Bring ear plugs
Stayed at the Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa for a couple of nights. The staff were attentive and friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable. Within walking distance of the town, and a very beautiful walk along the edge of the loch too. Breakfast choice was very good and well prepared. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed.
We had been delayed on our arrival, checking in was no problem, although there was no staff behind the desk we didn’t have to wait long. Dumped our bags and headed downstairs to the bar to find something to eat (20:55). Unfortunately there was also no staff behind the bar. Plenty rushing around the restaurant, but none willing to get behind the bar. By the time we were served (21:15) the barman advised us the kitchen was closed...at 21:00! So no food, unless we went back upstairs and ordered room service?! We decided not to bother. Anyway, off to bed after a couple of drinks, the room next to ours appeared to have several dozen drawers. (I counted 5 in ours), and the two guests obviously had to open and close all of them several times before going to bed and at 6:30 when they got up!! We could quite easily have joined in their conversation with them too. The walls appear to be made of cardboard, so if you cherish sleep bring ear plugs. Breakfast was great, again there seemed to only be one member of staff doing everything. Saying that, the staff were all lovely and very friendly, there’s just not enough of them!!
