3.1 Poor
Pros:Location
Cons:Parking is off-site and a bit inconvenient. We were given a queen double room with very dated, old and run-down furnishings. e.g. there was an two inch gap in the carpet exposing the floor boards. Only the very small bathroom has been renovated in the last 20 years. Food in the lounge was very poor- my wife ordered a quinoa item that should have been served hot but arrived cold. After notifying the waiter it was returned at almost the same lukewarm temperature. Food was very overpriced. We were not told about the water in our room upon arrival. The second day I obtained ice from the only available dispenser (in the clubhouse and was advised to not drink water in the room or use the ice. We were told at the front desk that the water "has been sent out to be tested" and results would be back in 3 days. We were given bottled water for the interim. We observed emergency septic maintenance at the same time, along with malodorous air at the lunch restaurant. Our last night there we were awakened at midnight to a fire alarm and left the room to the small of heavy smoke. The family downstairs had failed to open the flue in their fireplace. Since smoke rises we had noxious and persistent smoke in our room still an hour after we were allowed back in our room. When my wife called to get a fan to more quickly dispel the smoke she was told by the front desk to "open the windows" despite the fact we had already done that. They refused to provide us any further help in dealing with the smoke which by now had permeated all of our clothing, etc. After leaving the property we had very queazy stomachs for two days, coinciding with the delay in the water report. We were never notified about the results of the water testing.

10.0 Wonderful
Pros:The location is amazing. One of the best views in the Canadian Rockies. The rooms are nice, with good bedding. The rooms have fireplaces with great firewood. The dining options are great, too. Lots of trails for hiking and fireplaces if not. THE winter is great, too.
Cons:THERE was nothing that I did not like. I can't wait to return.

5.4 Fair
Pros:The facilities totally outdated a dozen customers had no electricity no water and no heat I had no heat temperature Room was 55 degrees C all the time. I talk to the staff a number of the times, they could not remedy the situation. I was there from Wednesday through Saturday. It was my daughter's wedding. I do not believe how they were rated number 10 hot spot for weddings.

8.6 Very good
Pros:The setting is beautiful and close to nature. The room had a nice porch and view.
A
4.6 Mediocre
Pros:Location on Emerald Lake
Cons:At check in the desk clerk identified me as the "Kayak Room" Our "lodge room" was actually in a small poorly maintained cabin where 3 other couples were staying as well in other rooms. There are no guest rooms in the Lodge. The beautiful view they described from our porch was of another cabins roof. The room we stayed in was described as "rustic". I would describe it as poorly maintained and greatly in need of updating. Everything was old and worn out. The room had no TV, no radio,no A/C, and a shower that did not work very well. The only wifi is in the lodge and the TV in the lodge did not work properly either. The owners know they have the only show in town and charge outrageous prices for everything. I ordered a hamburger for lunch which was $23.00. It was just OK. The staff seemed well trained and provided good service. The facility was pathetic and in desperate need of major renovation.
