Pros: Complimentary bonuses like port in the room and fresh muffins each day.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Amazing breakfast
Excellent 10.0
Pros: very prefect garden, nautral foods and kindly owner
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hosts have really gone out of their way to make this location a superb place to stay. The room was fabulous, so many thoughtful touches and facilities. The breakfast was the best I think I've ever had anywhere. The hosts were very helpful and friendly and we really hope to stay again on a future trip to Tasmania. Longford was a great location to see many interesting historical and natural places in that part of the island. This Inn is a real gem.
Cons: Everything was perfect!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very nice accommodation, greats hosts who served a lovely breakfast. Highly recommend
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location was ideal for me as i was attending a course nearby in Longford. The breakfast were divine! Stewed fruit from the garden, cooked breakfast with every condiment you could desire. Service was perfect too! Highlight was returning after a long day to freshly baked cakes each evening.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely accommodation and beautiful breakfast. Our hosts went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. We had home baked muffins delivered to our door on arrival and the next day we had home baked chocolate and raspberry slice baked by our host .
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The Racecourse Inn was spectacular!!! There were 6 of us in our group staying there (in 3 rooms) and everyone was blown away at how large the rooms were!!! And the attention to detail such as including homemade muffins & biscuits upon arrival was so sweet. The rooms were far superior to any hotel we have stayed in. The staff were delightful and went above and beyond to assist us. The breakfast was also pretty AMAZING!!! Thanks so much!

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location and animals were awesome... the resident pig and goat walking past the verandah were a bonus..
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This is a real Country property with country feel
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Everything about it was gorgeous. We absolutely adored staying there. The history was very interesting as well. For an early settler experience I highly recommend it.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The setting was amazing, it was a 1841 gardeners cottage. It had all amenities but was set up as a heritage accommodation site. The breakfast was well set out and quite large. The heritage garden at the main house was well worth a walk around.
Cons: We did not see any staff for the entire stay. Our friends were also staying there; they found their cottage and a map there showed us the way to ours. The homestead has staff there Tuesday to Sunday, but our stay was a Monday. We were really unsure how to access the accommodation.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Excellent experience staying on the world heritage site. The gardeners cottage is quaint and very private. It has a great outlook over gorgeous hills. Had some cute wallabies in our garden one morning and some frogs living in a little pond outside. The provided breakfast of fresh bread, eggs, peaches, milk, juice, butter, jams etc were excellent. Feeding the animals was also a great experience. We walked down to the jetty and had a lovely picnic one afternoon too.
Cons: No wifi and poor connectivity in the gardeners cottage- which is actually quite nice but may inconvenience some.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Authentic step back in history
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was fantastic. The property has charm, a truly special place to stay and that is before you get to the breakfast which is spectacular, starting with eggs, cereals, jam, bottled fruit, orange juice... the list goes on. And the cottages are well equipped and comfortable. I was only sorry it wasn’t cold enough for a fire. And wandering around the historic property was just exquisitely peaceful.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: I stayed in the beautifully restored "Gardner's cottage" on this historic colonial farm. The colours at sunrise and the atmosphere were amazing. Everything you need including breakfast is in the cosy cottage. Louise is a great host and also gave me a tour of the grounds. How lucky we are to have this property preserved and cared for by the original family. The stay was a highlight of my visit to Tasmania.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: A traditional cottage brings us back to history! We spotted wallaby at night.

Cons: nothing just wish james well if it his hotel

The rooms are huge as is the bathroom which has a large bath as well as a shower. Top brand toiletries including makeup removal pads. The views over the city are stunning. If you are planning on staying in Launceston, don’t go past this wonderful property. We are definitely going back again. The guys who own this property are so friendly and helpful.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: We had a huge room with comfortable fittings and it was quiet. There were tea and coffee facilities, a mini bar and a small kitchen with all necessary items.
Cons: The only slight grizzle - a lovely big bathroom with a fiddly little shower cubicle when there was room to put in a much larger one.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Was very central to shopping area. And to great restaurants.
Cons: Nil
Good 6.0
Pros: Great staff and excellent location.
Cons: The room next door had a gym junkie. Bashing his weights around and throwing his medicine ball at the wall to thrash Music was disgusting.
Okay 4.0
Pros: Got a bill for $1.00 taken out of my credit card ??
Cons: No information book of hotel's amenities, where to eat locally, or for that matter no bible either. Felt like I was shut off from the rest of the world. If I wanted to know anything I had to ask at the the front desk. Not the way I like. Parking was a nightmare even thought I realise was free of charge.

Good 7.0
Pros: The location is superb, check-in and -out are easy and quick, the pub downstairs is also fun to hangout with the other folks.
Cons: There is no wardrobe to put/hang your clothes in/on. A hairdryer would be useful to have in the toilet.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Didn't know they had breakfast, but location was great.
Cons: Having an ensuite and tea-coffee facilities in the room would have been handy.
Good 7.5
Pros: Great location
Cons: A little bit old and little run down
Okay 4.0
Pros: The room needed a jug and coffee tea facilities and a bench to put your bag on up off the floor
Cons: What I said above

Poor 1.0
Cons: That was the problem. We were told that breakfast on Sunday 1st March was at 7.30am. We woke to find that message had been slid under our door while we were asleep saying breakfast was cancelled. Room Service could be ordered - the night before.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Had to climb over the bed to get in as one side against the wall not good for people in there later years
Cons: Lack of information about the hotel services
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location and very friendly staff, close to restaurants in CBD. Really comfortable beds, would definitely stay here again.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Great Bed, Great Location, easy access to beautiful parks and city area.
Cons: Noisy exhaust fan in bathroom but I guess they know about it
Good 7.0
Pros: great to have a restaurant next door, excellent location for walking to town
Cons: only one comfortable chair in the room, other person has to sit on dining chair. Room is quite small. Noise from other units
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Most memorable was the lady on reception, Kristina, when I asked to be moved to a quieter room away from the carpark. Kristina was very helpful, and obliging, always with a lovely big smile on her face. The room I was subsequently given was much quieter and spacious.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Just beautiful. Our favourite B and B on our Tasmanian travels. Gorgeous, well kept buildings and gardens. Wonderful Red Feather Room with comfortable bed, lovely furnishings and loved the bath and bath robes. Delicious breakfast served by the lovely Tracey too. Lovely to come down to the dining room to a beautifully set table. A simple yet very well catered breakfast, which suited everyone’s needs with the variety of muesli and yoghurts and beautiful fresh fruits and hot croissants. Just perfect, thank you Tracey.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything. Stunning property, very luxurious.
Cons: Only thing would be provide some fresh milk in the bar fridge for tea.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Dinner was amazing as always! The living area... camparing two years ago when we stayed here first time, lots of little things changed, not premium anymore, but still ok...
Excellent 9.6
Cons: Owners were not contactable in the hours before arriving. Did not return messages left
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautifully decorated with huge style and attention to detail!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Fabulous bath, comfy bed and a beautiful included breakfast served by the friendliest ladies in Tassie, loved it! The gardens are fabulous as well.
Cons: Couldn’t fault it
Excellent 10.0
Pros: What a fantastic experience. This quintessential French provincial cottage is something that must be experienced. All amenities are provided and make it a very cosy stay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Such a beautiful garden setting. Had a Provençal feel. Staff were wonderful. Everything was perfect. We only booked here because we could not get into anywhere else. We were totally thrilled! Thank you
Cons: There was nothing not to like.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The inn is located in a residential neighborhood but is fairly close to many sights and things to do around Launceston. Very cozy room with a queen bed, gas fireplace, and an updated bathroom with a large tub and separate shower. The restaurant was not open the day we were there. Although not advertised, we were surprised to be served a very nice continental breakfast. Recommended for couples. Property has a nice size tent on the grounds for receptions such as for a wedding.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Centrally located, within 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Supermarket close by. Lovely traditional building. Very spacious common areas. Spacious room and comfortable bed. I stayed at Launceston Backpackers at the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, and the management made sure the rooms were not crowded - thank you so much for that!
Cons: No staff member was at the hostel upon my arrival at 1 pm, despite having previously agreed that someone would be there to let me store my luggage.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Room is very big! Outdoor washing line is great! Clothes get dry easily! James is the best! He is kind, friendly and helpful! I do appreciate it.
Cons: Reception close between 11am to 3pm
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good location, helpful staff
Okay 5.0
Pros: Rooms and kitchen are big
Cons: In my 2 nights there i witnessed 2 thefts of food from the fridge, the door is always open so everyone from the street is free to enter. I understood from the reception there's a guy coming in and stealing food, yet they still keep the door open (and there are still thefts). The mattress is horrible and sinks in the middle.
Good 7.0
Pros: Good location, free parking and the hostel is quiet and clean.
Cons: No sheets included and the food can be stolen in the kitchen. We stayed only 2 nights and our bag was stolen in the fridge.
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: Big living room area, on site parking, great location
Cons: Many details were bad, for example way too few bathrooms for number of guests (only one on our floor), extremely short reception hours, gate shut until 8am making it impossible to leave the parking spot early, etc. But the worst was the behaviour of who I suspect is the manager. After a very long drive we parked into the on-site lot, not noticing the sign saying it'd be closed until 8am since we were just keen to finally get some rest and we didn't anticipate such a ludicrous policy could exist with no early morning reception to resolve (our fault for gaving semi-decent expectations I guess). After seeing we'd only got 1 key for the 4 of us we called the manager to ask for another since the reception was already shut, and despite it taking many calls to reach him, this already irked him (rather than him apologizing for the delay), despite it being their fault for giving a single key and having very short reception hours. Fine. Then after having noticed the parking lot issue (as 3 of us needed to leave early) we had to call again: this time it took him even longer and when he finally did respond he threw a childish temper tantrum because we'd called around 10pm (so not even that late). Then he threatened to kick us out if we dared call him again for asking him to do what is supposed to be his job. Just pathetic behaviour especially considering his feeble attempt at a tough guy act throughout the process. The next day he offered a half-hearted apology which is appreciated (and the reason I didn't put 1/10), but fact remains that this sort of conduct is appalling especially considering our needs were due to *their* terrible policies and ineptitude. Steer well clear if you're looking for a positive hostel atmosphere.

Pros: The decor and National Trust classification on this property ensures that you have a direct link with the past.
Cons: Can think of nothing!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Comfy mattress and pillows. Quiet.
Good 6.3
Pros: Sat on top of the hill with great views of Launceston, quaint early 20th century town house converted to house tourists by local Chinese.
Cons: Saw owner to collect keys and that was it, never saw owner to say goodbye or at breakfast. Need a car or be be prepared for a long and steep walk to cataract gorge and harbour

Cons: No door between rooms. Very hot rooms Parking was difficult when lots of cars. Location was too far away from cbd.
Good 7.9
Pros: The location is excellent and staff friendly
Cons: The bed was uncomfortable and the room very hot - no air conditioning
Good 6.0
Pros: Location was good for the Tamar river and Gorge and close to supermarket and restaurants.
Cons: Originally booked for a twin share for two but was alone, would have been a bit small for two. Very clean but rooms/bathrooms a bit worn. not sure there was a smoke detector in room 2, detector appeared missing from bracket. A white strip on the edge of the half step at the room 2 door would be useful to prevent tripping
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Staff were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. The Motel was within easy walking distance of cbd.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Lovely quirky little motel with lots of character. The room was small but very clean and the beds were comfortable. Extremely convenient location and some great amenities - the private parking and outdoor dining area were excellent. Cheerful, helpful staff who gave us lots of information about the area.
Cons: The window treatment in my room was a very light fabric, almost like a bedsheet - heavier light-blocking curtains would have improved my sleep.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very helpful staff. Comfy beds. Convenient location. Secure parking on-site.
Good 7.0
Pros: Enjoyed the slightly quirky atmosphere of this motel. Good location, close to city and Cataract Gorge. Secure off street parking and nice shared deck area for drinks etc.
Cons: A bit of a street noise overnight was annoying.
Excellent 10.0
Cons: Lovely little place to stay. Close to heaps of shops cafes and restaurants.
Okay 5.8
Pros: Location was terrific. Secure parking. Friendly staff.
Cons: There was a sheet, yes a sheet, at the window plus the Motel’s sign was lit throughout the night outside the window therefore far too much light. Noisy street impacted as well. No air conditioning. Hot room. Noisy plumbing from adjacent rooms.
