Hotels near Cotonou airport

Pros: The staff were the MVPs of this review. Yes, the hotel is well-appointed and is exactly as advertised but i really want to highlight the staff's service level. Guest services incl check in, facilities and security staff and Restaurant/Bar staff 10/10

Cons: The price of Euro 150 per night is excessive for the standard of room, where the furniture is very basic and in the morning there was no hot water. The restaurant has a very limited menu to choose from, and the food was really of average taste and quality. One cant eat at the restaurant terrace as it is full of smokers so one has to eat in the airconditioned interior dinning room. To be very honest considering Euro 600 spent for 4 nights without dinner! I felt ripped off!

Pros: I stayed at Hotel Maison Rouge in Cotonou for a week after several weeks of travelling. Hotel Maison Rouge was the ideal place to stay to relax and recharge, with all needs met well. Celine and her staff provided exceptional service in a beautiful, serene setting.

Pros: Extremely friendly staff, they have been helpful and considerate. They were extremely careful not to miss picking me up from the airport, they called and send emails, I have never experienced anything like that. And when I reached, because my room was not ready, so they upgraded my room and offered me free breakfast till they prepare the room

Cons: no much activities to be done during the evening

Pros: The food..omelette and the chicken were perfect. Our spotlessly clean room overlooked a small, but well kept garden which made for excellent pictures and a very noise-free stay. But we would visit this hotel again mostly because of the staff...everyone was cheerful and friendly and we felt right at home from start to finish. Special shout out to Sitou and Kossi for making our stay truly comfortable.

Cons: It's very difficult to find flaws with this hotel. There were 2 issues during our stay; some repair work going on next door and a little problem with the booking, both were swiftly resolved before they could become an annoyance. If I could change anything, it would be bigger food portions :)

Pros: A very nice boutique hotel with art everywhere. A perfect place to spend a night when you arrive/leave Benin since it is 2 min driving from the airport, free transfer.

Pros: The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a great place to relax in the evenings. It is well maintained and clean with good facilities.

Cons: Wifi was a bit patchy, but that is true wherever you stay in Benin

Pros: Good management and service. my family and me living in Ghana since 3 years have been so surprised to see their efficiency concerning the food providing and management during our stay. In Ghana, even Accra, once you order your food, they let you wait 2 hours, food is sometimes cold, too spicy for kids (in general, Ghanaian kids eat pilipili from early age). We stayed 3 nights and we had all meals in the Inn. Chef knows foreigners tastes and surprised us every time with his fantastic taste for several dishes. Management and all stuffs were very polite and honest. They can give you lot of advices for planing your trip. We will definitely go back again. We absolutely recommend.

Cons: There was no wifi. Rental bicycle is not available but it’s indicated in the hotel description.

Pros: Very nice food. But the restaurant was very stingy with the buffet. Very strange. I have never seen any thing like that. Counting pieces of chicken in a buffet

Cons: 2nd floor was terrible! Dump, soaked moldy ceiling that was sickening. I informed the hotel about the urgency to fix it

Pros: Location was perfect for me as I had a number of meetings in the business district and they were all withn a 5 - 10m taxi ride.

Cons: The facilities are old and tacky. Restaurant is over prices and selection of food was poor. I had chicken one night and it was so dry I couldn't even cut it with a stake knife. The pool is on, but you have to cross the internal road to get there. Gym was poor, really congested with all kind of machines, dirty and no sweat towels in sight. Room was basic, fridge in the room did not work, the water in the fridge was refilled as both bottles of water had the caps opened before, TV all in French (besides BBC) and poor channel selection

Pros: Breakfst was weak. We are already able to eat outside of city and i would expect some more kind.

Pros: I have previously stayed at Bénin Royal . This stay was the third or the fourth.

Cons: 1. There were cockroaches in my room. Previously , I had reported to the front desk and this time, I did report again. This is inacceptable in my view and it has influenced my opinion. 2. When I checked out, they sent a staff to look in the room whether nothing was misplaced. That is their right but they should do it discretely. Doing it openly send a message tha “we don’t trust you”

Pros: The staff was super helpful . They arranged to get SIM cards for us, transport to the market with directions written in French and dinner recommendations. The rooms were clean.

Cons: The hallways were a bit dingy

Pros: The staff was extremely helpful and efficient. Couldn't have asked for better logistical and other support. They made my stay in Benin go better than I could have wished for.

Cons: I saw a cockroach in my room.Secondly on the morning of our departure breakfast was not brought to our room as requested and agreed upon the previous night with the chef and the poor attitude of the chef on the morning of our departure in the breakfast room.There was no apology for failing to bring breakfast to the room even after several calls.In addition most of the channels were in french without English subtitles,hence we couldn't watch TV Finally the room was too small for the huge amount of money paid for the hotel stay

Pros: It has the trappings of a good hotel - concierge service, airport shuttle, attentive staff etc. The rooms are nice and modern. Highly recommend the little extra for a balcony, which was great.

Cons: Except for the rooms the building is tired; it was probably great 20-30 years ago but less so now. The restaurant feels kind of oppressive to be in. Not much life to the place. If you ever wanted to live out one of those post-apocalypse movies where they hang around in a crumbling grand hotel then this is the place for you.

Cons: I was given a musty smelling room on the second floor, no natural day light since it faced a dark dirty courtyard. No windows, no views, very sad experience. Staff at the reception were quite unfriendly too, not too willing to help. Gym had really old machines, none of them were working properly.

Pros: The breakfast was okay! There could be room for improvement. I enjoy what was served. I can say much in as much that i do not eat that much. But generally speaking, i think the breakfast was not bad.

Cons: I did not like the fact that i have to walk down to Novel hotel for my lunch and diner even though it was a sister company. I did not like that arrangement at all. It takes out the discretion about my stay!

Pros: security. security staff members remembers me and happy to negotiate the price of taxi or zem.

Cons: staff attitude at front desk was the worst among other ibis hotels. one of staff members thew a towel to me. they wake me up to pay one more night fee during my sleeping even if i reserved online and told to the front desk staff in advance. staff members can't share information among colleagues at all. shower head was broken so couldn't take a shower comfortably. complimentary water will be offered ONLY FIRST DAY even if you stay for a week.

Cons: the price is expensive the lobby not comfortable no signage confirm the access on the activities in Notelet hotel for free some days at breakfast time lot of humidity inside the restaurant area (without A/C)

Pros: Location very good, free shuttle service included, breakfast reasonable for the rate, clean room, good bed, low noise, working AC, functional elevator, kind reception staff with good English speaking level

Cons: For the paid rate, I was expecting 1 bottle of water free per day as courtesy. Breakfast OK, scrambled eggs to soft, suggested more sugar options available on the table (no brown sugar for instance), the fridge in the room was empty but plugged in, so consuming energy for nothing; very low level of liquid soap and shower gel.

Cons: 1.No hot water to bath (heater) 2.The bed can start up a back pain 3.Facilities are very Old now (sink,walls are drained with water) 4.Bed is too small for the size of the room and a superior (room after the single) 5.Wifi is poor 6.Boring environment 7.No more Spa as before and yet it is on their site 8.Air conditioner very weak 9.No fridge in a room 10.No English Channels on their TV Stations ( this appears to be a general issue in the country) 11.The Gym is not available again unlike 2016 when I visited before now. 12.staff have lost their enthusiasm though very great personalities So you remind them of towel,soap. 13.No telephone,no dustbin as little as these things are.

Pros: The moment I checked in, I was greeted by this very calm and peaceful environment. My room was clean and spacious. It was cool and fresh all the while. The staff were accommodating and cordial too. Their fried fish and rice is a meal any guest should try out.

Cons: I stayed only for four nights, and in those four nights, there was nothing I did not like in particular. Oh, there is something. I think they changed the cleaning staff at some point. The one who took over from the first one did not do a thorough cleaning on the bathroom. She left water on the floor, and some splashed on the toilet seat. Aside from that, all was well.

Pros: For the money asked it was great. The facilities and rooms need a little cosmetic improvement. You can tell that it is a little run-down but again this is 1/4 of the price of a top hotel and the pool area makes it feel like a resort area. The staff was incredible and willing to help in any way we could. We came with lots of kids and they were willing to up an extra bed in our room. The rooms are big and face the pool. They let us stay in the room way past our checkout time with no issues. It was really good for the money that I paid.

Cons: The need to fix some things. Just little details. Because all the rooms are not rented all the time they need to be cleaned more often even if people have not stayed there. They need to fix some of the mosquito nets in the bathrooms. Make sure the fridge is clean. However when I found something that was not to my liking - I just asked and they jumped right to fixing it.

Pros: Everything...but especially the staff.
