The two rooms provided to us have very dirty carpets and strong cigarette smell.

We were put in a smoking room although that wasn’t specified in the booking - the room and the sheets had a very strong odor and our clothes smelled like smoke upon leaving. I suggest if this is an issue that you request a non smoking room in advance! This is quite typical in Japan though
