Lovely character home with a private bathroom for every room. The breakfast was superb!Everything one could want. There was fresh fruit, yogurt, bread Products, Tuna, eggs hard boiled, juice, jams, cheeses, and a specialty coffee maker, plus teas and hot chocolate. The ‘Anytime breakfast’ policy was so enjoyable! The common areas were very comfortable and welcoming. We did not use the hot tub because the weather was cold and rainy, but in the summertime, it would’ve been a spectacular yard to use.
Sadly this property uses fragrant products in their laundry soaps. It meant the bedding was intolerable to those who are sensitive. Truly there is no reason why they cannot use sent free products thereby accommodating those with allergy issues. For those with mobility issues, it is good to know that there are a number of stairs up into the house, and most of the rooms are in the upper floors. In our house-which they call a pavilion – there were only two rooms on the main floor. However, both of these rooms were subject to noise from the workings of the house. Most importantly, it is good to know that this house is on a busy highway, not a street, not a road, a three Lane commercial-highway! The property has two houses -one on the busy highway, and one on a quiet side street which includes free parking. Be sure to ask for the pavilion Abbot when you book. I reserved one room in the pavilion Abbot, but arrived to find that I had been moved to the pavilion Mary -which is the house on the busy highway, with restricted street parking, or the option to pay five dollars each night to park across the street. I suspect that guests-who arrived earlier - had complained about the noise of the highway, and were moved to the quieter house and specifically, into my reserved room. Our efforts to resolve this was a negative experience. Best to confirm which room you will be paying for -as this property takes pre-payment several days before arrival. It seems they then can alter the room you paid for. This is a lovely getaway if you can tolerate chemical fragrances, multiple stairs, and noise from a busy highway at the doorstep.
Enjoyed outside hot tub and the area around house. Kitchen and living area very unique.
Could not figure out coffee pot. Breakfast not what we expected but ok.
Nice and clean
No staff on site, awful do it yourself breakfast with very limited options. Nothing warm.
The breakfast facilities were better than I'd expected. We enjoyed our large balcony.
The decor was a bit naff.
Location was good. Ground floor room.
Having to go outside to access breakfast room. Tiny sink in bathroom with shelf over top making it difficult to brush teeth or wash face!
