Location, politeness of the staff
A bit old, on noisy street
It's located very conveniently to all of the old historical buildings which is a plus.
When I first entered the room, I was nearly knocked off of my feet by what I took to be the stench of dirty feet. Then I began to think that it might be the comforting smell of absolute sanitation, that of bleach. But bleach smells awful. And the presence of that overwhelming smell being limited to that room suggests that something terrible happened there to necessitate extreme janitorial measures. One of the other guests in the room left the balcony door open for the exchange of fresh air. This seemed only to admit mosquitoes which feasted on my face and arms. Guests are asked to wear paper bracelets like the kind you wear to show that you paid for the pub crawl or the go-kart ride or whatever. You have to show the bracelet to the camera at the main entrance so that the staff know they can safely unlock the door for you. This is, I suppose, a good safety measure. But the bracelets are also pretty annoying to wear.
-Great location -Helpful staff -Value for money additional activities offered (We got a tour to tequila for just 450 MXN through the hostel)
-There were only 2 showers per gender for the entire hostel and there was a small electric current running through the shower taps which was extremely unpleasant when turning the water on and off. -It was a MOSQUITO attraction. We got eaten alive by mosquitoes in the room. They provide free mosquito repellent but some guests kept hiding them. -Fyi, lockers are provided but locks are not, so bring your own!
The difference between the prince online and the price in place. The breakfast is a joke, helpful but for the price is beter go outsideto eat something
It’s everything they advertise! Fun hostel, pretty public spaces, free breakfast, and fun events. Definitely come on Saturday for tequila night, that was fun. It’s only blocks from the big cathedral and a huge fun market.
Really nothing, it was great. I got a top bunk, which was a little less convenient than bottom bunks.
