Pros: Wow! Literally THE perfect bed and breakfast stay we've ever had! It's not very often you can say the best part of your stay was the hosts, Pam & Dennis, but they were amazing! Incredibly welcoming, had homemade cookies waiting for us in the room when we arrived, the room itself was perfect, has everything you need, lovely clean bathroom, comfortable bed and cable TV and the most stunning views of Garden Bay. Also when we first arrived Pam & Dennis' recommendations for restaurants, local things to do and hikes were perfect, we managed go on a quick hike on our first night and caught an amazing sunset, then their next recommendation was also a stunning walk which blew us away, also they arranged a little surprise for me when we got back from a day out for my birthday, which was so sooo lovely! Then there's the hot tub which was a brilliant way to spend the evening looking over the bay, also the breakfasts Pam & Dennis made us each morning was everything you would need to start a day on the Sunshine Coast, really varied and balanced and not your standard fry ups, you actually come away feeling really good afterwards, we looked forward to them every morning! But mainly you'll just enjoy sitting up in the kitchen, eating those amazing breakfasts and hanging out with Pam and Dennis, honestly I can't recommend staying here enough, thanks guys, good luck with everything in the future!!!
Cons: Not a single criticism! Perfect! Above and beyond!!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Danielle who works there was SO friendly and helpful! She has a cute dog and the house is INCREDIBLE! The hot tub is lush!!! The views are lovely and it was winter - The summer would be insane!!!! The room is huge and such a comfy bed! Danielle even drove us to the local pub and back so we could have a drink on Saturday night - such lovely service!!
Cons: The ceiling is pretty ugly that’s the only bad point really!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great hospitality and amazing breakfast! The best place I haven't been on the sunshine coast.
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room and surroundings had the atmosphere that we wanted for a short mother/ daughter get away!
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Pam & Dennis are the most enjoyable couple of hosts we have ever had the pleasure meeting. They are truly interested in making your visit to the sunshine coast a memorable one and surpassed our expectations by a long shot. Their breakfast are worthy of the quality and selection you will find at some of the best resorts. We will recommend them to anyone who asks. Thank you both! M & M

Pros: This review is perhaps amongst the most positive that I have ever written and wholly well deserved. My boyfriend and I booked to stay at Above The Inlet after reading such great reviews by other travellers and it is safe to say that we were not disappointed! We had read a lot about the hosts, Patricia and Peter, before our arrival and they did not fail to uphold their impressive online reputation in person. We have stayed with a lot of people over the years but have never met a more welcoming, kind and warm couple. It is worth staying at the B&B purely for the experience of meeting them! We also cannot find fault with our stay. Our room was spotlessly clean and well equipped. We slept very well due to the comfortable bed, blackout curtains and quiet of the area at night. The accommodation is also great value for money and well located, close to the inlet and within easy reach of many of the Sunshine Coast’s attractions. Do not miss this amazing accommodation offer when visiting the area; we cannot recommend it enough and will be very happy to return here again one day.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very hospitable and pleasant place to stay. After exploring some of the lovely Sunshine Coast, and doing the Skookumchuk Narrows hike, it was great to come back to such a quiet and cosy spot for a good night sleep. The place was very clean, and the bed was super comfy! Patricia was very hospitable AND HER WARM AND FRIENDLY WELCOME WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Cons: Smallness of bathroom.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Wonderful view from every corner of the house. Quiet location in a nice neighborhood that is not too far from downtown Sechelt and the ocean. Excellent central location for day trips. Wonderful and stylish self-contained apartment; comfortable bed. Stayed in the Cozy Suite which was truly cozy. For stays longer than 4 or 5 days it is recommendable to stay in one of the other suites which are quite a bit larger. Wonderful hosts who are very welcoming, considered, sociable but without being intrusive. Loved the outside patio to relax and soak up the sunshine, as well as utilize the BBQ. We will stay again!
Cons: Only one appliance at a time can be used in the Cozy Suite kitchenette. Made it a bit challenging to coordinate cooking or even to make coffee and warm up milk at the same time.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Lovely location, great views, lovely, large and comfy bed. Family run and friendly! Had a baby with us and they gave us what we needed for her. Highly recommend. You will need a car as its a drive from town centre and most beaches/treks but you can walk to a lovely restaurant and pub by the harbour. We even saw some raccoons outside!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: the bed was comfy, the view front the penthouse was breath taking very quiet and private
Cons: nothing it was perfect for what we wanted
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had the cozy suite for a 2 night stay. King size bed was extremely comfortable. Patricia and Peter are excellent host. Sechelt is central location on Sunshine Coast that allows you to travel anywhere along the coast in 1/2 hour. Well certainly be coming back this way in the future. Highly recommended!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We stayed in The Cozy Suite - it had everything you needed and was well designed. Lovely spot overlooking the inlet. Friendly hosts.

Pros: The resort was beautiful, especially if you are looking for a remote getaway on the sunshine coast. It was easy to find, and very relaxing to be in a place that was really peaceful. It was great having a full kitchen because there aren't really any restaurants around so cooking is a big part of your stay (which we love to do so it was great).
Cons: When you are paying $500 a night, I think I expected certain things to be a bit more updated or higher quality. When you go to most lovely resorts nowadays, they think of the little details that make your stay better. For example, when we asked for clean towels on our 3rd day, the cleaning people came and dropped off the towels but didn't remove any of the dirty ones so we had a large pile of wet towels on our bathroom floor for the remainder of our trip (and they didn't make the bed or do any other cleaning), the products in the bathroom were standard, whereas lots of places upgrade to really nice products, the salt and pepper came in those mini packets instead of having a proper shaker or grinder etc and finally, nowadays it is standard that bedding is white so that you can see it is clean and fresh. The bedding in our suite was dark brown which just always makes me question how clean it is (brown hides a multitude of sins). This would be considered more normal at a place where you aren't paying top dollar to stay but I expected more of those little details to be considered when you are paying $500 a night.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The villa itself was very beautiful. Be aware of noise levels though only because in the villas there are people above or below you depending on which villa you are in!
Cons: We had complaints about noise very early in the night which was a little frustrating as it was a holiday and only around 8 o’clock. I would say it is more for relaxing then for fun
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Just being able to relax and not worrying about going any where!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very friendly service, clean and comfortable villa with beautiful tranquil view.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very comfortable, nice facilities for a relaxing getaway. Spa services and restaurant were lovely too.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location, great view !
Good 7.1
Pros: The kitchen was well equipped and we had a very nice weeks stay. Kids loved the pool. It was super nice having the spa and massage onsite.
Cons: That the restaurant didn’t accommodate making food for us to bring back to our villa , as they were too busy at that time in the restaurant. Would have been nice to have a cafe or somewhere we could take the kids onsite for a family meal - if that’s ever on the cards

Pros: Great little spot to stay highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful little spot to stay . Cabin was super clean and New. Great value
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The cabin was beautiful and stocked with everything needed (lots of towels, soap, all the dishes and pots/pans, coffee and tea. The view was lovely. The location was perfect; secluded enough that it felt like a real get a way but close enough to a small general store and hike and activities should you want anything.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Fantastic location, loved the view from the hot tub and walking around the marina. Separate enough from the RV area of the resort to feel private. A short drive from Madeira town, but no issues with that.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Loved being right on the oceanfront with a great view from the hot tub! Perfect weekend getaway. The cottage was charmingly rustic, but everything worked and was clean. Check in was super easy and convenient as well.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Waking up to wildlife swimming right outside of the balcony was awesome.
Good 7.0
Pros: Peaceful, pretty views over a sleepy harbour. Seems it would be a lively, fun place to visit in summer with good amenities like BBQs, pool etc on offer.
Cons: Fairly far from shops, restaurants etc - stop at the IGA in Madeira to get essentials on the way. First hotel/resort we've ever stayed at that didn't have shampoo in the room - seems a bare minimum to expect of any hospitality offering, especially when considering the price. Also found it odd, at that price, to be told to wash our own dishes. Cabins overlooking the water are better than other options (yurts, motel rooms) as they're more spacious, newer and further from trailer park noise.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The place i stayed at was a two queen bed motel room, with a fully equipped kitchen. there's two fridges available, with a private bathroom attached to it. Over at the balcony, you get a good view of the Garden Bay lake and its surroundings. It's a relaxing break from the hustle of the city. At night, it's dark enough to gaze up at the stars.

Excellent 9.6
Pros: I liked how the hotel was exactly as it's described. Lots of things to do like hot tub/sauna/kayak/canoeing/game room/small theater room/hiking/walking along the beach. The room we stayed at was Casablanca it's very clean and beautiful with a nice vintage feel to it. The bathroom was big and clean with a clawfoot bathtub you can soak in. I definitely recommend staying in this place if you want a quiet and secluded place with beautiful view of the inlet. We even saw seals and deers around here.
Cons: There's nothing that I didnt like.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: We found this a very relaxing location. The owners let you alone, but eager to help you when you had any questions. Gave you a lot of information about the area. We were home away from home. For sure coming back one day.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: We arrived late the first night and the owner was very accommodating, providing notes at the front door to guide us to our room. She was also a wealth of information the next morning to help us determine our schedule for the day. The only downside was that two nights were not enough. Plan for at least three if you can.
Cons: Lighting was a little confusing to sort out, but overall the room was fabulous!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Loved every minute of our stay at The Tuwanek Hotel! Being off season, had the lodge to ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed the oceanside hot tub, steam room and surrounding rock gardens both evening and morning. Our Sunset Room was very cozy and we though the neighbouring coffee/games room was awesome. Was great being able to watch a movie in the theatre room and enjoy popcorn and put our feet up.
Cons: Nothing could have been better :)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Hot tub excellent, steam room awesome, nice fire pit, and great views
Excellent 10.0
Pros: If you wanna a quite and private place, this is an optimal choice. There are Clean rooms and private beach in this location.
Good 6.0
Pros: This is a very eclectic property which may be quite special in Summer months, but somewhat dreary on a wet November day, although the views are spectacular. The owner of the property was very pleasant and welcoming.
Cons: We were visiting friends in the area who recommended this property as it was quite close (4.5km). Truthfully, we were unsure of just what to expect, but whatever that may have been, this was not it. There was WiFi and a TV, but otherwise zero amenities during our stay, which being only one night was unimportant. From a value standpoint, this facility is twice the cost of the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver which is outrageous!

Excellent 9.6
Pros: The room was large with a huge covered deck. It was quietly located with an ocean view of Porpoise Bay and trees galore. The hosts made us feel welcome and made recommendations for dinner. Breakfast was served promptly and was a good traditional breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh tomato and parsley, plus toast options).

Cons: Air conditioner maybe
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Great location, lovely view from balcony, good room, welcoming and helpful hostess. Great food and fantastic view at Wilderness Lodge nearby, but expensive! Pub very welcoming and reasonable menu but we thought it much too salty. Walk to Skoocunchuck Narrows is a must to see the tidal race, check the times at the store.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: We rented the 2 bedroom apartment for our time surfing the famous Skookumchuck wave. Superb location just above the Egmont marina. Grocery store well stocked with beer and wine a short walk away. Saw orcas on several occasions from the balcony!! Really friendly staff. Had a great time. Will be back!!!

Pros: Spacious suites, amazing view, excellent for a get away from the city. The staff are super friendly and very welcoming!
Cons: Very few options to eat around the hotel and there is no restaurant in the hotel, so you need to bring your own food or buy it on the IGA market in the village
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful view and room. Was looking for hot tub, pool and fitness facilities
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Relaxing
Cons: Breakfast in bed
Good 7.0
Pros: Was very quiet and private...don't think most of the property was booked. When we arrived the gentleman at the desk was very friendly and came to our suite to show us how to use some of the remotes for our place . Was a comfortable suite to stay in and I wanted to stay another night although it was pricy for off season
Cons: The biggest issue I had here was that I asked if I could get a cost break on the 2nd night as I only booked one night with the booking company and the man at the desk seemed quite accommodating and showe'd me a price $40 less than what I paid for the first night. I agreed but when I went to pay he wasn't there so I dealt with a women who was not pleasant and didn't listen to what I was explaining. She charged tax on the amount I was given and so I saved $1.75 only. I asked that the manager call me as I wanted to clear this up but no one called.

Pros: Amazing balcony over looking the ocean. The couple who own the place are lovely people.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We liked everything - from the welcome basket to the amazing views - exceptional!
Cons: It was all good!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Attention to detail. The suite had many nice touches that were unexpected and very much appreciated.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location is great, and the view is spectacular. The suite is very private and comfortable. We enjoyed having a full kitchenette, and the goodies left in the fridge and on the counter were greatly appreciated!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Ocean views from every room. Very thoughtful touches by hosts such as milk and cream in the fridge, welcome basket, little chocolates, a few extra amenities in the bathroom like local lavender lotion. We loved it so much we went to the Lavender Farm to buy our own. The beach was down a few stairs where we had campfires on 2 nights(hosts provided the wood so it was really easy). We were lucky to get clear nights with full moon over the water. So beautiful. The decor inside was beachy with nice high ceilings, lovely woodwork, and deluxe bathroom (ocean views from shower too!). The kitchen was perfectly adequate and we ate in (out on the huge balcony) most of the time because the view was just too hard to leave. We had some lovely walks on the beach when the tide went out. One day we even saw whales but that doesn't happen often so don't hold me to that. But lots of other entertainment on the water - cruise ships, ferries, seals, herons, sea gulls, kayakers etc. We honestly did not want to leave. Oh I forgot about the hot tub - 1 minute walk down a few stairs and you are soaking in a very nice hot tub and soaking up more ocean views. The house is a few minutes drive from Sechelt if you do want to go for a walk or a coffee or out for dinner. Michele even gave us a $10 gift card to the local Bakery to get a coffee which was very much appreciated. We went over to the inlet side for dinner at the Blue Heron too. I would recommend doing that. More great views, great food and the owner Gail is a hoot. Lots to do and see on the Sunshine coast. I wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be back.
Cons: There is really nothing Cam and Michele could have done to make our stay better. We found the driveway a little tricky but with a back up camera it was no problem. Do wear sturdy shoes for walks on the beach because it is rocky. If you have a problem with stairs then this might not work for you but we enjoyed very much the fun little trek past blackberry bushes and grape vines and over the mosaic steps to get to the beach. It is about a 2 minute walk but feels like you are in secret garden.

Pros: The location was stunning, peaceful quiet and comfortable, and Jeffery was a great host..
Cons: I would have liked tea and coffee facilities in the room, like a jug so I didn’t have to go upstairs in my pjs to make it..

Pros: Very quiet. Comfortable bed. Clean linens and towels. Good shower.
Cons: Very plain. Old furniture.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Did not have the breakfast. Highly recommend guests request rooms that overlook the inlet (water) rather than the parking lot. Our view (room 32) was awesome.Th
Cons: There should be a night stand on both sides of the bed. Room 32 only has one night stand. Also, the mini fridge freezer is not working....it is totally in need of defrosting.
Okay 5.0
Pros: We liked the location as it was very handy for a visit with friends in the area. The view to the bay was lovely and the location was very quiet.
Cons: The toilet kept on running after you flushed. There was what looked like black mold in the corners of the tub surround at the base of the tiles. It also looked like the shower curtain had not been cleaned in a very long time and the toilet paper dispenser was barely holding onto the wall.
Okay 5.0
Cons: Bed comfort and window blinds need updating
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Right near the water and a duck pond. Quiet, clean. Pub next door.
Cons: All was good
Good 6.0
Pros: Was pleasantly surprised how clean it was after seeing other reviews. Great view of the water from the room. Would stay there again! Felt safe and parking was not an issue.
Cons: Not sure.
