 2:47pm. even so, it's just a 10 min extra. I had to go back to the store where they said there is actually a 30 minutes grace period for returns and the clerk removed it from the charges, but still they shouldn't even have tried to charge me that in the first place. clearly they try that with anyone and if you don't pay attention you'll end up paying for something you shouldn't.

Confusing set up, difficult to return vehicle. Missing info. Not impressed Why you gave us a BMW SUV instead of intermediate KIA vehicle causing us to pay higher fuel costs wasn't appreciated. Not pleasant experience.
