Excellent 10.0
Pros: Easy check in. Parking in front. Saunas and powerful showers in basement. Fully equipped kitchen. Great location near center of Seydisfjordur.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Comfortable shared facilities- kitchen, showers, sauna and laundry machines.
Cons: Bed could be more comfortable, but no real complaints.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Unique hostel in historic hospital building, decorated with charming furniture and attention to detail. Huge kitchen with all the equipment you will ever need, parking directly in front of the building. Washer & dryer available, payment based on honor system. Not cheap, but can highly recommend. Seyðisfjörður is a small but colorful harbor town.
Cons: The mountain pass to Seyðisfjörður can be challenging to drive in bad weather conditions.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I loved everything about the property! The self check in was clear and easy, the location was excellent, the rooms and all the amenities such as the full kitchen and the sauna, were amazing as well. This is one of the nicest hostels I’ve ever stayed in. The place is great, and it is run extremely well!
Okay 5.0
Pros: Charm of the old hospital, the sauna
Cons: Room too small and too expensive The village not as pittoresque as described at all, very difficult to reach and snowy road conditions, big big detour over a mountain I cannot recommend to come to this village at all, it is boring
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The village is beautiful, the house is amazing and double room with bathroom was huge and stylish. Great kitchen, place to do laundry... great!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Charming old building. Perfectly equipped kitchen. Clean. Super friendly staff. Parking directly at building. Close to the center.
Cons: Rooms do not get completly dark. As it is an old building, the rooms are not soundproof, so you can hear the other guests outside your room.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: We did not cook at this hostel, but the kitchen was spacious and outfitted with all of the necessary tools and appliances. The communal dining area was neat and comfortable. There was very good cappuccino, available on the honor system. Our room was directly across from the kitchen/dining area, but noise was not an issue as I feared when we checked in.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: The town is great! Beautiful! Very walkable! A lot of history! The location of these hotel ( old bank and post office) were perfect! Parking available and didn’t really need car in town!! I loved the history and repurposing old buildings! For a couple only, this room would be a quaint place for a night or 2.Love the idea, but 4 people won’t fit in one room unless 2 are little kids! But love the idea and buildings are in good repair and clean!!
Cons: The Quad room was Way to Small for 4 adult size people!!! Way too small!!! Traveling with my husband and myself, teenage son and son in 20’s. One of the beds is in the wall with a small opening on one side to climb in 😳😳. Adults? For kids this would probably be great, but not after age 12 or so!! Certainly not adults! Also advertised TV, there is no TV. And would NOT recommend affiliated restaurant. We ate breakfast and it was bread, one type of cheese, tomatoes and a couple of cold cuts, small amount of fruit and coffee. For 4 of us , $80😳😳. Now the brewery for dinner was GREAT!! And only chair in room was uncomfortable ladder back chair.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room and the bathrooms were more spacious than typical rooms in Iceland. The furnishings were also very unique, not generic Ikea. Staff at check-in was welcoming, personable, and helpful. Fresh cappuccino (not from a pod) was available at breakfast and very appreciated.
Cons: We were early in the season and the restaurant was not open. The wifi didn't work initially but worked later in the evening.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location was right next to the famous church. Were very happy with everything.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very nice, historic building. Great location. Very comfortable.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: + very clean + comfortable bed + large room (we stayed in a double room with private bathroom) + well refurbished house and furniture + great price-value proposition (for Iceland)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: it seems we were the only one in the hotel, so it was super quiet. The room is very warm, with a nice view towards the church, the bathroom is spacious. I loved the kettle in the room so i could make my tea in the morning!
Cons: -
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very friendly and handy walking distance to all
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The manager was super nice.
Cons: We loved everything!
Excellent 8.4
Good 7.7
Pros: Beautiful, picturesque little town at the head of a fjord, and without the Hotel Aldan, it would be a lesser place. They've been creative in taking old buildings and converting them into lodging and restaurant (which was perhaps the best feature with some excellent dining).
Cons: The place needs updating, seems rather worn. The wireless internet hardly worked most of the time. When the Costa Fortuna cruise ship docked and disgorged its thousands, it looked like a scene from The Walking Dead: zombie-like people aimlessly standing and strolling outside the hotel with the goal of connecting to its unrestricted wifi. For those of us who were paying guests, that degraded our access.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Beautiful hotel in a beautiful town
Cons: Everything was great
Good 7.0
Pros: Fantastic location right in the town centre, and the town is gorgeous. Staff was really nice.
Cons: The room was more basic than I expected, and very small.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Small and cosy room. 😁
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The size of the space was just right for the price. We liked the views from Hotel Snaefellsnes (Post Office).
Cons: Nothing was really open in early May in the town, and it would have been Nice to know that from property management before arrival.
Poor 1.0
Cons: Nothing in the room. No litterature, no information of any kind,
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We were warmly welcomed at the main building of the hotel by friendly staff, the room was very cosy with a view of the city and the harbour. We were surprised by high quality of the cuisine in the restaurant that belongs to the hotel and have enjoyed a romantic evening there. The staff were also making sure we will enjoy every moment. If you´re a movie fan, this is a must-see for Walter Mitty fans. ;-) ;-)
Cons: That we stayed only one night!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We stayed for one night at Hotel Aldan - the Post Office in Seyðisfjörður and absolutely loved our stay. I was travelling with my husband and my father-in-law so we were looking for a room for 3 people. Our room was on the first floor with a beautiful view of Seyðisfjörður village. I woke up very early in the morning and the water was still with the colourful houses of Seyðisfjörður mirroring beautifully in the water :) Absolutely breathtaking.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Great sized room
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Fantastic quadruple room, ideal for 2 adults & 2 children. Recently renovated, spotlessly clean. great shower, lots of room but warm and cosy.
Cons: Breakfast was a cold buffet and limited in choices for the price being charged. Would have liked more or bigger pillows.
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Room was tiny , like staying in a closet with a bed. No room to walk around let alone put anything away. Had to keep luggage in car. Bed and pillows covered in dust. Staff was unfriendly and not helpful.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: For a one-night stay it was a great choice for us, a group of two travellers.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Clean and high-end feeling room. Professional staff
Cons: Location is not interesting as such but you know it when you book.
Good 7.0
Pros: Wi-fi. Parking. Bar in the hotel where we could enjoy watching Champions League final. Good pizza and beer:)
Cons: Due to Covid instead of breakfast we got voucher to the nearest coffee (American style). Stöð 2 Sport not available in the room, so for Champions League final we needed to go to the bar. Most expensive hotel we stayed during 11-day visit and trip around Iceland - not worth the money vs. others.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great host!! We have lost a pair of shoes and they have sent to us at the hotel in reykiavick
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The breakfast was excellent - there really is something for everybody! The room was quite big as well and the beds were very comfortable.
Cons: The staff at the reception was a bit rude and not really helpful when we asked for restaurant recommendations. But he could have just had a bad day of course!
Good 6.0
Pros: We mainly used the hotel for sleeping (2 night) and for that the room fitted OK and was cheaper than other options in the area
Cons: The conversion of boarding school accommodation to hotel do not always work out well. It means that you re-arrange the room and put in additional beds leaving shelves above bed and electric outlet under bed
Good 6.0
Pros: Very friendly staff and great breakfast with warm waffles. The rooms were ok, considering it’s a boarding school. For sure fun to try as it’s a very traditional place to try and part of Icelandic hotel history. However know it’s not modern place.
