Pros:
Wonderful oasis with the most pleasant pool area and outdoor kitchen. Has a delightful Portuguese colonial-type charm to it with lots of common areas to enjoy. Relaxing greenery around the pool and onsite knowledgeable manager who speaks perfect English. A great base to explore the Amazon. Highly recommend!
Cons:
Access to the cooking facilities mysteriously discontinued, limited to microwave use only.

Pros:
There’s a Portuguese manager at the hostel. ( Himself was very stressed because de double shift, it was very unpleasant talking to him). My room was very badly maintain, the mattress was awful. The swimming pool was broke. After fist night around 5 am the manager was talking to a staff so loud that makes me stand and ask to make quite. When the manager finally get out for the day off I asked the staff to call the owner to be refund for 2 nights. So I did instead to stay 4 nights I left at second early in the morning. Absolutely do not recommend this place,
Cons:
Pity, there’s a charming in the property. But considering the poor general condition specifically inside the room and the unbelievable bad manager. I will never be there again! Pros:
Good location, Great swimming pool.
Cons:
Room and bathroom dirty. Bathroom, specially, was disgusting. It was not cleaned after its last guests. Shower had two temperatures: cold or boiling hot. As Manaus is always hot, I opted for the cold option. When informed, manager said they were fully booked and there was nothing they could do. There was: replace the damn thing for a better one: eletrical showers - as was the case - cost about USD40 and are easily replaceable! There were soap dispensers, but empty. I had to go to the market to buy some. Mattress in the room didn’t properly fit the bed. And as it was old, it would cave with the weight of my body (90 kilos/200 pounds). If I were to open the room’s window I would be seen by anyone passing by the second floor’s common area - no privacy! Funny story: when checking in, manager mentioned he would later explain my two breakfast options. I supposed that, due to covid, there would be no breakfast buffet, but 2 a la carte options. When I questioned, his answer was I could go to two different bakeries, one to the right, other one to the left. LMAO. Last, but not least, the enter the facilities you need to ring the doorbell and wait, sometimes for a uncomfortable long period. Really cheap, but not worth it!
Okay

Cons:
The owner’s family used to regularly have their meals on a table right outside of the room door. A little baby sleep box was placed under our window so we could hear a baby literally screaming the whole morning since early hours The owners also use the hostel’s kitchen as a private one so most of the times you have to wait until they finish to cook for their family before you can use the stove or kitchen’s facilities
