Had a lovely night, couldn't of been better, very clean, room was nice & roomy, had a great view of the sea from our room. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice, staff were friendly. Would stay here again, longer next time :)
Could of done with a welcome pack in our room, eg times etc
very nice breakfast. very busy but buffet was efficient and well stocked. porridge was great.
Good location. Nothing else positive
The rooms are extremely basic. Showers in one of our two rooms did not work. Toilet was soiled in another. Staff member on checkin was rude and unhelpful when we raised these issues and said the were fully booked. We were informed on checkout that rooms had been available and we could have been moved to a different room. We were also locked into the hotel at 11:30pm with no way of getting out. No signs were left nor was the front desk or any off the hotel manned at this hour. Staff were rude and unhelpful at breakfast. Eg. Twice we asked for glasses of water and were told to get this ourselves from the buffet area where there was no water! Awful hotel and service. Do not stay here!
The lunch menu was nice, better executed than the breakfast
There was a very strong smell of mold and damp in the corridors, you could tell it had been painted over to try and hide it
Beautiful old Victorian building set on the cliff top at Lynton, only a five minute walk to the famous water powered cliff lift.. Fabulous ‘Art Deco’ paired walls and ceiling in the Lounge/Ballroom area, where there was live entertainment in the evening - lovely quiet garden to stroll and sit in and the buffet breakfast was superb... - the staff were all so very kind and helpful, I am hearing impaired, but they all took the time to speak to me slowly and clearly, nothing was too much trouble... - will certainly return...
Nothing. was all good..
