It was clean & tidy with a comfortable bed & only a short walk to the Cathedral & main attractions.
As I didn’t arrive until 6pm I wasn’t aware that an email had been sent that afternoon with codes to enter the building as I try to only use wifi when travelling. As I couldn’t reach anyone via the intercom luckily I had internet so rang the number & the lady was very helpful & after entering 3 separate codes for 3 different areas was able to access my room. I wasn’t aware that there is no one there after 4 I believe it is & this caused quite a bit of stress for me. I’m not sure what I would have done if I didn’t have access to the internet to make a call.
I liked very much the cheap price, the location (very close to the main monuments), the easy check-in even late in the evening/in the night (by code numbers), the possibility of preparing meals in a common kitchen.
Some piece of furniture should be repaired or even changed (my room had a bit old and sad furniture, but I must recognize that I paid a very low price for my staying); the washing machine should be repaired, too.
The breakfast was somewhere about half a mile away. Obviously I didn't go there. I found, with no help from the staff, a satisfactory place nearby.
It would have been useful if the name of the establishment was displayed at the street entrance. The address given online was correct but when you looked at the buzzers by the door, all you can see is 'pension' ( a reasonable description: this place is not a hotel). It turned out, once inside, that the pension was in fact the Alda Centro. Reception (non-English speaking) closed at 4 p.m. If I had arrived about an hour later, I wouldn't have been able to get into the place at all (no mention of this online, of course). The taxi took me to the wrong Alda, not very surprisingly. It is disgraceful and dishonest to advertise this place as if it were a genuine hotel.
Lovely clean and comfortable bed, able to have our windows open for fresh air.
Noise was a bit of a problem, I could hear the person snoring in the room next to us. The wifi didn’t work however we were advised of this fact on checkin so it was hardly a surprise.
What an amazing place to stay for a few nights! The apartment is fantastic, cosy, comfortable and our hosts Francisco and Joanna were very friendly and welcoming. They had prepared a leaflet with suggestions of things to do and visit in town. The apartment is located near a metro station on the yellow line which crosses the city over the bridge and the river. Very handy to go out and watch the sunset! Plenty of space in the bedroom and bathroom. The linen provided was top quality and felt incredibly lush.
With a stay at Alda Centro León in Leon (Leon City Centre), you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Convento de San Marcos and Leon Museum. Featured amenities include an elevator (lift), microwave in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area.
