Pros: The room was comfortable and there was TV and internet which is important for me. The food was delicious. The yard is beautiful. The atmosphere is relaxing and no one bothered me which I also appreciate.

Cons: Food is ordered well in advance for lunch and dinner and cooked from scratch - which can be a plus point cause it’s fresh or some might not appreciate the wait. I personally found it a very good value for money and I liked my stay.

Pros: Great place no problems at all. So much character. Staff were lovely and bed was super comfy. They had a fan to keep cool and the room we slept in upstairs was great, was a lovely experience and good value for money. They arranged a transfer so easily and we had no problems which was great as we didn't land until 2am. Thank you would highly recommend.

Pros: My family and I loved everything about the property. The design is unique and that’s what attracted me to book and stay there. Thatched units meant a lot to our Kids who have never had the experience of staying in such units. Lovely grounds, clean, comfortable and spacious rooms with not a single mosquito on site. Angela is an amazing host. The hospitality of the owners is beyond amazing. Santa you are a Star. Sorry I can’t remember the other staff names but they are all wonderful. KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT SERVICE. The breakfast was delicious, hot, plenty and on time. Thank you to the Chef and everyone else in the kitchen. I recommend everyone to stay here and have the experience we had with my family. Sorry we were a noisy bunch but I wouldn’t hesitate to Book and Stay here again for a quiet vacation Jayden, you became part of our family. Thank you for joining us. We missed you when we left.

Pros: I loved everything about the property. Angela and Derik are fantastic hosts. You can walk out the gate and see Lake Victoria. It’s a beautiful walk and beautiful views. Very safe and affordable place with amazing amenities.

Cons: Took ages to get someone to put an umbrella over our lounge chairs Their was immediate refusal from 2 staff saying that was the sun bathing area and we should sit next to noisy kids and strangers we didn't know yet their was an umbrella on the opposite side of where we were located at the pool completely unused I kept asking and nothing- so I had to find the expat manager and he sorted it out in a heartbeat with a smile on his face - well done Mr Expat Secondly when we arrived we checked in then went to the pool- the bar man at 1pm tried to serve me a warm beer - now a 5 star hotel like that must certainly know that trying to serve a british man a warm beet is an insult I asked the bar man why at this time and in this heat - you serve me a warm Heineken - his reply - I have just switched the fridge on - I run 6 counties in Africa and have been to plenty of 5 star hotels- I live in Uganda 7 years and this is time and time again everywhere but you expect a 5 star hotel to just be ready night and day to serve a customer- you know what locals want and you know what expats want etc - training or just laziness at the bar area - no one says sorry or offers an alternative

Pros: Room was very comfortable.

Cons: I didn't receive my free welcome drink at dinner as requested. Nor did I receive a quick breakfast (included in price) of coffee and toast before departing very early for the airport even though I was very clear about the time I would like it, they started making it after I asked where it was by which time it was too late.

Pros: Great breakfast, great staff, very relaxing, close to beach restaurant with good food, comfortable beds, good location, small pool with 6 beds in total, free airport transfer.

Cons: Would've loved a few more options, preferably vegetarian, in the restaurant. Otherwise great!

Pros: The complimentary drinks when we arrived after a long journey were a welcome surprise. The location on the shores of Lake Victoria was ideal. Lots of wildlife. The service and food were really excellent. Free airport transfers.

Cons: Unfortunately there was no hot water in the shower. We should just have contacted reception instead of making do. The staff were most apologetic when we mentioned it the next day.

Pros: The beach bar is amazing, staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was really nice.

Pros: While the guesthouse is clean and the receptionist extremely friendly, the location just great, directly on the lake, unfortunately there has been an issue, which will make me NEVER return. I took dinner at their restaurant at the lake, when suddenly we heard a small dog screaming with pain. One waiter had thrown a rock at the little dog. Several guests immediately confronted the waiter, who said that he has orders from the boss (who he said is from Iceland) to shoo away dogs from the beach if they come close to the restaurant. I asked to speak with the owner, gave my room number but he was not available. Because of this issue, I will definitely not return to this guesthouse.

Pros: The hotel has a lot going for it - a good location, nice grounds & standards which would appeal to westerners.

Cons: They state free pickup from the airport, but no one was there to meet us even though we phoned the hotel, so we took a taxi but the hotel refused to pay for it - I wouldn’t have expected that from a hotel of this standing. We booked a double room but when we got in at 11.30pm, it was only laid up as a single, one towel, one dressing gown, one glass one cup etc & despite phoning twice to reception to send these items it was after midnight when some - not all - arrived. Having been travelling for 18 hrs all we wanted was a cup of tea & to go to bed. We gave up waiting in the end. Poor service, very disappointing.

Pros: Location...right on the beach! Food and bar on the beach were nice. Staff was excellent and friendly. The room was very nice. Close to the airport. The driver for my ride was very nice! He showed me where the president lives and other things along the way to the airport.

Cons: Could have used a refrigerator in my room. I may have been the only guest there, and it’s a large hotel. The shops in the hotel were empty, which is an indication they were not doing so well financially. The fee for the ride to the airport seemed unnecessary considering how close it is, but I understand people need to get paid. There are cheaper hotels with free shuttles, but they were not on the beach.

Pros: The view of the lake early morning was perfect. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They changed my original room because it was dump within a minutes request. They organized transport to Kampala for a day trip. Awesome

Cons: The Hotel is beautiful right next to the lake however the very loud music ruined the ambience I was longing for quiet time for reflection and to distress. The volume should be lowered.

Cons: Picked this hotel for a transit stopover expecting to rest in the afternoon and leave around midnight for an early morning flight. Didn't go according to plan as loud music was blaring all afternoon and evening from the beach and from a function being held under a huge tent on the lawns of the hotel. Since the restful afternoon and evening had been ruined, went for dinner to the restaurant at around 8pm, ordered a soup and a main course, neither of which had been served an hour and a quarter later. A handful of diners, not more than 8, were present and the reason given was that the Chef was "very busy". Left the restaurant without eating and returned to my room after complaining to the night manager whose response was that he will report the incident to the GM. Upon checking out, the night clerk was unable to print a receipt for the payment made in the afternoon claiming that no payment had been made. All in all a most disappointing experience. Avoid staying here.

Pros: The workers were friendly and polite. Otherwise, very little else to like, really.

Cons: This hotel is deserted and seems to only rely on conferences for its existence. I finally found out why: despite its location (close to the lake, with promises of lake views, the view of the lake it obstructed; they play loud music, so if you're dreaming of afternoon naps, forget them! The restaurant only makes breakfast on order, as the hotel doesn't have enough people (there were only two of us, I think) to necessitate a buffet breakfast. The food is of average quality, and they sell cheap (poor quality) wine expensively. I like to meet new people to exchange travel experiences -- there were no people at this hotel, so I missed out on this!

Cons: The personell was rude and not service-minded, only focused on getting their administration done. They wanted to charge us extra for the room, and after long negotiations with the manager we got our original agreed price. Food is very expensive and not even a drink included.

Cons: The room was noisy even at night, the breakfast food was really poor. In addition the health club was really limited in term of equipment, So I preferred not to use it.

Pros: I loved the rooms at Imperial - very spacious, clean, excellent A/C, and the most comfortable bed of my entire month-long trip. The staff members I interacted with were professional and polite. The breakfast buffet was good and had plenty of hot breakfast, fruit, juice and pastry options.

Pros: Staff was super and rooms are large and very comfortable. King size bed was fantastic.

Cons: It’s a large hotel and there are a few things that need small repairs.

Pros: The room was big and comfortable and the shower was hot. The gardens were immaculately kept. The onsite restaurant provided tasty meals and a good breakfast.

Cons: Meals took a long time arriving but then that is common in Uganda. The staff were pleasan and helpful but a bit disengaged after the enthusiasm we have come to expect in Uganda.

Pros: Joshua and his staff are allways frendly and great! I come here regularly.

Cons: Improve on not using torn towels. bring freshly cut fruits for breakfast, not sich that had been standing around for a while. bring bigger cups and real coffee.

Pros: The staff was incredible. There were warm private showers, safe close location all at a great price! They were very accommodating. We also loved their food. The wifi was spotty at times but otherwise everything was awesome! We'd stay here again! Thanks James and Joshua!

Service was good Reception was manned after midnight and check in was pretty quick No lift but staff took my bags which I appreciated Rooms were spotlessly clean, hot water and plenty of good quality towels in bathroom. Bottled water and tea and coffee making facilities in the room Comfy bed.

Cons: We booked an airport transfer to pick us up at midnight. In the week before flying I checked the details of transfer and reservation and got email confirmation. But on arrival no car, I called and they sent one but we were hanging around for 20 to thirty mins which after midnight isn't what you want. At hotel no record of our booking, and we were asked to pay the driver when our confirmation stated the transfer was free. BUT they did sort it out quickly. Breakfast was average to poor. Pancakes were inedible. Omelette okay. No lift but staff will take your bags. Wi fi is free but I found it so slow to be unusable Is it worth $165 u.s per night. I don't think so but in Africa's inflated hotel economy it's pretty much what that rate gets you.

Pros: Very quiet location.. Staff were helpful and efficient. We only stayed overnight to catch a flight early morning so didn't get much chance to evaluate too much. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Shuttle service to Airport was excellent.
