The Stone Hedge Bed And Breakfast - Richmond - Bedroom

9.5 Excellent (294 reviews)
C$ 188+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at The Stone Hedge Bed and Breakfast in Richmond, you'll be a 5-minute drive from Richmond Centre Mall and 8 minutes from Richmond Night Market. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary at scheduled times.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Brian was very friendly and made me feel at home from the start. Room and bathroom were spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Although about 15 minutes from YVR it was absolutely quiet. Great place to stay. Brian even gave me his homemade crab apple jelly which I really like!
Cons: I can't think of anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pretty much everything was better than I expected. After staying a night at stone hedge, hotels should reduce prices by 75% to remain in business. I’ll seek out this style of life on every future trip if at all possible, and a high bar has been set!
Cons: No fault of anyone and not a complaint but the 2nd and 3rd “reminder” email of the reservation didn’t mention the check in time of 1600 hours local. I arrived at a typical 11:30. My plan was to confirm the location and leave our luggage. The staff adapted for us quite well!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was an absolutely outstanding, multi-course delight - thank you, Linda. The magnanimous other host (Brian) picked us up from the bus we took after departing the ferry and the next day took us to the airport. Comfortable bed. Friendly, engaging and interesting host.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Brian and Linda are excellent hosts and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable as well as going the extra mile so we could get to transportation hubs.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location for Vancouver airport and a really comfortable stay. Brian is the perfect host, serving up a delicious breakfast fit for a Viennese king.

9.7 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very responsive to all questions, and made me right at home. The room and house were very clean and comfortable. The owner even helped me with scheduling an early morning taxi on my last day.
Cons: The location was just over zoning lines for taxi fares from the airport so the cost was a little more expensive. This wasn't a deal breaker.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I missed my flight and suddenly needed a place to stay safely near YVR airport. Immediate and excellent help was provided to solve all my trouble at the time. I will select first the Teresa's House when I transit at YVR airport next time again! Excellent service was offered for young passenger travel alone (miminum age 18).
Cons: There was no free shuttle but pick-up service was arranged immediately. There was no dinner, breakfast available but I could buy food and drink at the airport before pick-up, snack & drink was available in the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Continental breakfast-homemade breads, muffins, fruit and cereals were excellent. Overall stay was comfortable....
Cons: A malfunction in the heating system could have been a problem but was quickly rectified to provide us with an alternate heat source.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: I don’t have anything to complain about.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for catching the BC ferries or airport. Loved visiting the historic Steveston.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: 7km to airport and a thirty minute walk to the supermarket and restaurants. Plenty of parking if you drive. Teresa has three bedrooms but only one with ensuite. If you are happy to share then stay here. Teresa and husband are very friendly and carried our luggage up stairs and down to the car on checkout.
Cons: There is really nothing we didn't like.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I was very disappointed. It was advertised as a bed and breakfast. The comments on the web page said how much customers enjoyed meeting people over breakfast. There was no place on the web page that said there was no breakfast. We only learned of it when our confirmation was emailed to us. Not good enough. It left a sour taste in my mouth. It was a good property, good staff, good value that was tainted by not telling the whole truth.
Cons: See above!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host is super nice! Room is clean and big. Location is convenient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Theresa is lovely and accommodating.
6.8 Good
Pros: the house is nice and clean

Pros: Fantastic stay ! They had an offer to upgrade to the gold floor with oversized room and ensuite with hot tub. Pros: No issues with room or hotel staff or restaurant.
Cons: Though the hotel runs shuttle servic to YVR every 30 minutes...I was disappointed that there was not shuttle service from Bridgeport station approx. 6/10 of a kilometer away. We had to walk with our bags the 6/10 of a kilometer that was not an easy task!

Pros: The shower was fantastic, the bedding super comfortable and the location "near" the airport was convenient.
Cons: The area around this hotel was not attractive and not near anything easily walkable. Construction everywhere- but I guess in a way that's Vancouver...
5.8 Okay
Cons: came into the hotel at 12:30 am and was given a room that vibrated. I thought it might be me because I had been travelling all day but when I tried to sleep the bed giggled. Front desk staff told me I got the last room. I called the desk and they came to room 307 and said 'yes, it is vibrating.' It seems they did have another room. Moved there at 2 am. Only five more hours to sleep before my next flight. When I check out they agreed to email my paid invoice but I had to call they next day to get it. Not impressed!

Pros: Very helpful staff on arrival. Had early morning start and Wally was very kind and made sure I had a hot drink before I left. Don't drink coffee so he made tea from the restaurant. Thanks again Wally
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room, the staff, and the location was great!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean, spaceous room. The bed was also good. Good dark gardines at the windows which stop light to get to the room. I was driving there from ferry terminal, so stopping to overnight was a good idea as I was coming back to the mainland at the night time, and the hotel is just in between the ferry terminal and the airport. the price was also good comparing to the other properties and midnught checkin time.
Cons: didnt really like the breakfast (even if this is for the money, it was a bit poor choice as for my taste). Maybe different people have different expecations, it's just me who is used to Nordic choices for the breakfast. Here it was possible to take a toast/cruisane, scrambled egg, sausage and oats. That costs 10 EUR.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to assist us
5.0 Okay
Cons: Very noisy guests and staff did nothing to stop or curtail noise.
4.5 Okay
Cons: We paid over 250 US dollars to book one king bed room for one night but our experience could not be worse. First the front desk staff claimed we could only get a queen bedroom instead of what we booked king room. After we insisted, we finally got a king bedroom. As we have a busy schedule next day, we asked more once whether the room is quiet and he claimed it is very quiet. But it turned out the ice maker machine out of the room started to make very loud noises multiple times late night and early morning and all my family memembers were waken up multiple times as the result. Everyone was very sleepy in the morning and it is no exaggeration that our day is pretty much ruined.

Pros: The facilities were great and the staff very accommodating and considerate of my circumstances. They have high quality pillows that did not give me neck pains or a headache.

Pros: Thr bed was comfortable
Cons: We didn't like how the garbage in our room had banana peels etc Also the vent was turned off so we came into a freezing room. Also the sink didnt have soap to wash hands yet the shower had massive bottle of shampoo and bodywash.

Pros: Loved the spaciousness of the room and wonderfully comfortable bed. The dressing area and bathroom were also very nice. Having the shared kitchen available at all hours was also a plus!
Cons: Nothing at all, except for us, we found the drive into and out of Vancouver to be a bit long and tedious. We loved staying here, however, and the price for our three nights more than compensated for the time it took to drive to and from Vancouver. Pros: friendly.
Cons: nothing.

Pros: Calling from the US was impossible due to my cell phone plan and the fact that finding a phone number for the property was difficult. An 800 or equivalent # for all your American guests would be a big help. Also more info on parking costs would help.
Cons: On my second trip to the hotel after returning my rental car, the shuttle van driver was horrible. Gunning the engine only to slam on the brakes 100 feet later. Thank God for seatbelts. Yes, I told the manager. I'd make the guy pay for engine and brake repairs.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location...walking distance to many places to eat. Great host...the hospitality was great.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: nothing
Cons: A very untrustworthy operator. I will set the room for two beds, a double bed and a single bed. But when the hotel was told that there was only one double bed, the other single bed was charged. Accommodation is for pets, but cats can't do it because you are allergic to cats! God! Why do you explain it in advance on BOOKING. Also said to me: This is my house is not a hotel. I don't think you are allergic to cats but allergic to me. I have no way to accept such things. I left this unreasonable place. She still deducted the full room rate. A penny does not return. I am very disappointed with this hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed, very clean room and bathroom, good breakfast.
Cons: There was quite a lot of clutter in the room - cushions, extra furniture etc, which limited space a bit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clair was very accommodating I had arrived late for check in and she had waited for me. My room was very comfortable had everything I needed. Breakfast was breakfast of champions I wish I can have these gourmet breakfasts everyday. Knowledge of surrounding areas Clair was very helpful. I can stay here again no problem. Two thumbs up on the hospitality.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location of the B&B is great. We were able to enjoy the village of Ladner and make a morning ferry. Clair is a kind and friendly hostess. The rooms are clean. The breakfast was excellent.
Cons: The rule against food and drink in the rooms is unusual and an inconvenience. If you know the rule and accept it, you're fine. There is no air conditioning, but this is typical in British Columbia. There are a lot of steps just to get in the building and more if you're upstairs. You need to be aware of this if you have trouble with stairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: For a relaxing getaway, for a place to sleep through the night, for lovers who want to feel as special as their love, or friends who want to take in the best of Ladner, this is the place. Let Clair tell you her history. Better than CBC or National Geographic.
Cons: Nothing could have been better

Pros: The breakfasts were not only excellent, but true works of art in their own right! The decor was wonderfully ecclectic, and the gardens were lovely. Clair herself was a vibrant and enthralling hostess. The house is within easy walking distance of all amenities in Ladner Village.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful decor. Amazing breakfast. Great toiletries and towels. Pet friendly.

Pros: We used this hotel as a stopover before our cruise. We chose this location because of the shuttle service from the airport and it's proximity to the Sky Train station.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The bed was tolerable
Cons: It was dirty. Staff had bad work ethics. Only 2 members keen to assist 1 the front of house and the 2nd being night porter for food. Food wasn’t great but edible just. It was not a Radisson experience. I strongly recommend a freshen up all round including new staff who want a job and can behave respectfully. We had room service walk straight into our room at 7.30. No knocking at all and woke us up. We are exhausted with all the noise during the night so had not long managed to get to sleep. This hotel is an insult for Radisson.

Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms not up to standard
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location, punctual shuttle to and from the airport. Helpful staff, cleanliness, stunning waterfront view.
Cons: A relatively smaller room, for $356 /night got the double-sized beds, minimum Queen sized beds would have been better for that price. Microwave in the room would have been helpful. The washroom door lock was not working.

Pros: Close proximity to the airport, yet on the waterfront which gave a nice openness. Easily accessible with a shuttle bus. Very friendly helpful staff. Clean spacious comfortable room. Good food on the waterfront, at a reasonable price. Plenty of comfortable relaxing seating around the lobby area. Breakfast buffet could be a little better in my personal opinion. However would recommend the stay here as good.
Cons: The breakfast was not as good as the rest of the accomadation and facilities. Needs more choice and ensuring that it is refreshed more regularly.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful with our late night arrival 12:30am,since they have a shuttle service from the airport Staff was wonderful! No problems even when we had food vouchers from the airline. Excellent breakfast and the restaurant opened early morning 5:00am. Highly recommend this hotel!

Pros: I wrote email after the booking to confirm that I booked 2 rooms for me and my wife with one bed and for my 3 kids with separate beds. When I went to the rooms I found each with one queen bed. Cons: Nothing really, I had a bad experience at a neighboring property three weeks ago. This was such a relief, nice staff, nice physical presentation and good price!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: we were late and breakfast was completed at 9. We felt it would be more advantageous to have longer breakfast hours since there was no restaurant on site. Our driver from the airport was cheerful and recommended a great bar nearby. Our driver to the airport was quiet but very careful and efficient. All staff were cheerful and greeted us as they approached. Rooms were tastefully decorated and immaculate. We will stay here again. Hotel is located near a mall within walking distance.
Cons: Breakfast hours were only till 9.
7.5 Good
Pros: It’s accessible to the airport and other restaurants.
Cons: It’s a bit expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly. We had to check out early in the morning to join an one-day guided tour to Vancouver Island. We asked a favor to leave our car at the hotel parking lot until evening, and were assured no problem, really appreciate it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was good, close to the airport with shops and restaurants nearby. It would be especially good if you are Chinese as it seemed to be right in the middle of Chinatown. Breakfast was ok, the usual choices of cereal, bread, waffles and muffins. The hot choices were mixed - the fried potatoes were delicious but the eggs and sausages looked most unappetising so I didn't try them. Everything in the room was fine and I was happy.
Cons: The beds were the smallest we have had on our 3 week trip round Canada, they were doubles rather than queen size.
