10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The dinner was amazing. Best dining experience ever. What a surprise!
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was a wonderful, beautiful historic hotel. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the lawn enjoying complimentary tea and cake. The restaurants were wonderful - fine dining and the pub. The staff was exceptional - very cheerful and helpful.
Cons: Next time we will upgrade our room to look at river. :) Also the hot tub could use updating although it was nice to have a steam room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We rarely write reviews but have found something special in The Post. Andre is a local legend, an architect of the Canadian modern skiing syle, who brings warmth and grace to a superb Swiss-style small hotel offering everything: in-room fireplaces, pool/hottub/steam/full on-site spa, afternoon tea with pastry chef offerings, and one of the finest restaurants (a wine list that puts Chat. Lac Louise to shame) and casual pub on-site plus impeccable, friendly service from the moment of arrival at the front entrance. I slightly injured a knee skiing, and received a personal call from Andre inquiring if he could be of any assistance. Wow. This hotel is for those looking for a "small hotel" remote from the hustle of Banff (Lake Louise is intentionally a tiny community without a bar scene, etc.) operating at the highest levels of service. It is quite expensive, but actually delivers on the price tag, a rare sentiment for me. Lake Louise is an awesome HQ to explore the Canadian Rockies which are stunning. This was a ski trip, and we can't wait to get back for a hiking trip in the summer months. We travel fairly often, rarely to repeat locations, but have every intention of becoming regular guests at The Post assuming the continuing good fortune to do so.
Cons: Having to leave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous room with fireplace and 2 bathrooms!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb facilities, vey attentive staff.
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the looks/decor/landscape of the entire hotel. There are multiple areas to relax and explore and a choice of two restaurants to go to. The rooms and bathrooms are nice. The shower and bath are great. Lastly , I love the back porch.
Cons: I wish there were more TV channels but wasn’t bothered as I brought my own moxie watching.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambience. Our stay was a true Canadian Rockies experience, with the buildings all log cabin style, beautifully finished and oh so comfortable. A beautiful lounge area with soft lounges to enjoy the view from, plenty of outdoor furniture for relaxing on the lush lawn surrounded by colorful, beautifully manicured flower beds The dining room is simply magnificent, with attentive and friendly staff presenting a diverse menu to delight every taste. A truly memorable experience. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Our suite had a homely, relaxed feel, yet was impeccably maintained. The staff were friendly, helpful and chatty, without being intrusive. And to top it off, the spa with jacuzzi, steam room and massage (a must-have) was so totally relaxing.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike at Post Hotel and Spa. Some might query the proximity of the Canadian Pacific rail line, but we loved the diversity of the locos and freight cars gliding past with no noise to speak of.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great great staff and wonderful ambiance at hotel. We had a spectacular meal including fondue and a nice selection off their amazing wine list (really). Pool and hot tub were enjoyable
Cons: A bit pricey
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was beautifully decorated and had luxurious amenities. Staff was exceptional and location was close to lake Louise , moraine lake and the village
Cons: I highly recommend a room with a river view because if your room faces the parking lot you will encounter the very loud noise of a freight train passing through frequently sleepless in lake Louise!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the friendliness of the staff and the excellent facilities.
Cons: Nothing

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Within walking distance of Lake Louise which was brilliant as it was so busy the carpark was full by 7.30 am in the morning. Lovely quaint little bungalow/lodge within a quiet spot on the edge of a forest. It was all in one room with a separate bathroom. The fire automatically came on to warm up on cold mornings and through the night. It was very comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully kept grounds, a place for the little ones to play, perfectly located between the two lakes, the staff are very kind and knowledgeable.
Cons: Don’t have a thing. We had some noisy neighbors and they were immediately taken care of.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location was really good.
Cons: Our unit did not have a table and chairs which would have been good.
Fairmont Château Lake Louise - Lake Louise - Building

9.0 Excellent (16,255 reviews)
C$ 507+
Overview Reviews
Surrounded by soaring mountain peaks, the majestic Victoria Glacier & a glistening emerald lake, the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise hotel is located in Alberta's Banff National Park. Originally built as a base for outdoor enthusiasts & alpinists over 100 years ago, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is a year-round luxury mountain resort offering guided mountain tours, world-class skiing in the winter, scenic hiking and canoe activities in the summer, a luxury spa & exceptional dining experiences.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: you visit for the beauty of the area and the stunning hotel setting
5.0 Okay
Pros: We liked the room, but
Cons: It was supposed to be a Mountain View and it looked directly into the roof of a building; it was also next to the elevators. Lastly the food was overpriced and indifferent. For example, one if the rolls was wet on the bottom, my wife bit into it an it was bitter. I tried a small taste and it was bitter and metallic. Our waiter took the roll away and returned to say that the cook agreed that the rolls were a little too sour. Which was a nonsense response. THIS PARTICULAR ROLL had a problem in that it had been sitting in something wet which either started its decay or what it was sitting in was bad. We received no acknowledgment that there was a problem, no apology, no effort to fix the problem. Beyond that, the service was so so and the food was so so as well, with minuscule portions (particularly of appetizers). I expect better of what we're supposed to be the premier restaurants at the hotel, and costly ones at that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service was excellent and location right on Lake Louise is definitely its strongest feature.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The iconic property is perfectly situated in the most beautiful environment. Despite loads of bus tourists, this historic property still remains majestic. Several incredible trails start right on the property. The Plain of Six Glaciers trail is full of non-stop jaw dropping views. Boating is a must as you get close to the jade color Lake Louise. Yes, dinning at the lobby lounge is a must, not due to food, but the scenery. Nice touch to deliver complementary cheese board and a bottle of wine for our special occasion to our room.
Cons: 1. The food is little underwhelming, considering the brand of property. Perhaps there are too many tourists, and they try to cater to the mass appeal. 2. There are too many bus loads of tourists who swam in the property, making guests feel overwhelmed at time. Perhaps there could be more sections cut off just to guests. 3. We booked a luxury one-bedroom lake view suite for a special occasion. But were sent to a section off the historical main building, far away from the lake. They switched us to the main building the second night.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Very noisy room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff is awesome and very helpful. The view is amazing.
Cons: There could be more covered seating outside or an outdoor pool or hot tub to enjoy the view. The lake is amazing and it would be nice to have more lounging space to enjoy it away from the tourists. A storm rolled in across the lake and we wished there was a covered spot to be outside or inside by a window and enjoy the storm but there surprisingly isn't much.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Best location to enjoy Lake Louise
Cons: Need managed canoe trips which can be booked
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, fine friendly staff, super clean room with a view to die for, best restaurants anywhere- and I have been everywhere.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Impressive building
Cons: Highly priced
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff were great
Cons: Overly expensive for the facility Beautiful spot though
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great view, food and service
Cons: Non cancellable and need to book a year in advanced
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous view of the Lake. Ulike anywhere else you could stay in the area. View room was expensive, but I'm glad we did it.
Cons: Food choices could have been better. Coffee wasn't hot enough and the waiter said it was too far to go to the microwave to get it heated. Everyone was super helpful and provided everything else we needed.

Cons: The only bad thing about this place was that we had to leave! ;-)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean accommodations and all of the basics were available such as a refrigerator, microwave, satellite tv, and wi-fi. Everything that we needed to be comfortable and enjoy our stay was present.
Cons: Field is a very small town with only one or two restaurants and one general store. You must prepare well ahead of time to avoid going without essentials such as food or other basic needs. Luc, the owner, let us know about this ahead of time which was a huge help.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I felt at home
Cons: Clean, comfortable and good cooking facilities

Cons: There is not much available in town as far as food and gas.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic for exploring Yoho National Park. Great place to rest after an adventure and plan the next. The Visitor Center is within walking distance.

We had a large bathroom, the shower was excellent. The Inn is in the perfect location in Field close to the two restaurants there. We would recommend staying here!
Cons: Nothing not to like! A small hob in the kitchenette would have been perfect but it didn’t impact on our stay!

7.1 Good
Pros: cute cabins
Cons: From my cabin. Deluxe King #25 I could hear my neighbors and the road clearly. Not really what I was looking for having paid over $700 a night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic Breakfast
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The cabins are beautifully done, great fireplace, very comfortable bed. Phenomenal restaurant for dinner, and free breakfast is great. The fire pit by the river is a good addition and awesome for stargazing.
Cons: The cabins aren’t remote and are bunched-in near each other, so you could be in one by the car park or in one by the river - a fair disparity in good locations cabin-wise!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, beautiful cabins and great staff
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was a beautiful accommodation, with excellent staff that really made me feel special on my Birthday! Oh and the Trail Mix - AMAZING!! Thank you!!
5.8 Okay
Pros: The cabin was lovely.
Cons: We had thought that the property was by a lake, not so close to the main highway that we could always hear the noise. When eventually seated for supper it was a lovely meal but we were ignored until the staff were ready. A friendly “be with you in a minute “ would have made a lot of difference.
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely cottages close to Field & Yoho National Park. Very comfortable bed! Nice bathroom and cute fireplace. Nice breakfast included
Cons: A little pricey for what it is, especially compared to other properties around the area. Close to the main road turn off so didn’t feel as secluded as I thought it would be for the price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This cabin is beyond our expectation. We will definitely return. BTW, you must try the restaurant for dinner. The food is so delicious. One of our favorite during the trip.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. From the cabins looking like an adorable little village, to the surrounding mountains, to the remanence of the forming mining operation that once stood there, to the lovely super cold river running nearby, to how lovely the interior of the cabins and the main center were. Even being visited by the meandering bear was befitting of the area. Yes this place is super expensive but I deem the experience worthy of the price. The staff there were wonderful. Always super cheerful and polite. They seemed to truely enjoy being there, and not just working there. I'm going to be keeping this place in mind for future adventures.
Cons: The weather was a bummer. Cost of everything is super high - yet still worth it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hospitality - guided walk - open fires - sparkling wine and afternoon tea and coffee
Cons: Pay for luxury coffee at breakfast

Cons: The young staff where very inexperienced . The facilities were very limited and the rooms where hot and extremely noisy
4.6 Okay
Pros: The location was stunningly beautiful. Dinner in the lodge was very nice.
Cons: Shabby and poorly maintained. Such a shame that this property is not being cared for, while the rates are way too high for a room that was like a rundown motel. Our cabin (#20) was directly across from the service area for the main lodge that looked like the city dump.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a lovely location by the lake
2.0 Mediocre

Pros: Staffs are friendly and pro, room is sparklingly cleaned, we had a very nice stay here. It would be awesome If there is juice mixer provided

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location just off the highway and a short drive to Lake Louise itself. We had one of the recently renovated suites which was done to a high standard. The amenities were great too - onsite parking, two restaurants (we recommend the pizza!) and an onsite Starbucks. We didn't use the pool area but would have done if we had more time.
Cons: We stayed during a hot spell in early August - there was no a/c in our room which did affect our first night's sleep. The other two nights we slept with the patio door open but on the chain to benefit from a breeze.
7.1 Good
Pros: Pool , Breakfast , outdoor sittings
Cons: Very basic rooms
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: One member of the staff was awesome. He had great suggestions for sites to see and places to go. Other staff was professional but not welcoming.

6.3 Good
Pros: I loved the location. It was beautiful there! I appreciate the history and authenticity of the lodge. The staff was friendly.
Cons: While I appreciate the history and authenticity of the lodge, it needs an upgrade in the plumbing, the heating system (it’s way too hot), the walls were paper thin, etc. the lodge feel was fine; the furniture was fine, but it seems rundown. The staff was very helpful and friendly, but they were short handed. You could especially tell this in the dining room and there was no option other than to eat in the dining room because the cafe had little to no selection.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The hotel is located right at Bow Lake, and the Lake is beautiful. The first floor of the lodge is rustically appealing. The room we stayed in was clean.
Cons: The room had old beat up furniture in it. The bathroom had floor tiling that looked like plywood, with a thick band of caulking above it. The small metal shower was a disappointment, as was the lack of anywhere to put toiletries. The noise rules were not enforced, and we could hear a family above us talking and walking. Worst hotel I ever stayed at, and it was more expensive than the others we stayed at on our trip.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location between the Icefields and Lake Louise. On a lovely lake. Great dinner
Cons: Dated and dark room. Poor breakfast
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is fantastic! The lake is very beautiful though not very popular and thus there is no crowd of people in hot season. Nice long walk along the lake with some wild life around. The dinner and the service at the restaurant was great.
Cons: Breakfast is possible to upgrade to hot meal, but there is no variety at all: eggs and fried fat sausages. Bathroom is very old and looks untidy. But the location compensates.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This lodge has the best location in the entire canadian rockies, better than Chateau Lake Louise! The view is spectacular and it is a small lodge, so once the day visitors leave it is wonderful.
Cons: a second floor room for my dad in stead of the third floor. I did not see a way to request this on the booking request.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Far from city
2.9 Mediocre
Cons: Very poor facility
6.3 Good
Pros: Scenery
Cons: 2 pieces of undercooked chicken for 40$ Gift shop kicked us out shortly after we arrived closing too early Restaurant kicked us out for being too early Waiter didnt know how to serve properly
7.5 Good
Pros: Having Bow Lake on our doorstep, the Lodge itself and the restaurant.
Cons: Having paid 600 Canadian dollars for the room was it really necessary to pay an extra $10 to have a hot breakfast? The satellite internet was not reliable, but we were told about that when we checked in to the Lodge.
5.8 Okay
Pros: To be honest, just the location, the lake view and the friendly staff. Just stay at it if you are sure the weather is sunny and nice, because otherwise it’s a waste of money.
Cons: You can hear everything through the walls, the water tap in the mini cubical bathroom was leaking and the power poles are very old once and don’t fit into the adapters. The reception lady helped me out with a cable. Within the room there is no fridge and some mosquito nets where standing at the wall. The food was less then average and the price not worse it.

Pros: Walking distance to main attraction and great scenery!
Cons: No elevators and no emenities in room!it
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We were allowed to keep our car in the parking lot after we checked out so we could take the shuttle to the lake.
Cons: The room was so small there wasn't even room for a chair. It was the smallest room we've stayed in for many, many years.
6.3 Good
Pros: Excellent location
Cons: Very dated and tired facilities
6.7 Good
Pros: Conveniently located. Just 5 mins walk to lake louise, a good choice to take if you plan to visit lake louise at different times of the day for its beautiful view during sunset, sunrise and at midnight.
Cons: Super noisy! You can hear every one else walking and talking in your room, even with windows closed. Glad to learn that there is some renovations upcoming. Please make the room sound-proof after renovation. Do not expect you can sleep well at early nights. Overpriced for failing to sound-proof. Hostel please impose quiet hours policies to make it better!
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location and Parking. Literally all you are paying for here.
Cons: Even if this place was $100 less per night I would not stay there again. It’s extremely run down, rooms remind me of a orphanage to homeless kids. No TV or Fridge in rooms. Rooms walls are paper thin, the charm is the place is old and ready to combust. The beds are stupid small, I had to argue to get a stretcher bed so I could sleep in the room comfortably with my partner and I’m not a large person. I had to laugh whilst I was in my stretcher bed with collapsed springs why the hell I paid $300 CAD per night! To stay here. I should have read the TripAdvisor reviews. Because quite frankly booking.com paints this scham hotel in a far nicer light. Do your self a favour and stay anywhere else for a little more money or travel from Banff or any where else around the local area, staying on the lake is a rip off.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Great location to visit Lake Louise. Within walking distance. Complimentary tea and coffee at 7am
Cons: The bedroom was dark, dreary and outdated Very expensive but , presumably, premium rated due to location
3.4 Mediocre
Pros: Can't much think of anything.
Cons: Indifferent staff, cramped beyond imagination room, overpriced.
5.4 Okay
Pros: No value for money, the price should be cheap
Cons: No value for money, the price should be cheap
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location. We could walk to Lake Louise where parking was limited. Other than that our room was drab, shabby, tiny with a window that didn't close letting in the cold night air.
Cons: Grossly overpriced. No TV, no fridge, no elevator. Dingy wallpaper that appeared to have been hung in the 1930s, a beat up chest of drawers, no chair, separate hot and cold faucets necessitating a scald warning. (Yes, there was hot water), thin walls.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The distance to the lake and trails. Oh and the Bison burgers are a must!
Cons: Bed and door frames a little too short for someone 6' 5"
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the closeness to lake Louise. Very old lodge but kept clean and friendly staff.
Cons: Bedrooms are pitiful, old and extremely basic. You expect more for the price you pay.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location was really close to Lake Louis
Cons: Poor WiFi, very outdated, way overpriced for the room we got.

Pros: The view with the lake and the mountains just in front of. Nice terrace. Good position to visit the area of Lake O'Hara and other interesting points of Yoho Park like Emerald Lake and Takkkaw Falls. Restaurant and bar to have dinner or drink something.
Cons: The breakfast started at 7, it would be good to have an earlier option since we start the hikings very early in the morning and we missed it.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location and view
Cons: Noise in building floor and room was not adequately lighted
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was right in the middle of most spots. There is a proper place to eat on site. Complimentary coffee and tea all the time. Breakfast was quite good.
Cons: Wi-Fi is very spotty due to satellite-only access. Keep in mind there is no mobile connection in the area. Cleanliness could be improved, especially in the bathroom. Breakfast only starts at 7, whereas we left to hike prior to that on most days.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food is great......keep the chef. Free coffee and tea all the time. Friendly staff. Clean rooms.
Cons: Couldn't turn off the heat so we had to open the sliding door. Very noisy traffic. Suggestion. add a bit of protein for diabetics......maybe hard boiled eggs.
7.9 Good
Pros: The complimentary breakfast was excellent. Lots of choices
Cons: The wifi could do with some improvement
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good with a lot of choices.
Cons: Restaurant was closed the second night we were there with no warning or explanation. This was quite inconvenient since we were quite a ways from town and didn’t want to get on the bike and go back for food.
6.7 Good
Cons: Overpriced because of location, absolutely no frills, side of highway accommodations. Outdated bathrooms....really everything
